Vings 68cm vs DF-H 68cm v2?

Nov 28, 2025

    1. Hello there!

I’ve searched around and I haven’t seen a post like this yet, but if I just missed it, I apologize.

Is there anyone here who has or had both the Vings 68cm male body (the Plus version is the one I’m specifically interested in but for my question I don’t think the wider shoulders matter all that much) and a Doll Family-H 68cm V2 male body? I bought a doll secondhand recently and while he hasn’t arrived yet, I’m pretty sure I’ll want replace his current body when he does. Right now, I’m between those two as options so my big question here is, which one is the best in terms of posing?

I do already have a DF-H body, the 62cm V5, and while it’s beautifully sculpted.. he isn’t the best poser, at least not compared to some of my other dolls. That said, I’ve heard good things about their 68cm body and have seen some lovely photos (it’s also just a bit less taxing on the wallet). I’ve also heard just as many good things about Vings, although I feel like they’re less popular.

If at all possible, I would love a comparison!

    2. I don't have the vings, but I have heard it's not people's favorite to pose. I do have the DF-H 68cm v2 and I adore it. I want to get a couple more to hybrid heads onto I like it so much. I only feel that way about one other body, the Asleep Eidolon Ruan Mian body.

    3. I have Vingsdoll- 70cm Male Body (Ver.2 )and his legs are annoying and tend to binned over, maybe restring will help him.
on the other hand I don't think you will go wrong with DF either lines, I have DF-A 68cm Boy Body and I adore it, sold rock poser :D

    4. @Haven_Of_Dolls336 @tru4ever Thank you both so much for your advice! I’m still undecided, but seeing how much you two adore the one body definitely makes me tempted.

Something I saw in a video review that really threw me for a loop with the DF-H body is those little ledges on the arms to keep their poses. It seems like a clever idea in theory, but aesthetically, I’m not sure how I feel about it. Do you they actually work without being too annoying? Or stand out a lot visually? Thank you again for your responses! :)

    6. @clowntown In theory, the ledges inside the shoulder socket can help with posing, but it's a "your mileage may vary" situation: some people find the ledges restrict posing, as it means the arm only wants to sit at those particular angles.

I've handled a DF-H mini body where the ledges have been somewhat helpful in arm posing, but sometimes in larger (70cm+) dolls, the ridges aren't enough to hold the weight of the arms, making them effectively useless. I personally prefer wiring and sueding to arm ridges.

A friend has a 65cm DF-H boy and finds that body to be well-engineered, so hopefully that's also the case for the 68cm boy.

    7. I have two DFH 68cm girls with the armpit notches. They're not obtrusive and I find them helpful. Both girls are the best posing bodies I have, really well engineered. They come wired, which helps.

    8. @castironteapot Yeah, that was my concern, beyond it just looking kind of strange IMO. The most useful place I’ve found notches in larger dolls is on bust joints, but I also have dolls without and they pose just fine. Seems very hit or miss. Honestly, I didn’t even know they were a thing until I watched that review I mentioned, kind of surprised none of the dealers I looked at included pictures. Thank you for your input!

@Alewife I had heard newer DF-H bodies were coming wired! If I end up going that route, I would hope the male body comes the same way— not that I couldn’t do it myself, but I don’t mind a little less work. :XD:

    9. I own only Vings68v.2, I don't have Vings68 Plus or DF-H 68v.2, so I can't comment on those.

My review on Vings68v.2 based on my experience of posing and playing with my dolls a lot, and comparing with my other dolls at home... caveat that handling and joint design are quite personal taste, and I have pretty strong opinions about my personal prefs. So YMMV.

Pros - If a pose is within his tolerance range, he holds it very well and is reliably stable. Free-standing is very important to me and he excels at this: sturdy ankles, stands remarkably well on flat feet and high heels. He's best at standing poses and anything that has him on his feet, and these days I completely trust him to not fall over. He also sits quite well.
The body's aesthetics are also exceedingly beautiful. I think his engineering is designed expressly to make him look graceful and gorgeous no matter what pose he's in.

Cons - While this body is a good poser, it has the unfortunate (dis)honour of being my least favourite body to handle in my doll crew. Lots of squared-off edges and snappy design: he's the only doll I own that pinches my fingers with his joints, and sometimes painfully. The "arm ridges" or locks in his shoulders are great for holding arms-out and arms-up poses, but somehow misses a lock closer to the body which limits his fine-grained posing. His mobility thighs are hard to use -- I have to use two hands to pull them out pretty far in order to engage them (I can barely use them when he's wearing slim-fit pants), and their design is a bit clunky and not too versatile, though when they're engaged they hold pose very well. When his chest joint is engaged to lean forward, the squared-off design gives him a "shelf" on his back that's kinda unsightly and I have to hide it under clothes. My biggest bugbear are his elbows: they're snappy as all hell, wiring his arms has tamed them somewhat but not completely.
He can do sitting and lounging poses well enough, but I find him less versatile at them vs. standing poses.

Verdict - This body is kind of on the extremes. The poses I can get him to do, he does exceedingly well, and he always looks so graceful and beautiful when doing it. I have complete confidence in his ability to stand reliably without falling over. In appearance, I think he is the most beautiful 68cm male body I've seen. OTOH, I greatly dislike the way his joints and joint locks are engineered, I find him not as pleasurable to handle as my other dolls.
Now and again, I think of re-bodying my boy when I'm most frustrated with handling him, and the replacement body I consider is *drumroll*... DF-H 68 v.2. Though it may be a case of "the grass is greener on the other side". Vings68v.2 is a body I wouldn't want to buy a second time. But his strengths are considerable and so far they've outweighed my frustrations. So I put up with the doll I have.

Photos... I've gotten my boy to do some great poses in his high-heeled shoes.

    10. @aihre I'm really impressed that he will hold that pose!

    11. @clowntown I do actually own both bodies, but their both currently in storage so I can't get any new pictures of them. So, here are some old pictures of both bodies.

I haven't really played much with my Vings body in the last year or two, so I sadly can't remember how easy or hard it was to pose it, but as @aihre showed you can definitely get it into some interesting poses. My Har on the Vings body stood like for a few hours while I fused around with pictures and other stuff. The shoes also helped with stability.

I like the DF-H body, but I'm personally not a fan of how it looks when in certain poses. When clothed it's not as big of an issue, but when naked you can see all of the hard edges and grooves.
