So are you wanting to use a resin head on a vinyl body? DDS/DDs are nice but I've heard people say they're pretty but don't pose nearly as well as the Obitsu counterparts. Though personally the obitsu joints are kinda ugly, but if you have your character wearing thigh high socks and long sleeves I guess it really doesn't show. Obitsus are also really easier to get right now than Volks. Just depends I guess if you're more for function or more for aesthetics. personally I like pretty XD so volks is all I want for vinyl bjds at the moment hehehe

 

It is possible to get a resin head on a DD body, but it requires some jiggery-pokery involving a short elastic loop being fed up the neck over the internal skeleton and under the outer vinyl. I'm pretty sure I've heard of people putting resin heads on Obitsu bodies too, though as I've not handled a large Obitsu I'm not sure what that takes.

DDS bodies are around 55cm, NOT 40cm. For the 40cm range you'd be looking at the MDD/MDDIII instead, or the Parabox 43cm body (which uses an Obitsu skeleton).

 

Mz. Spade I don't think the cracking is due to how a person handles there DDS. If what l heard the cracking is a company promble ect.

I also love obitsu and one day get there 45cm boy.

 

The recent cracking problem seems to be only with some of the DDIII bodies. I've never had any issues with the DDII base bodies, or the DDS bodies. Even my DDIII is problem-free (so far) *knock on wood*
But they still have to be handled carefully while posing, inner skeleton breakage might happen due to careless handling.

 

Mz. Spade here is the other DDS body that l have with a SQ Lab head on it.

 

thats what i did to get my DDS body.
found a fullset dds on mandarake and started a split to get people to take up the other parts.

I think its the quickest fastest way to get a body at this point in time. To start a split for one.

yeah, sqlabs has a single torso body of resin to go with their heads.

if its a full-set split.
the pieces will be

head
body
outfit
shoes
wig
accessories(if any)

at least thats how i break it down.

Then you just have to figure out how much each piece is worth. Depending on the state of the quality.
I think thats the hardest part lol. well besides finding people to pick up all the pieces.
oh, and of course find a doll thats reasonably priced and not jacked up xD

Mz. Spade thanks the shirt is abit long in the selves but other then that it fits. I'm going to see if the dress's fit DDS.

 

Splits worked out fine for me so far, I got both my DDS bodies that way

 

On the breakage, there have been plenty of people who have had DDS inner skeletons break. The DD3 was designed in a similar fashion to the DDS, and it's had a lot of breakage problems as well. This is not just from rough handling, they are definitely much more fragile than the DD2. (VolksUSA was actually inspecting the DD3 bodies of the new Sabers while people were picking them up in store to replace parts immediately. So yes it's from the factory.)

Volks has been making various design changes to the DDS and DD3 body. Reports of breakage on the newer ones seem lower, but not zero. Hopefully they figure it out someday. The DDS and DD3 do both hold poses much better than the DD2 ever did.

 

I am currently on the hunt for a DDS body myself...no such luck yet.....I have been in YJ night and day for 3 weeks....nothing!

 

I just bought Moka a white wig and l hope this one looks good on her. I'v been trying to find the right wig for her and it's a pain in the arse to to get right.
