Volks Mini Super Dollfie discussion Part 2

My F-20 girl arrived yesterday and I was able to give her a face up. I was aiming for something soft, though I think she needs darker eyebrows and eyeliner. Once the weather cooperates, I will fix that.

Indeed! Volks Noel is like a male Lilith and Phyllis, and all three are the same as FCS MSD F-06.

 

Yay! My F-21 just arrived and I opened the package. She's just INCREDIBLY cute, I hadn't seen this mold in person yet but I really thought she looked very cute in pictures and I liked her. But ohmigosh I love her IRL, the lips are just so delicate and so full and beautiful. I haven't gotten any messages regarding her ears but I guess I'll make my own. I had a wonderful idea of making sparkly seashell/wing like ears for her from clear/white resin.

I'm now SUPER excited about her.

I'm new to this list but I received my F-06 last week! Volks did a marvelous job getting her to me before Christmas and included such a sweet card. Christmas has kept me busy over here but I did want to stop in, say hello, and share my new girl. I'm hoping once some of my family get togethers die down, I can start posting here more. This is Olivia and I think she's started something because I can't get over how much I am enjoying her.

Hi, all! Jumping in here Nothing to show, yet (my little Akira's away to get a new face-up right now but once he's back I'll show him off here) but I have run into kind of an enigma with my latest Mandarake purchase and I thought you might be able to help me.

Shortly before Christmas, I bought a Volks MSD boy on Mandarake that I'm pretty sure is a Schulze - he looks like a mini-version of F-16 and since he's definitely a boy I guessed Schulze rather than Maria. However, his headplate/headcap are puzzling me. His headplate reads "05.08/HDP" which I've already deciphered as Volks' Hometown Dolpa Nagoya 2 in August 2005. However, I can't find any info on MSDs released for that specific Dolpa other than Toppi (at least I can't find any more info on Where Angels Lie). His headcap's got "14" carved into it, too (there's another "14" on the inside of his head, too, but it can't be an F-14 from the FCS because the sculpts don't match at all).

He appears to be genuine, there's Volks stamps both on the headcap and inside the head and they're both very clear-cut and easy to read (VSSD, both of them). So - do any of you have any idea whom I just got home? Did someone maybe exchange the headcap? Or just glue the headplate in the headcap (do Schulzes/Marias usually come with headplates?)?

Mandarake says it's "MSD Boy 14th head (amber - jade)" from August 2008 but - wouldn't that be Hisui? Well, it's definitely no Hisui ...

I can't post pics right now but I'll try to take some (or have some taken) over the weekend if you need more info or need to see the head/headcap/headplate to help identification. Here's the link to the Mandarake listing, though, which has pics including a close-up of the head.

sephyelysian, congratulations on your F06 girl! Looking at her face-up, am I safe in assuming she was a proxy FCS order, and not a Volks USA Online FCS?

Haha, she definitely does. My wife ordered a Dai to go with her. He's unfortunately trapped with the UPS over the weekend so we're a sad bunch of ladies over here. It'll be a nice Monday surprise though!

She is actually a Volks USA Online FCS! My wife painted her this last week. I'm really thrilled how she turned out.

Wouldn't one offs have a different headplate, though, saying they're one offs? Or would a one off from a Dolpa have the Dolpa headplate?

 

All one-offs would have a 'one-off' headplate to them, so I don't think that's it. And looking at the listing it is definitely a Schulze, but the title of the listing does reference the sculpt as a Kohaku/Hisui, which... isn't right. xD What I think it might be is that the MSD kits all come with headplates, unlike their SD counterparts. And because they're released at a lot fewer Dolpas, they may be dated for the Dolpa they were released at. It always felt like the MSD kits were treated more like limiteds than actual School Heads at their dolpas (at least that's what it felt like trying to hunt down an MSD Rock after he was first released...) So maybe your little Schulze is from HDP Nagoya 2! Congrats, Schulze is such a cute sculpt. I hope you'll post him soon!

So far, I'm calling him "kitty-cat" because of the little "bell-collar" that reminds me of similar collars I've seen on cats. *gg* Maybe I'll call him Mikesch - not sure, yet.

 

Awwww, Khell, he's adorable, whatever his name turns out to be! Congratulations on spotting him and snatching him up!

I just checked my Schulze's headplate -- it says "05.05/DP13," which reinforces the idea that the workshop kits are date-marked like limiteds.

Ι finally got my F-20 boy shipped from my friend to me! Can't wait until he finally arrives~ ;w; I missed this character so much ever since selling his original doll that was intended to be him so I'm more than excited to have him back! I'll admit that I haven't been checking this thread as much as I'd like... I always get distracted... but hopefully I'll have some photos to add to all the amazing MSDs soon!

Kitty-cat's name is Makarius - received him on January 2nd and the patron saints of that day were Gregor, Otfried, Dietmar and Makarius. I liked Makarius best. Short Mak.
