Volks Super Dollfie Midi Discussion part 1

Oh thanks guys, I got F-35 in WS, because look at that mold, I literally couldn't not get him! She sent me pics without the eyes just to tide me over for the wait so here is that boy:



She said their faceups are really gorgeous in person, they look amazing already, but I will get better pictures when I have them all home too.

 

Yay Solitary Angel! I'm defiantly going to go get Mako if I don't find a bargain in Mandarake then! How did you ask for the VAT off, or did they speak English? I didn't know you could do that!

Oh, what a handsome little guy! He looks a lot more mature than many of the MSD heads.

I don't think he spoke English (at least not much) so I guess he just assumed from my appearance and limited Japanese, LOL! He asked for my passport, so if you just show them that it should work.

I'm having a lovely time - just two more days and then have to go home and finish packing for my move, ugh!

 

I am thrilled to have won the Volks Lottery and will have the Midi Reisner coming home soon! I adore my big Reisner and have been looking for years for the "right" MSD boy for me, so I freaked when I saw him in the lottery and freaked more when I found out I won the chance to purchase him! No doubt I'll be spamming you all with pics of him soon!

 

thanks ginarolo! I'm making my way through this thread, some gorgeous pics and gorgeous dolls! I'm not very familiar with the Volks MSD/Midi sculpts, so I'm hoping to have time to read through this thread and learn more about them! I have a FCS 31 midi girl and I love her, but I haven't had enough time over the last few months to play...hoping to have some time during the holiday season to play again!

 

I keep spamming him, but... he looks different now!



He now has freckles and a couple of moles to cover a little scuff in his blushing he got traveling. His box wouldn't fit in my suitcases, so rather than pay to ship him home I wrapped the pillows around him and carried him in my backpack.

I look forward to seeing your Midi Reisner, Wally! A big Reisner is on my list of wants.

Solitary Agent, Well, to be fair, I am the one spamming replies because Preston is just too cute to not reply! Can I say, I don't know if you will be keeping this style because I feel as if it isn't your usual one, but your clothing choices for him are so adorable! With the wig and eyes, a triple threat. And I can't resist beauty marks of any kind, so all around a fan.

If either of these boys came in WS, I would be in trouble!

My boys are shipping now, I just need to pay my friend back for that, and this process minus the possibility of getting one of the current MSD girl omukae outfits will finally be finished. Volks took up until literally almost the last day to finish my order this time, which I am not accustomed to with them, so I am extra ready!

 

Oh, yes, this is his style! The majority of my characters are either from the Victorian period or the 1920s, but I have a group of 4 kids who are in a band in a modern setting, so I can have fun modern clothes and accessories too.

 

Dai's wig does look great on him! And I love the pinkish blond colour of Preston's wig, it really suits his faceup, he's so sweet!


I've been looking at the promo pics of Mako. The more I look, the more I want her! I want to buy a nice kimono for her, and give her a Japanese girls name. So far I'm thinking Hinata. Still dying to see owner photos, but can't find any!

 

Everybody's dolls are so cute! Especially everyone's Dai! Definitely decided that he'll be my next doll. :3

Hi everyone! I thought I'd share a picture of my SDM Mako. Volks gave her to me as a prize for winning first place in the doll costume contest at this year's San Diego BJD Convention! She's absolutely adorable so anyone who is thinking of getting her, do it! I'm planning on making her a dress soon even though her default outfit is really cute. I love the bloomers! So here she is wearing a Lullaby Poem wig and some nice blue eyes I had.

YAY! A mako! She's gorgeous baby~mermaid! And precious, how wonderful that she was a prize.

Thank you, moonglo! Yeah she really has a sweet face. From some angles she reminds me of SD Charlotte and other times I think she looks a bit like SD Chiyo but now I see the Lorina too!
And thanks again, Mayonaka! I do think another photoshoot is in order once her dress is finished.

 

I could see her as Chiyo or even Saki with the blue eyes.

Had anybody else heard anything about MSD-sized School heads? Or would these be considered as "Midi" sized? I've searched both Volks USA and Volks Japan, and can't find any info. I've also sent a FM to the poster of this pic, but haven't received an answer, yet.

Maybe this person is just referring to this mold as "School A" because in their eyes it looks like a miniature school A head, like how MSDF-06 is called "Mini Anais"?

This looks like the MSD Schulze, who is indeed a classroom head! At some events Volks would release MSDs as full dolls for their painting classes, and Schulze was one of them. He is pretty much a little MSD sized School A! Other school head MSDs include Rock/Margaret, and Miichan/Taachan.
