Volks Super Dollfie Midi Discussion part 1

Also, anyone have an idea of when Volks is likely to do another online FCS? Of course they don't publish a schedule in advance but there seemed to be some people before who postulated based on previous years. So maybe someone experienced would have some kind of estimate.

 

That's a great question also, @TheBodyVolcanic . I actually asked Volks when I paid for my Jo a few weeks ago, but at that point, they didn't have any information about it to give me. :3 So Im guessing its not for a while

Of course! I'll PM you shortly. Also, as far as this year's FCS is concerned, I'm thinking they may start in April seeing as March has a lottery running.

(But as far as I'm concerned, they can delay as long as they want. It gives me more time to gather funds, haha.)

 

That's a good way to look at it actually! I hope you're right, starting it in April would be perfect for me, if I don't win a DearSD in March I'll toss that money to the FCS hahaha.

I've wanted a Dear for a long time but never gotten to enter the lotteries until now, I hope I can get one.
But otherwise... new SDMidi for me :3...

 

As a Luts BDF owner, I really do like the size. And the chubbiness. They're really really cute dolls.

 

I'm not into the DearSD myself, but it's always nice to see people attain long sought-after dolls.

 

Lil bit o news, I emailed Volks USA a bit ago and they got back to me~!! I had asked them a couple questions, one of which was if SDM F-35 might ever come to the online FCS because several of us here were talking about wanting it. Here is what they told me:
"In regards to your suggestion on the SDMidi F-35 head mold, we’ll be sure to contact our Headquarters to let them know how much you guys like it!"
I'm sure they get a lot of sculpt suggestions of course but I think it helps a little at least to let them know if a sculpt is popular over here, makes it more likely they may be released in the USA FCS someday~ they're always so nice too, hehe.
I also just found Buyee (the Y!J overseas service) and so I've finally been able to really browse Y!J and there are two midi Shiratoris, one with its fullset! I'm really happy because I had only ever seen one here on DoA for sale, and it's a doll I would looove to have. (I have the big KyoTenshi Shiratori head though she still needs a body... I love that sculpt lol) So I hope there will be one there when I have money, I'll have the little Shiratori someday >:3
Anyone have a midi Shiratori here? Would love to see some pics, it's hard to find any online besides some sparse promo pictures lol T^T

 

Waaaa... So I suddenly realize my love for one of Volks' rarer SDM sculpts ~_~ It's going to be a nightmare to find one at a decent price.

So, I browsed Yahoo.jp and FOUND a like-new F-42, purchased just this past December.. :3

So, now I have my F-42 coming home! So excited! Hoping F-20 pops up in an FCS, maybe sometime in the fall, so I have time to save more money. Haha. xD

A quick note on Buyee - they're very expensive compared to other proxies, but on the plus side they're lightning fast and are fully backed by Y!J. Also, I sadly have no Shiratori, but she's super adorable! Good luck getting her SDM version!

 

Ohh I see. I think I'd rather pay more and have the backing of Y!J as I'm pretty nervous about it already
But,I just put down a layaway deposit for a DearSD Kun fullset from one of the 2016 lotteries, so I'm not able to order a Shiratori anytime soon anyway hahaha! I'm happy to see she pops up on Y!J more frequently than here or on Mandarake. I see a lot of SDM Byakurens on Mandarake but have yet to see a Shiratori. I guess she's just not as popular T^T
Oh and I have a question, does anyone know about the status of Volks' current standard models? I read somewhere - I think in the general SD forum - that there was some news from Volks Intl about discontinuing the standard SDs. They didn't mention SDMs but I imagine they would probably discontinue all the standards at once. I've always wanted Mako, just was never high priority on my list, and I want to know if I should try to grab one soon in case they discontinue her...
Since there hasn't been any news from the USA branch I think I won't worry about it for now, as they'll probably have some warning before they discontinue. But if anyone knows anything about that, I'd love to hear more info

 

Three of the standard Super Dollfies are confirmed to being discontinued by Volks - Saki, Chiyo, and Coco. Since they're on the single-jointed solid torso SD10 body, I can see why. Not many people are fond of that body, myself included. As for the SDMs Mako and Dai, I have no idea. I want Mako's wig and outfit, though.

 

It does make sense about the SD10 body! IDK why they used literally their least poseable body for the standards, when they could have at least used the split torso bodies. I love the Saki/F-59 sculpt but because of the body I have always held off on getting the standard one. After they announced double jointed elbows would be available in the online FCS, I decided to plan for an FCS F-59 in sunlight TuT. They've had her available several times so I hope she will be again, I'd really love one with the split torso and new elbows;; I hope when they discontinue the SD girls they might replace them with some new standards with the new elbows and split torsos!!
I hope they don't discontinue the standard SDMs. I imagine they're a lot more popular than the standard SDs because of their posing and more reasonable price point. If they do discontinue then they'd better warn us because I'll need to snatch a Mako >~>
