1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Wait times. . .the sands of time. . .

Jul 3, 2008

    1. I'll wait as long as the company suggests , so if they say 6 weeks and I get no shipping notice when it comes to 6 weeks then I message them.
As for delays, I definately do feel that they are wholly obliged to mentioning it. But delays of any sort are pretty much always announced anyway. I get around as 9mpatient as the next person does when it comes down to it, but getting angry and spamming for replies doesn't help at all so to fill in the gap I go off and find something else to do.

As for it being one person as oppose to a whole company, It probably wouldn't make me anymore lax with them though... As they should know not to bit off more than they can chew, and if they do that without good reason then it would just make me avoid them in the future, as that is a really unprofessional thing to do.
I am also more impressed though if its just one person doing everything. ^^

    2. My MnF Shiwoo came in about a month (after I figured out PayPal- My order was canceled b/c I had no idea I had to pay them on it. I thought the money just went to them when I ordered on Luts. XP) and that was fine with me.

I bought a MnF elf vamp shiwoo head on here and he came very quickly, maybe like a week or so. His body took its sweet time though. I don't remember how long it took (bought it from Featherfall or Junkyspot, I can't remember), but I didn't mind the wait. I had his head, so I was fine with me.

My Husky was a scare because I bought him right as Dollshe was discontinuing for the moment. I had some trouble ordering (the pop-up order form thing on Luts) and then the big Dollshe Bermann mess-up happened and I was frantically contacting Luts (I bothered them so much), but he came home in about two months (ordered in February, arrived in April).

So the max wait time for me was about two months/8 weeks. I really prefer buying second hand if I can.

    3. Hey! I would never really purchase a doll that I have to wait 8 months before it gets here. Two months I think is okay. Three gets upsetting and more than that is not for me. When I buy one, I want it to be here next week!

    4. Right now I'm waiting for my first doll to arrive, and yes, I have asked the company (angelregion) about her status, two times, not counting my requests (another 2, one of which was left unanswered) for them to send my EMS number, since she is taking so long to arrive.

the first time was around 4 weeks after my order and payment had come through,
I had heard nothing since and, because I'm very inexperienced with ordering from anywhere further then the local bookstore (XD), I got a bit worried. They then told me it would be another 4-8 weeks.
The next time was 10 weeks later. After which one more week passed by untill my order status on their site changed to 'shipping completed'... she still isn't here though XD so I'll just be a good girl and wait a bit longer, and maybe ask again if it really takes too long

I think I'd wait untill the end of time for her to arrive, but I just can't help asking for her status every now and then, cause it shouldn't be normal for her to take so long being send by EMS right?

    5. I guess when you buy something and you are waiting for it to come it seems like ti takes longer. There was something I was waiting for and I oculd have sworn 3 weeks had passed ( not a doll) and when I looked on tha calendar just counting week days it had only been like 5 days. I was glad I checked the calendar first.

So there is that factor but I think people who know how long companies take to ship .make.paint etc should be patient and wait for their doll.

Now if it is a situation where the company has stated it is only going to take 1 month and its 3 months then yes I would be a little upset and dissapointed. BUt if right off the bat the company says wait time is going to b 6 months then we have to patient even though its hard sometimes !

    6. When I was waiting for my first doll, Yikes, impatient after the 3rd week. >.<;
This time its a little different, its been 2 weeks since I ordered him, and I hadn't even realized it.
I'm not sure what the wait time should be for a doll, but I know that companies all have their share of things to do. Plus, for that much money you should be thankful they put in the time for the order. .-. Just think about it for a minute- They're not just processing YOUR order. They have hundreds of other orders as well.
Good things come to those who wait.
[not yelling at anyone, just generalizing it? o.o;]

    7. If they tell me how long it will take ahead of time and it's close to that estimate I'm willing to wait however long it takes to get my doll. My FCS from Volks USA took almost exactly the estimated four months they said it would take and I didn't mind because I'd rather get the doll I want in good condition than a rush job, especially since he was a custom job in tan resin.

Would I wait longer? Yes, if the company told me it would take that long and was good about keeping in touch. This is where reputation comes into play. If a company is well known for taking a long time but getting everything right every time and keeping to deadlines then it's fine with me. Even if it takes a little longer that's fine so long as the company communicates that to me.

    8. DoD used to be infamous for their long waits of 6-8 weeks. These days that seems more normal, perhaps due to the growing popularity of the hobby? :? Whatever the reason, I consider waits of up to 3-4 months to be tolerable, provided the company makes it clear how long I will need to wait. I was not happy when DoD made me wait almost 3 months for a doll when the wait time was supposed to be around 8 weeks. And I don't want to have to "bug" a company to get my doll shipped on schedule, either.

I must admit, I am more likely to buy a doll I am not quite sure of if it is a short wait, since if it doesn't work out then I won't have had my "doll funds" tied up for months in a doll that didn't work. Whenever a new set of Soom's monthly dolls ship, I see a few pop up in the marketplace because their owners couldn't bond with them or their doll plans changed during the 4 month wait. How disappointing and inconvenient it must be to have $700+ tied up in a doll for so long and not want it on arrival. :(

    9. Oops, double post! So sorry, please delete. :sweat *kicks spazzy internet*

    10. I check how long it estimates on the company site and then mark in a date on my calendar for roughly that time! :D After that, I might email to check how it's going. But I'm sure doll companies get people emailing them all the time with "where is my doll" questions, so I'd think carefully about it ... perhaps I'd only do it if the company had poor feedback.

    11. It really depends on the company's wait time, here.

I read that for topaz it is going to be "30-50 days" from the money confirmation. Knowing SOOM being behind schedule... well I thinkit's kind of rude for me to pester a company about it. i don't mind if OTHER people do, I just feel terrible for pestering. I've always been that way, though.

We'll just have to wait and see!

    12. I admit I'm an impatient cookie. I'm at about 2.5 months with soom and counting but despite my angst I KNOW he's going to be a beautiful doll.

Irritation only comes when either I wait forever for a doll and they mess it up, or...more likely. I order the same doll with the same extras and the same faceup on the same day as someone else and they get their doll 2 weeks earlier while I get no explanation.

u__u yeah that happened to me once. To be exact around 10 people got theirs before me even those who paid a week later...and some of them had custom faceups when I had a default.

But my cracking patience with soom just comes with the anxiety to see him and love all over him. He's going to be SOOOOO beautiful that I'll forget all the angsting once he arrives.

    13. When I order BJDs I try to forget about it so I don't get impatient. I haven't ordered directly from a company in a long time though...I found that Luts's waiting period is MUCH longer than 20-30 days. When I ordered a SDF Bliss it was a three month wait. I inquired about it after 50 days and they didn't respond I got worried. But ten days later he was shipped. I just wish they had better communication if an order is delayed or if there's a problem.

    14. I waited three months for my first doll and now for my newest it will be another three months! I find on average I end up waiting around a month per doll. My shortest waits were for Mamu (a week from the marketplace) and Blanchet (27 days from Luts).

I really don't mind waiting as long as it's from a company I trust. I suppose I have a lot of patience? However, if I'm given a due date and that date ends up getting constantly pushed back I will get irritated.

    15. I waited about five months for my DoT to arrive after ordered- he was my first doll, I wasn't expecting him to get there immediately but I wasn't expecting it to take that long, either. I ordered him with the default outfit, but without a faceup- he arrived on Halloween day last year. I'd actually kinda forgotten that I ordered him by that point >.>;; I didn't know what was in the gigantic box until I noticed that it was from Seoul, and then I about had a joygasm.

I ordered my Narsha this year on october 8th with a faceup and with one of the outfits sold on Dollmore. I got her on Halloween day of this year- so by comparison, the wait time was non existent.

I'd be perfectly willing to wait another five or six months for a doll I love. I know it'll get here eventually, so I try not to worry about it- though getting it quickly makes me happy. I'm a patient girl, or at least I like to think I am. There were days after ordering my Ducan that I was crawling the DoD forums looking for information about shipping times, but I mellowed after the second month and I didn't worry too much about my Narsha since I'd heard that Dollmore ships abnormally fast anyway.

    16. Agreed. Two months is acceptable.

You also have to think, has the company just released limited (I ran into that), are they having a big event or sale (ran into that too), ect. You have to wait longer if something like that happens.

I suppose I'm spoiled personally. My first wait was about 2 weeks, my second was just over a month.

My absolute most is 3 months. After that, I start to loose it.

    17. Consider though, that a Unoa is around $400 from the company, and anywhere from $800-1300 on the second hand market...

besides, somewhere around the 5 month mark, I kind of stop worrying so much... because by that point, for me, at least, my doll finances have recouped and I can buy something else while I wait.

    18. I'm happy to wait as long as they site says it will take before my doll is shipped. (: But so far both of my dolls have come early. : D Which was a nice surprised for me.

I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer though. XP Waiting is part of the fun.

    19. My longest wait as 10 weeks for my first doll. :sweat I was so incredibly impatient during that time period. But nowadays, I actually tend to lose count of the days and even when I ordered stuff. *_* So when packages come...
      "Hey, you got a package."
      "O_O? A what? What did I or-...oh. This. OTL"

    20. Honestly I'm a very impatient person, so I would get a little mad if it took over half a year I'd get really irritated.
Sadly the saying is "All good things come to those who wait."
      So I'll be patient.:(
