1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Weird things your parents/roommates have said...

Aug 9, 2010

    1. My grandpa always asks "Did you change your doll's diaper today?" and "Did it grow taller?"

      ... Seriously grandpa?

    2. My family insists my Iraki is a girl. I have them convinced the lower half is male but the head they still have an issue with. My sister calls him "b***hy the bot" since he's half robot.

When I was explaining to my parents recently that i had to get a body for a floating head my sister said "You should see how big his winky is!" My father blinked "Winky? He has a winky?" Me "He actually comes with three of them."(Dragondoll Uncle Body has three interchangeable 'parts') My mom started laughing.

    3. Ah yes, my best friend who sometimes acts as a room mate to me was looking at my doll who I accidently defaceuped partly, so he only has one eyebrow at the moment. "I don't think he wants me to see his face. Too bad!" He had his hands up to his face and wig pulled down over his eyebrow

    4. the strangest thing would have to be my brother's comment. usually he's not to fond of my dolls, and often says rude things (which is how i can tell he's really tired; when i sit there with a boy being dressed up in a frilly dress with his wig and head off and my brother stares vaguley with no comment XD) but anyway. Julian has a shirt with a zipper on the front that you can open up. My brother one day as I was holding Julian, unzipped the zipper then rubbed both of Julian's nipples and stated; "look, I'm fondling julian's nipples."
I was like: ".....wtf? XD" It was so random and out of character that it was utterly hilarious.

    5. I told my mum when my Shay arrived ... she was like OH! i have a grandbaby?

    6. So today my dad came in and I had Atla naked because I was working on some shorts for him and he goes "Put some clothes on him! I don't want to see a naked doll with his peener hanging out when I come to bother you.

    7. I had Andromeda & Michael with me in the park on the weekend, and an older man and woman came up to me to see what I was doing. The man was like, "Oh, what a cute couple! They must be getting married, right?" LOLOL It was actually a great conversation starter, though, because then they wanted to know all about them, their names, etc. it was actually kind of funny. At one point the lady says of Michael, "He's so beautiful!" (Michael and I were both very flattered!)

    8. Upon showing my dad my Pukipuki: "...that's a doll?" I guess he didn't expect something so small.

And my mom, seeing my male MSD unboxed, in response to me saying I had to order him some clothes soon: "Yeah, we'll have to get him some nice gay boy clothes."
She actually likes my dolls, but she always thinks boy dolls look effeminate.

And, of course, from the same unboxing..."HE HAS A LITTLE WEINER!"

    9. LOL!! ^^ My Mum was actually a little horrified when she discovered that my boys, Michael and Paul are anatomically correct males. "Don't you think that's kind of inappropriate?"

    10. Hm. I have a couple of random comments people have given me. One is the traditional gender confusion--my Doll Family Chenxi was mistaken for a girl. ^^;; how, I don't know...

I was freaked out my roommate by changing my dikadoll Leica's eyes while we watched Coraline. ^^

And a while ago, my dad paused, looked at me positioning the dolls for a photostory and asked "You know they're not real, right?"

    11. I once showed my first doll to my uncle's wife. At first she looked at him an posed him a little. Then suddenly she screams "Oh Look! It's got a little dollie wiener!!". She'd pulled his pants down, of course. It was a little embarrassing since the rest of my family didn't knew he was anatomically correct. But I guess that's part of the hobby ^^

    12. My mom calls my minifee shiwoo "man hands" because I had somehow ordered her with hands intended for the boys so her hands don't look as cute as the hands of my Chloe. How embarrassing >_<
I have gotten extra hands though. :)

    13. I'm visiting my parents this weekend, and I brought Tyler (RS Mai) home with me. This is the first time my father has actually seen any of my BJD up close and personal. This conversation happened.

      Dad: So, that's your doll?
Me: This is Tyler. What do you think of him?
Dad: Look at that hair. Are you sure he's a boy?
      Me: Yes.
Grandmother: He looks like a boy to me.
Mum: He's definitely a boy. He has parts.
Dad: Oh, well he must be a hippie, then. He needs a haircut.
      Me: *shakes head*
      Mum & Grandmother: *laughing*

    14. Mom : "That's a boy?!"
      Me : "Yeah! Isn't he cute? :3"
      Mom : "..."
      Me : "What now?"
Mom : "He's wearing a lace skirt, you know that right?"

      AND

"I don't want to see him lying around naked! Some of us might get the wrong impression!" XD

    15. When I was changing my doll's eyes, I had a few on the table and my mom walked over and was like: "What are all these eyes doing here?"

    16. My mom told me at some point that my (Impldoll Iris) looked like she had down syndrome. I had a friend put heavy make up on her and make her look really pretty and kinda stuck up.
      Then the next day I had the same doll laying on my desk and my mom comes in "oh who's this she's pretty."..... really mom ...really you can even remember the doll from its clothing or hair... ^^;

My mom has also said. "Well I guess collecting dolls is better then doing drugs." ^^; I guess she's right.

    17. when i got oriha who was my first doll, i opened her in front of my family and my in -laws. the whole group freaked out about her nipples. my mother in law said "is she cold or something! get her a shirt."
thus a crappy shirt was made....

    18. Just a couple of days ago I was looking at the thread here showing basically every doll body ever lined up, showing heights and stuff.

My sister came in and said:

"Wow. That's a lot of naked men."

Then we both burst out laughing. xD

    19. My family usually stared at them and you can feel the word creepy coming out of their mouths. My fiancée mostly wonders what am I doing with a nude doll and changing her clothes xD I definately get "creepy" a lot regarding dolls, of any kind from people who don't have or care about them, which I'm butter so it slips ;)

    20. I am moving into some student housing, and that means living with total strangers:
Mom: "Maybe you just don't have to TELL them you have ...dolls. Not until you get to know them."
Me:"...I think that's something you should ask people if they're okay with BEFORE you sign a contract to live with them."
