1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What are some of your favourite individual artist/small company dolls?

Jul 8, 2021

    1. I have a couple - I love my bimong crew , but I have beautiful petite beauties 30cm from ptichka, Ana Pikacha, and Smila. They’re dainty, very possible and petite. Easy to find clothing for and have a diverse look.

    5. I really like Dollpamm and Birdcube! The latter especially considering the sculpts are so cool in a creepy way!

NECRO EDIT: I regret not mentioning JSDoll when I first posted this. I have one of their heads and I saw more of their stuff via the dealer MyDollection. I have to say their sculpts are up there with Birdcube on the level of creativity they show!

    7. Lillycat is my favorite artist doll maker. The sculpts are so unique and instantly recognizable. Their bodies are also so lovely and one of a kind. Plus, Kitty Jolie was what made me fall in love with the hobby and I feel quite sentimental about it.. :pout:

    8. Simply Divine/Stinesculpture hands down! My Thomas from there is probably my favorite doll in my entire collection and one of my first “grail” dolls <3 I also love Little Rebel - Kaylar being my favorite but I love Andre too!!

    9. Dlace for sure. I absolutely love the little mechanisms he manages to fit into little resin dolls. The dichotomy between the delicate sculpts and inhuman parts is just beautiful. Honestly most of his stuff is too geared towards horror for my taste but it’s hard not to appreciate the creativity and artistry that goes into his sculpts. Personally I’m in love with his Statue of Liberty head - it spins!!

    10. I have a new favourite among my old faves. @fengxian_jiu makes very inspiring and interesting sculpts. I am more than excited about the dolls they make since the facial features fit my tastes perfectly.

    11. I’m a big fan of YiCen. I also really like the new direction ATS Studio is taking with their Sins series.

    12. I have discovered Dream High Studio recently. Immediately fell in love with their dolls.

    13. Nina's Dolls! I have a Saejin and she's absolutely gorgeous and poses amazingly well. And she fits into clothes that I had readily available from OT dolls!

    14. Whale Tower is fairly small I believe, and I am still SO obsessed with their dragon, Rafayeh. (Mine is all I post about anymore, despite having a couple dozen other dolls... :sweat)
Their Abyssia doll is really cool too, even if she isn't quite my style. I've never actually seen an octomaid doll pulled off, before her!

I'm also fond of Twigling, Amicus Dolls, Cuarto, and Faewood dolls. Amicus has another dragon I really like (little toad man!!! So cute!!!). Faewood is doing really cool things with resin, like tattoos carved and poured directly into the dolls and slime dolls with transparent resin and inclusions. Twigling has some of my favorite facial sculpts and I'm obsessed with the purple resin they use. And Cuarto leaving the hobby before I could order one of their animal dolls gutted me, they were some of the best I've ever seen...I'm so glad I was able to find a Möbius secondhand on Instagram. He's one of my treasures.

    15. Joydoll, the Chinese sculptor. I love her 1/3 head sculpts (and have one of them), they have a kind of timeless, "western classical" look, and the sculpting is outstanding. Besides resin dolls and heads, she's made occasional props, an elegant bust stand, and a certain "head holder" which seems like a very handy quality-of-life tool for painting faceups. (Instead of holding the doll head when painting, you attach it to the tool, and hold that instead.) Joydoll seems like the quintessential artisan, I love both her sculpts and how she's contributed to the BJD community at large.

    16. same! Huisdoll and SolarWindDolls are also amazing creators

    17. I can't recommend Maskcatdoll enough. I also love Alice in Labyrinth but I don't own a doll from them yet (most likely next year). Everyone who's dealt with AiL speaks highly of them but somehow they're not very popular.

    18. I recently got a Creatures Dolls Absinthe, and I absolutely love her. Her inhuman appearance, posabiliy, and quality. Everything the artist makes is super unique, so they aren't too common.

    19. He is my favorite doll artist!

I love sculpts from @ Fengxian_jiu and also the Voice Dolls by @ YukilovesComic
