What are the worst things you’ve seen happen to a doll?

Worst thing I’ve seen from someone else was the aftermath of a house fire—-person was safe (thankfully) but the dolls were severely burnt. As for my own experience, I left a nanuri 19-2 head in box with a flower magnet...it scratched her head :-( it’s not totally awful but it makes me really, really sad.

I didn’t even see your post until after I posted mine.....we definitely saw the same thing.

 

I've never had a doll become destroyed, but I have had some of its pieces broken because of my cats. One doll I had has a wing attached its back, but my cat knocked him over and the wig broke! Then my doll had a mask on, my cat knocked over the doll and it also broke! LOL. I be sure to close my door so my cats cant get in lol.

 

Oh lord, yours took a dive too? It wasn't your adorable doll that I was recalling, it was a fullset EID Swat Rex at one of the trunk shows in a lovely ebony resin. Unless you've been holding out more lovely dolls that I haven't seen yet.

 

A lot of the things I've seen were already mentioned here, but back when I lived in another city and was attending meets there, one of the regular attendees of our meets arrived in obvious distress--upset and furious, because as she was getting ready to head over, her dog had absolutely destroyed one of her most expensive dolls. Just about every part of the doll was chewed on and damaged. A while later, she sold the doll to another local, because she couldn't bring herself to do anything with the damaged doll due to the bad feelings surrounding the experience (can't say I blame her!); that hobbyist was fixing her up last I saw, though I've been away and out of touch with them for years now.

 

As above, one of the worst stories to me is the Mandarake DD "mod" seller....I have also have had the unfortunate chance of coming across other....adult "modded" DollfieDreams....Eugh....

Oh gosh, I think I follow the same people, because I saw the restoration of that DD, along with the other . . . unfortunate mods. Her face was absolutely mangled, but at least she cleaned up quite nicely! I can't imagine trying to repair the others . . .

 

See this just makes me want to know even more.

The worst I've ever encounter was the first doll I ever had (which I don't honestly even remember the sculpt of but know it was and SD sized Dream of Doll) standing strong and then falling forward in slow motion to mock me. His ring finger snapped off and flew several feet.
It was reattached and not too bad but it was traumatic at the time.

 

After 13 years in the hobby, the three that I've actually witnessed that I remember best that won't give away personal details or be too specific to risk upsetting anyone:

1. We were at a doll meet in a park and an SD took a tumble off a rock wall we were using for a photo shoot and landed face first in the gravel. Miraculously, the doll took no damage (and good thing because this boy was PRETTY!! ), but I definitely felt a moment of panic!

2. At another meet, I had my Doll Chateau Faramita sitting on a table and a little kid randomly wandered over and grabbed him. I don't deal well with children, especially not unattended grabby children, and I'm so thankful that someone else who was better with kids than me was able to get him back unharmed and explain to the mom why they're not for kids.

3. I used to sometimes take my dolls to work when I worked as a secretary for a lawn care business. During parts of the year, things were very slow and as long as my work was done and I was available to take calls, I could do pretty much whatever I wanted, so I'd take doll projects in to work on them. Once when I was sewing for my girl, one of the lawn techs came in with filthy hands, grabbed her and flipped her upside down to see if she had underwear under her dress. Never took a doll to work again.

 

I left my Volks Megohime at home for 3 years when I was a university student. One day, I came back home and found out that my room was infested with termites! (That time I was pulling my book out of the shelf and there you go, termites...) So, I asked my brother to help me clean up my room and then he found something even worse. The original box that came with her was seriously damaged by termites!! (when I touched it, it turned into a dust right before my eyes...) I tried to check the inside and found out that my doll was covered with termites tube stains!!!! Some of her clothes were pretty much damaged. Luckily, the COA, her original wig and outfit were in a plastic bag, so it was perfectly fine. Right after that, I remembered cleaning her for like 3 hours because the tube stain was pretty thick and I didn’t want to damage her original faceup. Surprisingly, after finished cleaning her, her faceup didn’t seem to fade at all.

Here is what is left of her box after the incident. So, I swore to myself that I would never leave my doll in that room anymore.


Anyway, after I graduated, I moved to somewhere else and brought my dolls with me. So that they will never be eaten by termites ever again. (My Megohime is doing fine too and will get a new faceup soon!)

 

Oh god I have been summoned. Setting the scene, I found that doll on Yahoo Japan where from the pictures it was very clear that she had body modifications... Think hentai p*rn elongated nipples and her private parts had been deepened.

I really wanted the head so I bought her and got ready to scrub and disinfect her JUST IN CASE.

So she comes home. I disassemble her, turn her around and find... A sculpted butthole (slide 3, so no risk in seeing that right away when you open the link).

Cue me rushing to take a picture because I mean, SCULPTED BUTTHOLE?? Also that's water in the butthole (what a sentence) and not some gloss or so cause I was mid scrub and did not have the presence of mind to dry her before inflicting this scary find on everyone I know

She's happily on a new body now, looks great and the old body went to a friend who likes rescue projects XD

@dunceclown rejoice, I do! Just of the nipples and it's from the front which does not show the sheer length of them but that's probably for the better. Found a "better" one in full resolution to zoom in for nipples and genital mods lol

I've seen too many of the dd crotch mangler's work. they were um.. prolific huh?

There was someone's resinsoul who got crushed in transit and the box appeared to have been run over with a forklift (there were two evenly spaced prong holes) which shattered the resin into teensy bits.
So sad for the owner.

I also recall the expensive doll who was banned from entering the country because the customs people decided it was "pornographic" and the owner had to travel across the border, get the doll, sand his bits off and then was permitted to bring him home.
YIKES.

 

The worst I have seen would be Dollfie onahole.

The most unfortunate thing I saw, would be a photo of the remains of the dolls after a fire in the fellow collector's apartment.
