What are you Doll Plans for 2014?

I plan to
-buy a Switch Humming boy body
-find a decent wig for my SG Sabik
-finish making books for my chicline bookstore
-make the chicline bookstore a little green area for their dog with a cobbled walkway to the shop door
-go to Dollism!
-clear out all my extra clothes and accessories
-celebrate the eventual arrival of FL Steam cat Mio and Soom Wolf the Knight

 

- I plan to get a luts- boru (girl version) and a volks charlotte.
- learn more about faceuo
- get use to my new camera
- make cloth and accessories by myself.

 

To get my first doll. Simple yet acheivable.

 

Get a lot of cool clothes made for the doll I'm working on and hopefully try my hand at making professional looking shoes for him.

 

-restore jono. baby's first restoration/mod. so excited.
-make pants for both dolls. i've got a lovely gray plaid for it.
-finish kit's faire dress / make surcoat.
-finish that freaking daybed. you already have the wood cut and sanded. just sit down and nail the darn thing together.
-maybe learn to make shoes.

 

Oh, so many plans, so little time!

Go to the LA Sumika and order my Volks F-33.
Check out the the Korean BJD Show in LA in April.
Learn how to use my airbrush so I can paint my DollZone Moment.
Make a lot of doll jewelry.
Actually make some doll clothes instead of just collecting fabric.
Go to Dollism USA in September.
Buy one of those wonderful double-jointed DollChateau bodies for one of my floating heads.
Sculpt something. A head, a hat, a hand, I don't care what but just...something.

 

1. Practice face ups. I've only done like 4 in my life so I've got a loooong way to go.
2. Improve my sewing big time. I can already see improvement the more I do it too, so that's exciting.
3. Purchase a Doll in Mind Benetia.
4. Maybe a Doll Chateau Cyril
5. Make a wig, I really wanna try and make a wig.
6. Make room for a desk so I can store my dolly supplies in an organized manner.
7. Find the appropriate wig for my Doll Chateau Colin.
8. Acquire more shelf space so my dolls don't feel so I dunno...jam packed into one space.

This is a really cool topic and a lot of fun to answer and read other people's responses. ^-^

 

Dolls/stuff I'm receiving so far in 2014:

- All the bonuses from the Sarang events (including MnF Sarang head); LtF Mio's fullset stuff

Stuff I plan to buy in 2014:
- Leekeworld wigs if they have a summer event like last year/year before(?)
- Glass eyes so my dolls finally have correct eye colors ;-;
- ALL the fabric

Stuff to do for my dolls this year:
- Learn to sew so I can make all their cute clothes
- Learn to do faceups!

Wooooo, it's going to be a busy year. Going to try to abstain from buying actual dolls this year (the FL girls don't count, I ordered them last week ;P) so I can focus on finishing the ones I have.

 

My doll plans for 2014 is to have hair for my dolls, full background stories for all my dolls, a bed for the twins, and a set of clothes day and now for all of them. And maybe a coffin case to store them in =D

 

I'm literally doubling my collection what with my Christmas present dolls so the plan is clothes clothes clothes! And eyes and props and possibly wigs if I get sick of making my own.

Probably inevitably an impulse doll or too as well but I don't have any doll purchases planned right now.

- Develop more of a character and backstory for my boy (I have ideas for the characters for the dolls on my wishlist but I don't work on my current doll enough)

For 2014 my doll resolutions are:

#1. No impulse doll purchases!!!!!!
#2. Only buy the dolls that are on my wishlist (Pip Human by Kaye Wiggs, Trudi Himstedt, a Jan Shackelford Halloween doll that I previously sold) and no more than 1 per month or less if the one for the previous month was more than $500 (which most of my dolly purchases tend to be), in other words, no more than $500 per month spent on dolls period. These do not include the many doll purchases I have already made on preorder.
#3. Sell, sell, sell!!!! WAY too many dolls and need to sell about 1/2 to 3/4's of what I have now.
#4. Keep these resolutions!!!!!!!! I make them every year and then cave b4 Jan is even over!!!

My BIG plan for this year is my first SD-- it was a long, rocky road where Life kept sapping my doll budget at every turn. Groceries, rent, travel at the holidays, family obligations, and various necessities around the home, things needing to be replaced... it would all be under control right up until I had some savings accumulated and then something would come up.

The doll in question has changed-- for a long time I was looking at getting my first girl, but that... that's been back-burnered.

I've now worked out a careful budget to bring home an Iplehouse nYID Patrick within the year (with some clothes and shoes so the poor guy isn't naked for who-knows-how-long).

My other, less spend-y plans:
-FACEUPS! All the boys (and some off-topics of all genders) need new faceups BADLY and I need to make the time, clear the workspace, find my materials, and DO IT
-CLOTHES! I have a huge fabric stash and most of it was bought with Vince in mind. I've vowed not to buy MORE fabric until I use what I've got.
-PHOTOGRAPHY! I never set up environment photo shoots... even though my boys have some furnishings and their own little corner. For years now I've had a little Christmas tree, and I never set it up for a photoshoot before I travel away from home for the holidays... This is the year I actually take pictures of the boys in 'their' home.

And most importantly... MEETS! I've really dropped the ball on socializing this past several months, basically, and I miss being part of a community. I haven't been involved online much, but I really miss actually... going to meets and laughing and talking with real people.

1. Start collecting my main four characters I used to roleplay, starting with Emma (Tan Delf Arwen). I've been iffy about having them in resin form for a very long time, but I think now I really want them...
2.Redo everyone's faceups!
3.Get everyone into outfits I can see as their "default." Ranmaru, Francis, Momiji and Fennel left to go.
4. Take more pictures!
5. No Shinydoll Chizune till I at least bring Emma home!
6. Get everyone "weirder."
7. Maybe make a doll tumblr.
8. Talk more to other collectors!
9. ACTUALLY TAKE PHOTOS
10. Look more at clothes that are commercially available, so I can sew things that are even WEIRDER.
11. WEIRDER. experiment aesthetically some more.

 

I'm a little late, but...


1) Make more tutorials, progress shoots, how-to videos, etc. Sharing my techniques will benefit the community AND help keep me motivated!
2) Cast something in resin myself, at least an accessory
3) Learn to use a DSLR camera on more than just auto mode
4) Dye and clothe New Girl. Name her, too.
5) Write at least a bit more of the dolly backstory down.

 

My biggest plan for 2014 is to buy a Dollmore Trinity Elisya (hope to collect enough money!);

My second plan is to buy some nice wigs for my Iple Ashanti (poor girl: she's only one decent wig now!);

My third and last plan is to finish my sewing course and begin to make some nice clothes for myself and my sweet dollies.
