What are you Doll Plans for 2014?

Let's see...

1. Get bodies for two of my Dollfie Dreams. I already have one.
2. Get face ups on Pallas, Kenyon, and Jiro. Done
3. Get more clothes for certain dolls.
4. Get shoes from an order! They're at the GO runner's house but she has yet to ship. I guess the season is keeping her busy. Done
5. Was looking at a doll and noticed a chip in his faceup so now I need another done!
6. Minifee Rhiea. And then a boy to go along with her. on layaway from DDE

 

Well, I think I bought my last doll for a long time (she shipped a couple of days ago, yay!) plus I don't have a job right now, so I'm not going to be buying any more dolls for a long time. I think 2014 will let me focus more on stuff like making clothes and improving my dolls' wardrobes, eyes, and wigs. I would really like to start getting high-quality glass or urethane eyes for my dolls, but that's going to take a while since I have a lot of dolls and I'm picky about their eyes

 

Hmm...

1. Get a faceplate for my Puki body, and a sleeping face for Spring.
2. Send Spring out for a faceup, and Heks & Lille out for faceups and blushing.
3. Get the current crew a pair of new eyes and a new wig each.
4. Finalize the design and start building the display diorama for the pukis.
5. Get Heks and Lille's accessories.
6. Try to sew something for my dolls!
7. Bring home at least one and no more than four dolls on my wishlist.

 

• Start and finish Rin's (Crobidoll Tei's) layaway
• Save up and pay off my DD Miku~
• Spoil my lovelies with much needed clothes!
• Get Aoya (Unoa Sist) his eyes and -potentially- body
• Practice photography harder!

 

Several of my crew *still* need face-ups.
I really do need to do something about that. It's just harder than it ought to be to pick out who I want to send them to.

Other than that, I have no firm plans... I already own all of the dolls that I want, and so I don't have any intention of adding anyone specific to the crew. It'll just depend on what comes out next year, or what strikes my fancy. I've learned never to say never about new dolls, but at the moment there aren't any new additions on the horizon.

 

out of the million things i want to get done, here's just a few:
-buy bodies for my remaining floating heads
- sell the extra floating heads i dont need
- clothe all my dolls (yes, some of my crew are still naked XD)
- build armor for 2 dolls (both girls)
- find CORRECT wigs for several dolls
- get a better fitting silicone wig cap for most of my dolls
- buy everyone shoes (only two dolls actually have shoes)
- get my little fox girl
- get a white rabbit doll :3

 

I'm hoping to get IPlehouse KID Lisa when she goes basic, but I won't get her 'til late summer.

 

I've got a lot of money-spending I foresee in my dolly future XD .

1. Purchase a BlueFairy TF Emilie boy and more BF shoes.
2. Keep an eye out for a BlueFairy Baked Skin Kyle or Louis Dandy boy (same as last year) .
3. Purchase and try at least one pair of Enchanted Doll eyes.
4. Do a Nine9Style clothing splurge.
5. Sew, embroider and pattern at least one full Korean hanbok outfit.
7. Create or purchase some doll furniture (chair/sofa, shelves, clothing rack, etc.).
8. Redo all my doll's faceups at least once.
9. Photograph my dolls more.
10. Sell my Chicline Rou and as many of my other unwanted doll things as possible.

Get Doll Chateau Christina and Dolores. Possibly Iplehouse EID Asa. Also a possible RS 1/3 size female. And a LOT of shoes. I never have enough shoes for them.

Well I managed to accomplish most of my smaller goals for 2013... I'd only planned on buying one or two dolls and focusing on their wardrobes. That didn't happen. I decided to do all my big buying instead, since money will be tighter next year. Eleven dolls were ordered (still waiting on one doll and a head to ship, but all paid for). So while I expected last year to be the year of finishing dolls at home, I'm hoping that will be 2014 instead XD

Basic Goal for 2014 is to have "dollie bonding time" with each of my dolls. It'll be 2-3 weeks at a time spent with each doll where I will focus on finishing them and flushing out their characters. Basic goals will be to:
* Do/re-do faceups if needed
* Faceup sleeping heads, do body blushing, manicures/pedicures if needed
* Any tattoos or piercings relevant to their characters
* Formally write out their character bio/profile and rough outline of their part in the overall story so I can finally start writing out some of my ideas!
* Make sure they each have 2-3 wigs and 1-2 pairs of eyes just for them
* Sew them one or two specific/character accurate outfits
* Perform any dollie maintenance needed like cleaning, restringing, sueding
* Photograph them lots!!

So those are my specific plans... general plans just include some basic things like:

* More sewing
* Acquiring props
* Work on indoor photography
* Continue to purge wig/eyes/etc that I no longer need
* Buy a dollfie dream! I'd wanted to do that this year but because of events and wanting to complete the resin family that particular side project took a back seat. I want to build one from scratch and completely customize it myself, I expect this will be one of my first purchases of the new year XD
* Avoid buying any more new dolls unless I sell one to fund it. My doll plans always seem larger and more grand than what I realistically feel comfortable with. So 2014 might see me downsizing a bit, but it won't be until after I complete my above plan for individual dollie time

 

My plans include getting all the dolls on my wishlist (probably not at all feasable considering I'm about to move into a new house and pay a tonne of rent) and kitting my girls out in the gear they've been harrassing me for~

Also, I'm going to go to more local meetups and participate in one of the local Japanese culture festival's BJD festivities~ Oh, and get more photos of my girlies!

 

Mod Work:
1. Suede and wire all my dolls
2. Buy an eye bevel to hollow the cups for Falx and Thrên's wing mods
3. Sculpt and cast wings for Falx and Thrên
4. Sculpt and cast tails for Mira and [Breccia]
5. Blush all my fantasy parts
6. Finish touching up various default face-ups

Props and Accessories:
1. Continue planning and eventually finish my prop project (365 themes, 365 props).
2. Have at least one wig, pair of eyes and complete outfit for each character by the end of the year.
3. Complete a collapsible photography backdrop for each of my characters
4. Make custom wigs for my dolls that require very specific colours

Finances:
1. Sell off all fantasy parts not already associated with a character
2. Buy fewer dolls in 2014 than 2013 (current 2013 count: 1 full doll, 4 heads, 2 sets of fantasy parts)
3. Prioritise getting some Little Gems over more large dolls, if possible.

Misc:
10. Work on dolly organisation (perhaps replace current setup with dedicated wooden drawers/shelves)

 

Hmm lets see, I think for 2014 my doll plans may revolve around finishing the dolls I already have rather the focusing on new dolls with one or two exceptions

> Finish Salem's modifications
> Get Maddox a faceup and finish any mods for him
> Sew more clothes for my entire resin crew, not just for Paige my smallest
> Make a make shift light box and try to learn how to take better photos
> Buy a Puki as a congratulations if I graduate
> If LLdT release Ludwig then buy him too!

> DO NOT BREAK AND BUY ANY OTHER DOLLS!

 

ohh yay! it's good to write these things down.

- get my first new BJD in 5 years (ltf bisou! I might be able to get him before 2014 tho..!)
- sell the remainder of my old dolls (to fund new dolls, saving 50% for more important finances haha)
- sew vigorously and hopefully start a line of clothing...
- get MSC and start playing with faceups again
- get a big taobao order off
- buy a polarizing lens and continue practicing with lighting

 

- Suede my doll... she really needs it haha
- Work more on sewing clothes and making accessories; I originally planned to do a lot more of this but it just didn't happen this year
- Make a diorama! I want one so bad!
- Get/make more props
- Get/give my doll a new faceup
- Try body blushing
- Get more into the photography aspect of the hobby
- Save up and buy the next doll on my wishlist!

 

1. Finally buy bodies for my 2 floating DD heads at home.
2. Finish the 2 DD customs I'm currently working on.
3. Getting a DD Aoko and make her into a custom.
4. Buy my first resin doll *3*

 

Ahahaha, it's so fun to realize how much our plans have changed since last year's plans... Last year's plans were mainly that our first girl, DIM Benetia, would arrive already..
Now that we have gotten 4 members to our (doll) family, we have these kind of plans in mind:

1. Give fresh face-ups for most, if not all, family members.

2. Wait for the arrival of two new members..

3. Buy stuff and get prepared for the arrival of Dollmore Lusion Dahlia, who will join us during the summer

4. Ehm.. A new plan that just appeared out of nowhere.. Get prepared for the arrival of one 1/3 girl and buy her stuff..

5. Assist my partner as she makes doll clothes as her final work in school

those are perhaps the most important ones, I think I could make a long list if I really started thinking but I guess this is good for now

1. Buy my floating head, a Hyacinth blossom-doll head called Chaste, a 70cm DollChateu adult male body.
2. Re-do Neeko's face-up.
3. Get Fox and Gretel face-ups.
4. Re-string Neeko with stronger elastic.
5. Tighten Seraphine and Cesavier's elastic.
6. Buy yo-SD twins? Not sure of this one yet.

 

Save for my first bjd! very excited I'm finally going to into the hobby properly!

 

My plans for 2014

1. Not buy any new dolls while I wait for my fall Miku preorder
2. Plan nice outfits for my dolls and make/buy them
3. Maybe open up for face-up commissions
4. Improve my photography skills!
5. Sculpt accessories and fantasy parts for my dolls
6. Finish sculpting my original sculpts for casting and sale

Wah, there's a lot I want to do, I gotta keep from buying new dolls and focus on improving the ones I already have! Unfortunately I have no idea what DDs Volks might release this year so it might be very difficult. It's easier to hold off on buying non-limited dolls, but I tend to get caught up in a frenzy over limited DD releases.
