1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What are you Doll Plans for 2014?

Nov 24, 2013

    1. After many happy years of setting goals here on DoA, (and working very hard to accomplish them) last year was an epic fail in that everything suddenly changed mid-year. Instead of building up my collection even further (which was the original intention,) I felt the great urge to downsize dramatically to only one doll!!!:o (The storyline I'd worked on for years literally distilled itself down into one solitary character...making all others in my collection redundant.) So given the dramatic change in my collection, these are my new plans for 2014:

      1. Finally get over the shock of downsizing to one doll from my previous collection (I've had some difficulty with that!)
      2. Go through the doll clothing I have left and revamp it all to fit her
      3. Decide once and for all whether or not to expand her artwork!
      4. Start taking photos again
      5. Re-shell Sugar (my longtime gaming companion)

    2. so, i'm still new to the hobby (atleast i consider myself to be) but I do have 2 girls, 1 loongsoul girl on layaway with MOC, and am planning to order 2 doll leaves sometime this month for xmas... and since i got so many dolls, i may have to take a small break for 2014!
but, if i were to dream big...
      1. Try to get a job, the GEd i've been working on ,and a drivers license so i can get a job and get moar dolls!
      2. build up my clothes collection for all my dolls.
      3. Maybe finlly find the perfect sculpt for my favorite OC Anika.
      4. learn to sculpt horns?

    3. My plans are:
      1) For my first doll (a customised DZ Annie) to arrive, have photoshoots, have her wigs styled (by me), for me to make outfits for her, and general 1st/new doll lovelyness! ^_^
      2) Get the DCKid08 male body for my hybrid project, and see if the DZ Freddy2 event head will work with it to shell the male lead character from the same story as my girl.
      3) Buy a head if Freddy doesn't work out (possibly sell Freddy to do this).
      4) Hopefully go to LDoll!!
      5) Fingers crossed for a pukipuki Pong (possibly pink skin, not white or yellow) to be Sky, my little piece of summer to carry about wherever i go. I plan for her to have a few wigs in shades of blue and maybe a white, fluffy one, blue or yellow/gold/orangy eyes, tiny tattoos of suns, clouds, wind knots etc
      :)

    4. My amazing plan is to save, save, save!
I don't have a doll yet bit that's mostly my goal to get one.

    5. I have so many plans!

Dolls to buy: Minifee Chloe, Minifee Ante, Pukifee Flora (and maybe Minifee Kyle)
      Then:
      1. Practise my sewing skills
      2. Start learning to do faceups
      3. Maybe learn how to make wigs

I want to get more involved in the hobbie, instead of just staring at my dolls. I'd like to make things for them!

    6. Once again, I am going to try and not spend so much on dolls and doll items, but I will probably fail miserably... as usual. :(

    7. Can't know if it all works out but my dolly-goals are:

Buying my four men from Iplehouse (I love Iplehouse they are the best, no "huge head on skinny body" issues, great skintones etc^^.. but thats not the point so..)

1st - Doll Choice: IH nYID Theo (NS) - Junya Mochizuki
      2nd - IH EID Bichun (WS) - Nemesis/Charles Alastor
3rd - IH SID Felix (PGS) - Yukito Kazama
      4th - IH EID ??? (SRS) - Kazunori Honma

(I like how all of them need different skin tones ^^)

I highly doubt that I will be able to buy them all in one year, but I would really be happy to get at least 2 of them. They are couples so whenever I get one it will kill me to wait until I can afford his partner.

Theo (Junya) will definitely be the first one.. I love the Theo mold. I wish there would be more photos of this mold.

Good luck to everyone with their wishes^^

    8. Weeeelll... Some of my 2014 plans got determined literally within the last two days, when I suddenly plunged to buy a tiny I just discovered, whose order period was up today.

So... I guess, first order of business is

      1. Face-up, hair, clothes and shoes for her (collecting eyes finally gave me an advantage because I'm sure I have at least one pair that would satisfactorily suit her for the time being). At least some in-character clothing if I don't feel up for making her space-suit.

      2. Make Peppermint some new, in-character clothes. Poor boy's been having to make do with a "close enough" for far too long.

      3. Buy that sunlight Volks Elena, or whichever sculpt comes up between now and $1000 saved in doll money that more closely resembles my character. Once again, I already got eyes for her, but she'll need all of the same as the little one before her.

And in fantasy land where Iplehouse makes that amazonian body for the EID women, I think I'll have to get me one (or two) of those...

    9. ♥ Make new friends here on DOA. Since I am all shy to people
♥ Saving for shoes, eyes, and wigs.
♥ Learn how to sew clothes (especially a tourses)
      ♥ Practicing doll faceup

    10. •get a female body for my Dollshe Orijen head
      •a face-up for Lumedoll Rana
•sew clothes for MA Saiph (because nobody is selling clothes in her size ;O; )
      •new eyes for Madrugada

    11. Buy more clothes for the my msd and sd
Send them off for face ups and blushing
      Buy three more minifees
      Go to meet ups

    12. Hmmm doll plans, actually not that many. Well um actually I think I take that back, but anywho!

1: Do myself or commission faceups for all my blank dolls.
2: Finish saving for and buy Granado Nuevo body for Cato's head.
3: Finally buy my Souldoll Chiron/ResinSoul hybrid boy Heiss and outfit him appropriately.
      4: Finish Neo's outfit off.
5: Finish styling everyone with the appropriate outfits.
6: Spoil Clove and my other dolls with more clothing.
7: Learn to take better pics of my dolls and take them to show people.

    13. Save and purchase a Rosenlied (Hopefully Daisy unless at the time they have an awesome limited on the go) and maybe start saving for a third doll. Maybe a littlefee anke or boy and girl Nailo

    14. 1. Hope no one buys the doll on the marketplace I desperately want before I have the money to buy it.
      2. Try to save up money for other dolls on wishlist, since I made myself promise I wouldn't add others to the wishlist until I bought most of the dolls that are on it.
      3. Make more clothes for my existing dolls
      4. Find props and learn to take better pictures

    15. I almost succeeded in sticking to this year's doll plans, so here come some more :) Partly based upon what I did this year doll-wise.

#1 Find alternative materials for eye-making. The smaller sizes look perfect with the materials I have, but the larger (12mm+) ones still have some room for improvement.
#2 Make more wigs. Maybe use some different materials / techniques here as well.
#2b. In the process of #2, get better at making wigs.
#3 Learn moar crafts! And work on the ones I picked up this year. (More specifically, polymer clay stuffs and the like ... also, furniture.)
#4 Continued from this year's plans - get as many of the main crew home as possible.
#5 Now that my doll sewing has improved a bit, maybe really make some clothes for sale ... if I dare. :sweat

    16. 1. Get a Minifee Mirwen Boy!
      2. Get more clothes for everybody
      3. Build 2 more diorama rooms (one for my F60 and one for my MNF)
      4. Send some kiddos to the spa
      5. Figure out some new photography techniques
      6. Finally elaborate more on all of my characters
      7. Go to more meetups

    17. My plans for next year are pretty simple:

      1) Learn to take better pictures of my dolls with my new DSLR camera I'm getting for Christmas
      2) Get an M-line body for my Juri 13 head
      3) Find a Teenie Gem Picro
      4) Avoid temptation of new dolls and concentrate on what I have.

    18. Same as they were for 2013 I think! Take more pics and downsize my collection. I've recently become a little overwhelmed by the size of my collection.

    19. Update: 12/04/13
      - As of 2 days ago I paid ALL outstanding debts (credit card) off ^^ I have only 2 layaway payments due in the new year for Chiron left!
      - I need to check out the Ebay selling situation (the contract scares the **** outa me). If it's doesn't seem too big a hassle start selling of excess Barbie stuff. Definitely try to sell off some on Kijiji (selling mom's hospital bed worked!) This will be a long term project as I need to detach from 20+ years of collecting the stuff. -_-

      1. Learn to restring!
      2. Buy proper tools to restring.
      3. Pay off my Chiron centaur and bring him home! (aiming for Feb/March of 14)
      4. Send his and the human head I also snagged this year 'back' to Soul Doll to get matched face ups (I love thier human Chiron face).
      5. Buy camera accessories (namely a tripod and light reflectors).
      6. BRING HOME IH DEXTER! ... Before he kills me on arrival for making him wait ><
      7. Find safe place for Soul Doll Chiron centaur to live O_o. (may require a case?)
      8. Get IH nYID... (waffling on which head though, a second Emilia or Erica)
      9. Wade through IH's new items and make a choice as to what will work before just buying it ALL ><
      10. Camera extra's! (tripod, and lighting extra's)

      Ongoing projects.
      6. Sort and tidy up doll wardrobe... ongoing process ><. But needing new 'game plan' of where to put stuff.
      7. Get sewing corner 'usable'.
      8. Try out sundress 'test' pattern.
      9. See if 'in home sewing lessons' are possible? (really hard to find ones that are not too advanced).
If Camera shop gets 'classes' running take a beginner's lesson?

    20. Oh, my doll plans!

I plan to slow down a bit. Or at least, I plan to. We'll see how that goes. I wasn't able to get a lot of the dolls on my 2013 list due to lack of employment, so 2014 might be the year of catching up.

I want to complete my Wolf&Crow cast, so I'm planning on either an Iplehouse Shane or Victor to be my Iplehouse Eric's big (somewhat evil) brother. I'll also be upsizing one of the characters from an e-line Lance to an Iplehouse Daniel or a Fairyland Woosoo, and getting him a big brother -- I'm thinking maybe a secondhand crobidoll Yeon-ho, or someone new from Little Monica.

I'm hoping to shell a few of my other characters next year, too, but I'm not decided on their sculpts. It depends on what new faces come out next year, or what I luck out and find on the secondhand market.

In terms of the hobby itself, I need a place to actually put all these dolls, because right now they're scattered throughout my apartment. I'd like to buy a shelf unit from ikea and see what I can do about modifiying it so my resin has a place to hang out all together. Thinking about everyone I want to get in the next year, however, makes me realize I might need two shelf units... hah!

I also want to start my own vlog. It won't only be about dolls, but dolls will be the main subject. It'll be less informative and more personal, as a way to connect with other hobbyists. I also want to do it as a way to teach my sisters about the hobby, because they're shown a lot of interest but are still just kids, and I love far away from them so I can't really teach them in person.
I've already begun setting up my 'sets' for vlogging, and which is another reason I want a shelf unit... so all my dolls can be in the same shot as my big head!

Lastly, I want to buy from other companies. 2012 and 2013 made me very partial to Fairyland and Iplehouse. I want to expand beyond what I already have in my collection. I also want to buy some fixer-upper dolls and see what I can do about restoring them so they have a new lease on life.
