What are you Doll Plans for 2014?

that's literally how all my hobbies work, not just dolls, and has for as long as i can remember really. i tend to feel very passionate about something for a certain amount of time and then suddenly shift focus to something else very suddenly. my brain always 'cycles' back around since i rarely lose interest in something permanently, and any time i ever "got rid of" something because i "wasn't into it" any more ended up in regret (because i inevitably did get back into it...) so i just accept the fact that it causes me to be a bit slow and erratic in my projects and then enjoy my hobbies/dolls again whenever my brain shifts gears again.

#1 is improving my photography and photoshop skills, as well as try to take more interesting photos. i'd also like to actually take and upload more pictures than i already do, since i realized i took very few of my dolls this year (or so it feels like)
#2 is improving face-up skills and finishing facing-up and blushing some of my blank dolls/floating heads/unoa faceplates
#3 is kinda an extension of 2, since i have some dolls who just need a little refreshing or modifications like new eyelashes, new eyes, or little details such as i want to give some of my dolls nail color, tattoos, etc
#4 is to buy new bodies for my two MDDs, this is something i have put off for a long time and they're being neglected because of this
#5 is to finish my hunt for certain UNOA dolls or doll parts (faceplates etc..)
#6 is to try and push selling some of my dolls that are not part of my personal/display collection and have just been sitting in their storage boxes for a while now

 

-Buy my first doll! (Hopefully IH Carina with real skin or IH Arvid with Normal skin.)
-learn to suede joints.
-get some clothes for the new doll!
-wistfully sigh about the fact that I can't find a mold I like for a character I have in mind.

 

My doll plans for 2014 are:

- Buy Zaoll Ramie (my Time Watcher is in need of his Supervisor)
- Make an aquarium for E.T., who loves fish
- Make an armchair (this I decided just yesterday)
- Start saving up for my grail (IH Roger)
- Try not to use those savings for other dolls before (like DC Cyril and DZ Raymond)
- Make E.T. a parkas before the snow melts away.
- Start looking into making my Time Watcher his Time Watching self (i.e. making him horns, find a wig and eyes, and make his clothing)
- Try to make my room into TARDIS so I can have more space to put up a diorama for my dolls
- Get a new sewing machine so that I can put up some decent Vito-sized clothing on my etsy shop, without having to sacrifice every other piece of clothing to the Great God Of Terrible Sewing Machines

I can't wait to get started on all the fun stuff to do :3

 

2014 is the "Year of Aeka," so most of my doll plans involve completing my much neglected DD, Aeka.

1. New Faceup (I've already sent her out but I actually planned it for 2014, so it goes here...)
2. Get a nice wardrobe
3. Get nice shoes
4. Get a stain protector
5. More hands
6. Better animetic eyes (other than the homemade ones she's been wearing all this time...)

Non-DD maybes:

1. New faceups for Max and Yuri
2. New clothes for Niki
3. New clothes for Rene
4. Maybe a new jacket for Max, IDK

 

My realistic list is pretty simple this time around:

1. Get a new camera so I can get back into photographing my dolls.
2. Get Jasper a few more outfits/clothing pieces (I love my boy but he's sorely under-represented in the clothing drawer).
3. Get Guppy a pair of shoes, and maybe a new pair for Munkie since there's suddenly huge black scuffs on hers.

Then there's my "Never Going to Happen and Certainly Not in 2014" Acquisition List:

1. Lusion Lillia, especially Bie You Tian Di Fei Ren Jian Lillia.
2. Trinity Lumie.
3. Bimong's Dandelion.
4. Doll Chateau Charles.

 

1. Finish Rosiel's tattoos
2. Sell a floating head who's not doing anything here
3. Put up all the things I don't use for sale

...I'm very lazy when it comes to sell things...

 

in no particular order...
- find a goodlooking MSD guy for my girls
- a Cerisedolls Constantine in caramel
- a open-eyes Cerisedolls Ombre
- do my bjd's face-ups
- improve my sewing skills (they need clothes!!!)
- get better at posing them for photoshoots

 

This year my goal is to SLOW DOWN lololol. I have gone from 1 doll as of last January to 20 including floating heads and pre-orders. So I want to finish off the crew I have and focus on some other hobbies this coming year. So here's a breakdown:

-finish paying off LUTS layaway for Yul Satryesse and Romance Kiwi
-get said Yul a fancy schamncy faceup/body blushing
-buy a body for Nanuri06 head
-find an outfit I actually like for my LUTS Delf Lishe
-buy two more fers for the last of my triplets
-find where that stinkin pair of Camellia Dynasty horns disappeared to
-take more pictures! also work on indoor lighting and possibly buy another backdrop

 

My BJD plans for 2014 are:

• Get tools and things to restring my SD13, Tira
• Learn to restring
• Buy more clothes for Tira
• Take more pictures! Some outside as well as inside
• Make a better space for my dolls
• Buy a body for my Minifee Juri head
• Send my Minifee Juri head for a faceup
• Send my Minifee Chloe, Dael, for a faceup
• Get a new sewing machine
• Learn to sew doll clothes
• Pay off my Dollfie Dream Miku preorder

I think that's about it. >.<
I'll probably think of some more things later. xD

 

Much like Zia89 I want, no, need to put the brakes on. After ordering DC Dolores next week I plan to:

1. Get Lillycat Ninon in January
2. Work on sets and props for photo shoots
3. Work on writing story and developing into little screen plays (photo stories)
4. Shooting story
5. Write article on Surrealism, Hans Bellmer and the Japanese BJD art scene - I'm doing research on the roots of my interest in BJD's (which predates the consumer dolls as we know them) and want this done by June
6. Dolly Convention in Niagara Falls? Perhaps, but only if I get to ride that barrel over the falls...
7. Hopefully expand my doll skills, restringing, perhaps faceups, carving/modding, definitely crafting body parts out of clay...

A lot of the growth this year was due to the expansion of my story and I used Nanowrimo to expand write it out in more detail. I've been working on various props and things and getting dolls etc but next year is really less about buying more dolls and more about putting my pretty ladies out on the street and start shooting the photo story. I want to use my interest in this to generate artwork outside of my normal practice.

 

In no special order
- Get an A-line body for my MNF Siean head
- Sew more clothes for Sadraline (because she has very little to wear, poor thing), hopefully some of her characters wardrobe.
- In the same vein as above, convince my sewing machine it does work, so that I don't have to face SD-sized seams alone.
- Work on my photography with husbands' DSLR
- Get a friend for Pixie

 

1. Get my first doll!
2. Work more hours xD;;
3. I'd also like to learn how to sew!

 

Well some of my plans for 2014 are already getting accomplished. New wigs, eyes and faceup for my two boys. One of them is actually getting shipped off this week for his new face up and I should have him back after the new year. Then I have a guy on layaway that needs clothes. So to the sewing machine!....or the interwebs..all depends on how creative and/or lazy I wish to be :P My ultimate goal is to get a new doll of which I am the first owner. I would really like a doll from LUTS.

 

1) paying off for whatever doll I get during the Christmas Event
2) give my dolls earring holes
3) find a good place to do my photo shoots
4) borrow my dad's camera and figure how it works
5) restring my EID beast (I think he's lose)
6) sign up for sewing class so I can make stuff for my dolls instead of buying buying buying
7) be happy with what I have

 

I would like to get my doll collection organized by:

Finishing dolls - getting face-ups, clothing, bodies etc.
Selling extra doll parts, clothing, some floating heads.
Make a space so dolls are easily accessible but still protected from light.

I've noticed I have doll buying has slowed down and I've spent little time in the MP so next year I would like to tidy up and just enjoy the dolls I have.

 

1. Finish my major family group (that's two bodies and six dolls...)
2. Learn how to take better pictures
3. Not impulse buy anything
4. Get something bigger to put my dolls in
5. Faceups for everyone!
6. Buy lots of clothes because everyone is naked at the moment

I can only dream, haha.

 

1. learn how to do face ups
2. repair damage to my minifee's default face up.
3. Order my first blank doll - minifee mirwen in beauty white, then try to do my own face up for her with a modded brow line.
4. Hope fairyland bring out a new minifee sculpt to go crazy for ( with full set would be great)
Or if not then - order a minifee boy for my lovely girls.
5. start working more towards making outfits for my 65 chloe
6. change the ankle parts on my a line so she can have the mag on feet
7. Buy a large glass fronted unit to house my dolly collection.

 

-get a mature MSD boy
-learn to do faceups
-practice and improve my dolly photography skills (of which I currently have none!)
-make a matching Miku Hatsune cosplay for myself and Nana ^^

 

1. CLEAN OUT THE CLUTTER! (this means clothes, wigs and shoes need to be downsized greatly )
2. Rehome a few dolls that are just "shelf babies"
3. Bring home a DC Agathe and Elizabeth!
4. Get a tripod for the camera
5. Find some new face up artists to breath life into some older dolls who's looks have faded

Ongoing projects:
6. sort out the dolls wardrobe and divide and store by who wears what!
7. try and stay out of the marketplace
