What are your doll plans for 2015?

To buy my first doll.

 

Good to know I'm not the only one who has yet to buy a doll. Hopefully soon!

I just received 2 and have 4 more on the way! Plus, had to dig out one from last year that I didn't get to do a face on yet and one that needs to be redone. I have to be in the right mood. Also have a face commission coming in this week.

Allie made it here and he's absolutely charming. (Somehow his head and body, ordered a month apart from one another from different place, made it on the same day.) HOWEVER, the dollheart outfit I had set aside for him to wear while I get him his actual outfit doesn't fit. He's too swole in the chest. So I'm going to look for something else cute for him to use in the meantime. Also my family was terrified by the urethanes I bought for him, so they have no owner now. XD

 

Updates !

- Buying a whole lot of clothes for my incomming MSD-sized girl (which I've been waiting for almost four months now, I want her to come hoooooome T____T) : still a few to buy, but her wardrobe only need just a few more "essential" pieces, after that it'll be all good -> didn't change, she really needs more clothes.- The Yael Project : Buying a unoa sist fp and a body for my incomming unoa sist winking head -> I've bought the faceplate and will be buying a body before next week.
- Making more and more wigs ! I'd love to start commissions if I'm skilled enough^^ -> I've started commissions, yaaay ! And I'm now making alpaca wigs, too^^
- And I dream to be able to get an artist doll, but I know it's not likely to happen ><

 

I plan to:
-purchase a Feeple60 Moe Chloe
-sell my Iplehouse EID Jessica

Not a big list but hey, at least i'm finally motivated to do something.

 

Well, half the year is over! Time to check how I'm doing so far ...

So my plans for 2015 are:
- Make more outfits for the dolls I already have. in progress. There's always something.
- Find bodies for the story relevant floating heads - still in progress, kinda sorta.
- Find male sculpts I like. Yes! Granado's last guy came home the other week, so that's a clear Yes on this one.
- Research hybriding possibilities for Iplehouse heads, both proportion and resin matches. I love the beefcakes' bodies to bits, but I can't have four SID guys on the same body! One can go on the nYID, but that still leaves two to be hybrided. I'm currently eyeing Granado's bodies. One Granado body came home with said guy. Love it! Planning one more Granado body.
- Make everyone's proper wigs, including replacing some of the oldest heat-resistant fiber ones that are starting to look ratty. Working on it ... one has already been kicked out, but I still haven't found the right mohair for the worst offender.
- Long-term project: Body blushing and manicures for everyone! Also maybe re-do some faceups. Well, the oldest body has been cleaned and re-strung at least. It's waiting for me to find time for sealing and (re-)blushing.
- maybe get (back) into knitting. I found some nice doll-weight variegated yarn and I'd love to be able to knit sweaters ... Nothing here just yet.


Well ... that looks okay-ish. I always knew doll time would be short this year, and that I wouldn't be buying as many dolls as in the past years ... we'll see how this list looks once the summer holidays are over, there should be some doll time to spare.

 

Update 07/01- I passed on Crow the doll but the summer event offered too much to turn down. So BID Bonnie girl is coming home EARLY but she is bringing with her all 4 of the Addiction BID sets and Crow's also ^^. Crow is also according to IH the last 'pirate' themed doll in CH.
I want to get at least ONE entry into IH's Photo Contest!
Emilia is home and in one whole piece! She is gorgeous and Lainie did a wonderful subtle job on her face! So it's like geting a full doll home too.
In the last month I have also won 2 auctions for the JID young lords set AND a never released 'priest' set also for my one day to be home Edwin O_o

0. Buy as little as possible during IH's Carved Heritage 2 series - 4th doll, pass! (outfit got me ><)
1. DECIDE what my twins/triplets will be shelled in! Not sure anymore of my original plans size OR company wise anymore O_o. looking like IH KID's unless a better 'looking' doll company shows up but the size needs to be in that range.
2. Get Leonard from CH RE release with un-blushed short swords and gun! all home 03/23! DONE
3. SID Yur? or SIDw from CH even Putting off actual doll for current month/release periods
4. Get backdrops or at least figure out a decent place to set up in my house for pics. I will have to improvise the backdrops now

-get body for Leeke Noella - done (arrived last week in fact)
-order mori kei outfits for Noella - nope
-go to a doll meet - not yet, but I'll be at the SDCC panel

New plans as of now:
-pay off MNF Liria's layaway
-look for a Delf body for my AES
-get clothes and eyes for Noella (her name is Fujiko now)
-get clothes and eyes for my AES
-find a name for my AES
-get a new face up for my Miyu (hers is chipped and dirty)

I'm getting a raise on my next paycheck. Please keep me from spending it all on doll things.

 

My plans were to order my first doll...
I ordered an Ipldoll Idol girl one plus a free Young girl in the Feb event (currently on their way to me).
I've bought a couple of wigs, outfits and a set of underwear for each of them.
Then I ordered a tiny, which is as i type, on her way back from Thailand with her face-up
...and just yesterday I ordered an Iplehouse BID.

No idea how he snuck in as I was tossing up between an EID boy or girl, definitely not really looking at BIDs but there you go. For a noob to the hobby I will have 4 dolls by southern hemisphere spring. Not a bad effort.

I want to spend more time with the dolls and outfits I have. I do really want an Iplehouse JID male doll but they still haven't created one with a mature enough face sculpt to my liking

I already have a small wardrobe for him. Sigh. My Isar craves a companion.

 

well I'm fairly new to BJD in terms of actually collecting, I've been admiring for much longer. I have my first doll already that arrived just about a month ago. I'm hoping within the next few weeks to order the other two dolls associated with my current dolls story ( Iplehouse custom & Doll Chateau Irma). Definitely by the end of the summer (I've been calculating lol)

I also plan on making the two main dioramas for these dolls since I don't think they're that difficult to put together. I'm also going to continue making more and more clothing for my current one and the ones coming. I just love crafting! I have to redo my current doll's face up, and I would like to make a character blog for them as well, but other than that I'm not really sure.....

I suppose these are just my summer plans though.

Oh, one other thing I'd like to do is go to a couple local dolly meetups this year since now that i finally have a doll I'd feel less awkward.

~ complete my incoming fm60 tan elf celine. I'm thinking of sending her head out for a face-up. Finished!
~ no new dolls until at least mid-year. I held to this rule!
~ update/re-do my mirwen's face-up this summer. Finished!
~ learn to sew and make some basic outfit pieces
~ make an alpaca wig for my mnf chloe. (then think about possibly making a feeple sized one)

July:

~ I would still like to try my hand at sewing which I have not got to yet
~ I would still like to try and make an alpaca wig but it will be SD as I have since sold my MNF
~ As of now, no new dolls for the rest of the year (eeks, tough one..)
~ Give my new Doll Leave Emily a faceup/complete her/figure out her name
~ Project: Wash, de-yellow, restring, give faceup to new secondhand incoming DZ Floy

 

I'm going to order David and Phillippe from Dollshe. And I still dream about Iplehouse Luo. He was my first "want-right-now" Iple doll, and it's so strange that by now I have all the dolls I wanted - except for him.
PS: and I determined to provide a proper outfit for every doll I have. It is a great deal of work, when it is considered that the total number is over 50

Lots being done, very little actually finished. All my modds are taking longer than I thought and I have non-BJD projects too. Progress though.

I could. But these Dollshe guys... if I don't order now, I probably don't get them at all, in view of that rise in prices coming; and it's impossible to choose only one of them, you know.

 

After being away from here and from bjd's for a few years, I am starting my own bjd clothing business. Have attended a bjd show recently and made some sales and some contacts so am good to go. Just about to start an online store.
