1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What do you do with your doll(s) for fun?

Feb 14, 2022

    1. I'm relatively new to BJD's and got into the hobby to sew and create tiny things for dolls, so mostly sewing for them. I usually have whatever doll I'm sewing for sit at my sewing table with me so they're easily accessible to try garments on as I go so I can make adjustments as needed. I also work on my diorama for my dolls, am currently flipping a secondhand doll trailer for them, and plan out what kinds of clothes and props I want to buy or make for them. I'm hoping to go to a meetup sometime soon, but with COVID there really haven't been too many lately.

    2. I have a cute little set to take pictures in, and I love changing their clothes! I like to keep one on my desk for a week or so at a time, then switch her out for another one.

    3. I love to dress them up and sew for them. And use 1 poor sacrifice as faceup practice. Finally they are fun to move around and place. I am just attenoting to very careful with the sunlight/display.

It is incredible all the things you can do with them, I have been in the hobby since 2011

I enjoy photographing them, buying clothes for them, changing their clothes, having them by my side while I work or while I am reading a book, they give me a lot of peace , having them around gives me a lot of peace.

I love the friendships I made thanks to this hobby, so many talks, meetings, meals, even staying to sleep at the house of one of the members, they became important people for me, definitely this hobby has made me very happy

    6. I’m new in the hobby but I like to do their face ups and dress them up the most. And planning to get more into photography but sometimes just looking at my dolls is enough :)

    7. I really enjoy doll photography and spending time styling my dolls so they fit the character I envision for them. This means shopping for the right clothes, making items I can't find, and wig-styling. I also roleplay with the characters my doll portray, which gives me more and more fuel for new ideas. While I haven't had enough courage to go to a doll meet up per say, I do like to meet other doll collectors at anime conventions in my area. I recently moved to a house that has a park within walking distance, so I'm really eager to get out there and take some new photos once the weather gets nicer. A bonus for me is that my best friend is in the hobby as well, so we like to take our dolls out for photography as a team, which makes it even more fun. Finally, I recently bought face-up/body blushing supplies to try my hand at body blushing! I have saved and read over a few guides, so I'll be ready to go once the weather is optimal for sealing.

    8. I like making wigs for them I find it relaxing. I also like making up a tape form for patterns. When I’m brave enough (I doubt this will ever happen tho I can’t take peoples judgments or stares) I want to take one of my dolls to the store and ride them in the grocery seat cart. Lol I know it sounds stupid but I think it would be so fun to go to the store with them.

    9. It doesn't sound stupid at all! Grocery shopping is tedious; who doesn't want company?

    10. Do it while you're with a group of friends that will help.

    11. thank you @mapiliaa
@Teddy see I feel like if I had a someone else to do it with I wouldn’t be self conscious. I feel like I could actually do without even worrying about other people because I would be to preoccupied with friends. I hope that this year I’m able to finally go to meets and find friends within the hobby. I think I will make it a goal for 2022 to find doll friends and go grocery shopping with our doll lol :kitty1

    12. If you can't find dolly friends to do it work on getting some of your non-doll friends to keep you company while you do it. Once youv'e "broken the cures" by doing it once it won't be anywhere near as dificult to do stuff in public with your dolls again.

    13. Usually I draw my dolls or take photos of them! Coming up with stories or scenarios is also really fun too, I find they really inspire my creativity.

Though, I would love to take my dolls to meetups! There's not a lot of active collectors around my area atm.

    14. @ellie Like Teddy said, just get your friends used to it! Or in my case, my family haha. My mom often goes with me on my doll photography adventures and tried to find good spots to take photos. She'll often carry them too instead of letting me do it haha!

    15. I like to redress my dolls frequently since I like trying new looks on them. I also really enjoy making wigs and I feel like I'm constantly making my dolls new wigs to wear, but they're really fun and relaxing to make. And while I'm not great at it, I also like to sew clothes for my dolls when I have the time.

    16. I like to go “window shopping” for clothes and new friends with my doll sitting in my lap while we browse.. since i dont have any money right now ;^__^).
I also like to make wigs and do his faceup too! Unfortunately for him, hes always getting his face wiped.. and his head is always cold since i can never settle on a wig. xP
Soon, I want to try to learn how to sew, so he can have a few more clothes. i rlly want to craft a pikachu kigurumi. :] .. after he’s “all-together” (whenever that will be), I want to bring him with me for excursions!

    17. Photoshoots with decorative backgrounds! I like taking pictures of my dolls at my apartment, and I take joy from grabbing things I have lying around to use as backdrops and settings! Most commonly, I use old/pretty books from my collection, music album covers, and knick knacks I have lying around to create both dynamic or colorful backgrounds.

    18. New to the hobby as well, I love shopping for clothes for my dolls and dressing them up in styles I love but personally do not see myself being able to pull them off!

I love photography as well so it's great to have model who would obey your every command and be able to hold poses for so long while I tinker around with my camera

    19. I don't have my BJD yet but with my other dolls, I love sewing, taking pictures and developing their character and stories. I also recently learned to crochet and knit thanks to my dolls because there are great tutorials about it. Apart from that, I watch content from other doll collectors and I love posing them too :3nodding:

    20. I make clothes for them but i also like to pose them a lot and sit them in my lap when I do things. I actually rarely take pictures of my doll unless they're wearing something i've made
