1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What do you love about the hobby?

Apr 22, 2020

    1. I find this hobby very inspiring! There are so very many different doll makers and aesthetics out there, that I just love the variety. And the imagination and talent you see throughout the hobby is breathtaking.
And most of all, i love how many crafty possibility it has in every direction! From the painting, to the accessories making, over clothing sewing, to photography. It has so much to offer and therefore never gets boring for me :) I love to create.

    2. Ok, so, it's Christmas time and that means stores are busting out ALL THE TOYS. Why does this make me love the BJD hobby? Because I can buy all sorts of 'stocking stuffers' that are the perfect size for my dolls to play with! Erasers in the shape of food, doll sets that come with little laptops and backpacks, all the cute little things that I otherwise can't justify buying. Mini-Brand Toys means I can give my boy a robot dinosaur for Christmas, even if it is the size of his palm :D

    3. Photographing my BJDs for Instagram, taking them out when I go places, and curating little online spaces for them (DoA doll profiles, carrd, Pinterest moodboards, etc) are the ways I love to stay engaged and in love with the hobby! All these things help me feel like I'm interacting with my dolls and taking the time to give them separate attention and appreciation.
