Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company.   2. Dollshe Craft and all dolls created by Dollshe, including any dolls created under his new or future companies, including Club Coco BJD are now banned from Den of Angels. Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. What do you prefer: Personality first or Sculpt first?

    1. For me, I usually go with the sculpt first. It’s easier for me to bond with them if I make their personality after they show up on my doorstep. Sometimes, I just buy a sculpt because I love it, and then I get even more attached to them by developing their character. :)

    3. Depends! I chose Seth by sculpt and created his personality around it. But Tate I chose by personality and searching for a sculpt that matched it!

    4. I don’t shell ocs into dolls just because it would take a lot of dolls haha! I typically let dolls be their own loose characters. That frees me up to get the sculpts first and then work from there. Typically things like clothing, hairstyles, and eyes help me come up with the particulars. Maybe one day I’ll do it the other way around but no time soon.

    5. I honestly tend to do both.
      I really don't want to pick a sculpt I don't like though, so even when shelling a character and looking for specific things in the sculpt, if I don't wind up liking it I don't get it.

    6. I think for me sculpt comes first. Dolls have mostly been just for the look, like an art piece do display I guess. I kind of get a feel for their general mood in order to paint and customize them. I'm not one to really go to deep into a character or anything though. I kind of just primarily enjoy customizing and taking nice photos of them. I think it's cool that the hobby has many things to offer different people regardless, I know some really enjoy world building. I do like seeing peoples elaborate costumes, props, and stories even if that's not what I do personally.:3nodding:

    7. I look at both. I depends on what I’m looking for. If I’m just attracted to the sculpt, I made a personality to fit her. If I have a personality in mind, then I would prioritize that and find a sculpt that fits.

    9. I'm drawn by sculpts and (if I don't go ahead and buy the doll on a whim) then personality later. I got my Minifee Sircca because I fell in love with her sculpt and then she ended up fitting one of my OCs fairly well. On the other hand, I preordered Minifee Rens and Minifee Hwayu without really thinking about characters... Hoping something comes to mind then they arrive!
