1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What doll size do you consider most "fun" ?

Sep 29, 2013

    1. I have msds and yo-sds. I love to sew for my msds but when it comes to actually handling the dolls and posing them, the yo-sds tend to get the most attention. They just seem so much more sturdy and easy to transport to me. So I guess they are more "fun" in that respect.

    2. I feel like 1/4 scale dolls are the most fun because they're small enough for me to be comfortable handling, but big enough to fit in a lot of detail. It seems like they would be the best size for me to sew for. I can sew clothing for myself, but I can't sew for my 1/8 doll at all.

    3. My favourite sizes of dolls tend to be around 50-60 cm.. It's usually the range I tend to buy dolls in.. Anything smaller is usually too small for me and anything larger is to heavy and too much of a hassle to carry around.

    4. I like to redress and alter eyes and wigs on the msd size the most.

    5. Dolls under 30cm feels 'best' when I bring them outside and take photos, dollies bigger than that feels too big to carry with my camera.

    6. I think 1/8 dolls are the best to play with, especially with the wide variety of props in the correct scale available. Plus, it is so much easier to build rooms or houses for them.

    7. My collection falls to both ends of the scale. My favorites are either the large 70cm guys or the adorable little YoSD girls. That said, I wouldn't call the big guys "fun" in the same way as the little ones. With them, it's pretty much all serious. They're dignified. They have presence. They demand it. The girls? HAH! I stuff them in my purse and take them shopping with me. They're FUN!

    8. I like the smaller ones best (tinies, mini's, etc) and preferably in a not-so-human for. :lol:Love to make mini stuff for them (clothing, accesoiries, furniture, etc). Also I like to imagine they live in a part of our world....somewhere :)

Personally I love the pictures, outfits etc of the MSD and SD dolls, however in real life their size kinda creeps me out to be honest. Maybe because the big ones are just a few inches shorter than my kids ;) So who knows when the kids have grown a bit bigger.... :wiggle

    9. I feel like I'm going to be in the minority here... but I LOVE 1/3 scale. SDs are just so much more fun to me than MSDs or YOSDs. I think it's just because they're so much bulkier that there's more to admire.

    10. I enjoy working with my SDs the most, but if I'm looking for a doll to take to a meet and goof around with, I'll always choose an MSD. I'm less worried about them being handled or left in silly poses, they're easier to transport, and they seem to be fairly popular at meets I've been to.

    11. Naw, I don't think so, Missie L!

I love playing with my SDs and larger dolls. Don't get me wrong, I love my MSDs, but to me, they are more like...dolls. The SDs and larger seem more like people to me. If you read earlier in the thread, you'll see that's the general consensus between those of us that prefer larger dolls to play with.

Besides, finding clothes for SDs is really easy since so many people seem to love to sew for such large dolls! ;)

    12. I, personally, am in love with tinies! I own a PukiPuki and am absolutely in love with her. She is so small, but not so tiny that I can't make clothes or shoes for her. She is also the perfect size when experimenting with photography because I can tuck her away in a little box in my purse and carry her almost anywhere.

    13. Yo-SD to bigger tinies are my choice tough I only have 1 Yo-Sd and 0 tinies but I look forward too as soon as I save some money.
Mostly due to its portability, the easiness of finding items in scale...

    14. I have mainly big guys but my favorite size would be 65cm. I just seem to do most things with them.
