What doll size do you consider most "fun" ?

Sep 29, 2013

    1. I only own a DS Hound, and my younger sister has an adorable Puki Puki Sugar...big size gap there! I bought a DC Agatha yesterday, so it'll be interesting having another sized doll in the house! From experiences at meet ups and such, I prefer the big boys and girls (60 cm and up). Overall, I'm a very anxious and generally energetic person, so handling the bigger dolls is less intimidating for me. I'm not afraid I'll snap them in two seconds, or that I have to delicately handle them slowly. Sewing for my Hound is much nicer than sewing for my sister's doll, even if he uses way more material.

But I still adore my sister's Sugar, I would love some smaller babies in the future!

    2. Well I'm having a lot of fun with my Trinity as I can adapt children's clothes for her, and she's my most realistic doll. It's funny but my SD sized dolls are like tinies next to her, but I love their size too. I have one MSD sized doll, and I don't do anything with her really, and my two tinies are more like pets for the SDs.

    3. I've never handled an SD sized doll. (shocking, I know) The biggest I've handled is an MSD and I think her lack of poseability had something to do with my dislike of fooling with her. The weight and size weren't an issue but put her against my 4" Puki and I'd much rather handle the Puki. But I just recently got a tiny that's YOSD sized and I think that's the most fun for me. She's a little bigger than my Puki so she's not as ready to fall over from wind or me knocking into the table they're placed at but she's not so big I feel like I have to handle her with kid gloves or feel deterred from even touching her.

    4. I love the bigger sizes, but being in the middle of planning an international move I'm totally thinking more fondly on the smaller ones!

Easier to pack! Less space! I suppose that's not really about "fun", but trying to plan for shipping the big ones is not fun, so hey. ;)

    5. SD size is it for me. For a long while they were all I collected but I've added a few elf MSDs & some tinies, mostly around Yo sized as I found the really small ones were to hard for me to handle. To me, the SD size is just perfect, big enough to really display & make a splash. Also I find larger dolls easier to sew for & I can easily find accessories in their size. (I have a lot of stuff left over from my Cissy days that work perfectly with my SDs.) Plus somehow my SDs have evolved the most comprehensive universe & the best defined characters. That size is my favorite for fun as their world & characters keep developing while my other dolls simply seem to hang out looking pretty.

Strangely enough though I don't care for the even bigger dolls. They just seem too awkward to me to play with effectively & I have no place to put them.

    6. For me it's SD size. It used to be mini's and I didn't even want to own anything bigger. I guess I kinda grew tired of mini's though, they seem less stable in posing, there's less fun clothes available and the molds out there are generally less "grown-up".

    7. I can't be precise but dolls under 50 cm. Why? Because I already have 50 cm tall doll (though it's Obitsu) and I feel like she is wayyy too tall for me, also I seem to like childish and innocent looking dolls more that tall and mature.
I'm sooo glad I did not buy tall resin doll as my first doll because she/he would been unnecessary buy for me.
Still waiting for my first doll and she is LTF Bonnie. I like her size!
I hope I can bond with bigger dolls in the future, they can be pretty too. :daisy

    8. All I currently have is MSD's. I like their size because they're not too big and heavy but they aren't too small. I am definitely considering getting both a larger doll and a smaller doll though, but for now I'll stick with my MSD's

    9. I love my two boys who are around 55 cm. I know that's only a smidge shorter than the class "60cm" doll, but it really does make a big difference since I definitely prefer them over my 62cm guys. They're easier to hold and not as gangly, while still feel solid and more substantial compared to my minis. Female bodies are usually easier to find in this size, but I love that I was able to actually find two boy bodies that I love and didn't have to resort to any modifications.

    10. i would love for my first doll to be a much larger one! i want to carry it around like a small child,

    11. I enjoy tiny size that's why I stick to dolls within 30cm, easy to carry and storage.

    12. I personally love the 1/3 scales, because they are the standard size to a certain degree, and it makes me feel like I am carrying an antique doll. :)

    13. My favorite size is SD but as far as 'fun' goes, I'd actually have to say YoSD. My Yos are all pretty entertaining to play with! They have such strong personalities (not that the bigger dolls DON'T...) and their exaggerated features somehow convey that feeling better. Also, because all my Yos are children of one age or another, they act like children - smart, calm(sometimes), somewhat more mature children, but still children, and therefore a little less serious. I dunno. They're also a little easier to play with 'cause they're so much smaller and lighter and there seems to be a larger range of clothes from other types of dolls that fit them.

    14. I have Yo size up to 90cm but SD is my favorite. They just seem the perfect size for me.

    15. In terms of making/having a wider variety of clothes/accessories, I'd say SD, but I like the size of my pukifee because I can easily take her places with me and not get embarrassed. I have an MSD size coming in the mail, so let's see how fun sized she is!

    16. I have two SDs and a tiny. I love both of those sizes, with a slight preference on SDs. They have a great presence and fit nicely into my arms. I love how easy it is to take their heads off and on and to change their eyes. I love to cuddle with them and carry them around at conventions. I also love my tiny a lot to. She fits easily into my hand, and I can pop her into my purse and take her places. I think minis are okay. Two of my friends have minis, but I always feel like I'm about to break/crush them. Minis don't fit easily into my arms, and they just don't feel right for me. Everyone says that minis are a great size, and an SD is too big and a tiny too small. Minis are ones I have the hardest time with. It could be that it's just because their my friends dolls and not my own, but I really, really like my two SDs and my tiny.

    17. You know, at first I was all gung ho SD! Whooo hooo Bigger is better... but now... they are like picking up small children and same goes for dressing them! I find I am loving the MSD's, oddly not crazy about the YoSd but I love love love the little 15cm and under tinys, and that's because you can find a lot of neat little stuff for them. <3

    18. At first, I bought MSD size is very fun with her. Then i try to buy yo-sd she very little and cute but really hard to stay posting that I would like too.
At last i bought SD size with big bust I love to see more sexy in my photo shoot so now, I just currently play on DD only.

Sad that other is was keep in a box only play one doll at a time >.<

    19. Well I don't have any petite dolls. And when I (five years ago, gosh it's been time) started this hobby, there wasn't m/any of those as I remember. I think MSD is "my size", but when I have seen petite dolls I can't think of anything more perfect size to have most fun with. :'D
Msd is not huge, but sometimes it can be too big to carry around. I have one Tiny, it really is easy and all, you can just put it to pocket or to plastic box, but it's so tiny and I'm not very used to that.
Petite is not same as msd, but not teenytiny either.

I can't just wait to order my first petite! <3
And I find SD to be most complicated to have fun with. xD Those are so enourmous.

    20. I love minifees I have 5 and 2 MSD's but I also have a iplehouse SID woman. and a soom idealian on her way to live with me.
and a large Xetreme doll's Siren, the bigger ones are better to play with if you have terrible eyesight like me
