What doll size do you consider most "fun" ?

Sep 29, 2013

    1. Currently I only own YoSD and under sized dolls and right now I really love my YoSD sized girl.
I'm finding myself drawn to MSD sized dolls lately though so there's a chance my preference will change later on ;)

    2. My personal favourite size is MSD but the best "fun" size is Pukifee/tiny. I love my Pukifee so much. She can hide in things and you can make dioramas and what not :)

    3. Not that long a ago, I thought tiny size gave me the most fun and satisfaction. But now it changed. Recently my favorite size is definitely MSD.
Easy to bring outside and change the cloth. YEAH!:fangirl:

    4. I enjoy the little guys (30cm and under) because they are so portable. They are literally purse sized. Plus they are like my little fairy friends so there's no way I would ever find them to be scary. I just adore the littlies.

    5. So far I only have my one doll which is an SD but I don't want to take her places because she's so big.
I'm really excited for my incoming MSD sized doll because of the big difference in size.
I would love to take pictures outside and I see it being much easier if the doll is easier to carry around.

    6. I started with a small and now I love all sizes! :D

    7. 70cm+ and under 20cm are my favourites!

    8. I have stuck to MSD-sized and smaller for now, just because smaller has been more approachable for me. Mini is a great balance between the larger and smaller dolls, and I think the size has a real charm. Realistic like the larger dolls with a good level of detail, but more portable than some of the larger sizes.

I have also been reluctant to jump in to the larger dolls because I worry about where I would store or display some of the larger dolls, and just the logistics of handling/playing with/posing them. And the higher prices, of course! But the larger size gives them a potential for greater detail in the outfits and makeup and a larger range of clothing available (that I have seen), plus it seems like there are numerically more 50cm+ dolls out there to choose from with a greater variety.

So yes, I have been considering getting a doll in the 50-60cm range and seeing how it goes, but probably not for a while.

But as for "fun", I would say that right now I am really enjoying my Minis, because they are so fun to pose. But I don't really have that much experience with other sizes, so I might not have the most informed opinion on the subject.

    9. I like to look at my YOSD and tiny but I prefer to play around with my SDs (SD17/EID/ID72).
My smaller girls don't tend to do what I want and no amount of pressure will make them listen to me. However, the bigger guys, I can use some force for the poses I want. I'm small in size and I don't have much strength, but I'm used to lugging stuff around so their weight don't phase me that much. And I really prefer the realistic feel of the bigger sizes.

    10. Iplehouse EID size girl, hands down.
I love sewing for the SD girl and the YoSD girl, but I find that fitting the EID even with the huge chest was rather fun and interesting :) and not as hard as I thought it would be.

    11. I don't really have a favourite size - I love all my sizes for various reasons. My bigs are just amazing pieces of art, really impressive 'wow' figures that grab your attention straight away (In particular, my Epidos makes people do double takes because of his massive horse butt) and they're easier to make clothes for because there's a more forgiving margin of error, and it's easier to make pieces detailed without seeming to be too busy. I find faceups easier to do on my biggies too. However, they're heavy and unweildy so they very rarely leave my house. I have more large dolls than any other size doll.

Mid-size is a happy medium, but sometimes I just want a big doll or a little doll and the size is a little awkward for me. I only have two minis and they're both actually the same sculpt... (*sweats*) however, again, they're easier to make things for than tinies, and they're a lot lighter and more mobile than the bigs.

My tinies, I adore. They're nice and travel sized and so very cute but I'm not actually that much of a fan of overly cute dolls (even though I have 5 tinies *sweats*) I think they're awesome in terms of space, too. I have shelves that won't accomodate mid to large size dolls, but my tinies sit there just fine. But I think they have some cons as well - I don't really like cutesy sculpts overmuch and they're difficult to make things for.

I think there's not really a size I prefer over another size, but that for me, each size has certain pros and cons to consider when shopping for a new dolly.

    12. Most fun? Well i guess my favourite size is the most fun, ofcourse, and it seems to be SD, or probably even 70+. They come in handy for me.

    13. SD definitely! To me BJD means SD sized. My collection is all SD, at one point I bought and MSD girl I was in love with but I was disappointed in her size and ended up selling her. MSDs are definitely cool dolls, I love seeing other people's, but in my collection they seem a but less special. They're too similar to other dolls because of their size. I think the SDs are more unique and weird ;)

    14. I believe this changes from time to time. I currently own from tinies (1/12 scale) up to standard SD size (have not made the leap to model or zenith or supergem or larger). Initially I loved the SD size the best (which surprised me that I even bought any because I always said I wouldn't get anything bigger than a Tonner sized doll!). It is certainly much easier to change their clothes. I have found that MSD size is really not for me at all - but I still have a hard time trying to part with my dolls even though they don't get played with. My biggest joy right now are my tinies - the kind that fit into 1/12 scale dollhouses as it is allowing me to indulge in another hobby (miniature dollhouses) that I have always been facinated with but have always convinced myself I could never own, whether due to cost, no room etc.

    15. SD and bigger! I still enjoy the smaller sizes, but for me there's something so engaging about the bigger dolls :)

    16. More fun would be the littlies, yosd and smaller. But my favorite size is MSD... I'd like an SD too, at some point. (I have 2 msds and a yosd with a Realpuki on the way)

    17. The most fun size for me and my favorite is the MSD size. The size is just perfect for me.

    18. For me must be MSD and only with my Fayy (MD Mir). I don't know why. Maybe because of his style...I really like to sew fine detailed clothing for him to wear. But SD size is also enjoyable. Ren has so many clothing and photos. We do enjoy a lot! :)

    19. I don't really prefer a size.
When sewing I prefer SDs and MSDs, when going out I prefer MSDs or smaller and for most pictures tinies are fun.
It depends more on the doll itself than the size, really. ^^

    20. I prefer MSD the most. They're small but not to small. Are detailed but also not to much. Weirdly enough I like sewing for them more too! And they're so fun to carry around! They're not to small so you can wear them on your arm, and not to big to become to heavy. And next to an SD, they look so cute and fragile!
