1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

    1. me tooXD Hayden is gorgeous. and now, so is my William >W<

    2. Um...hm. Two of them.

I bought my Shiwoo because I fell in total love with the mold after seeing various owner pictures of him (and frankly I directly blame Brightfires and Xi-feng for it). I had to have one and made grabby hands at Luts until I got some tax refund money and then it was WOO SHIWOO TIME. My Elfdoll Red was the other; I saw a bunch of owner pictures, went OMFG HE'S PERFECT FOR THIS CHARACTER, and put him on layaway. Whee.

I guess you could sort-of say my Yder was a product of DoA; I bought his head second-hand for a practice head, then promptly fell in love with the sculpt.

    3. Felix MoMo, I had one tiny already and was debateing if I should get a Puki or Brownie,
MoMo won that round after I read about her on doa, puki won after that...as a matter of fact I have 5 Pukis and soon 4 brownies plus I have the same comfort baby.

I do have other brand.. but was influenced on my own searches. :)

    4. My Elfdoll Wu I ordered(from the Marketplace on here, actually) and who still has not arrived yet :(.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I looked through all the Elfdoll pictures on their website (I'm obsessed with Hazy and Mir, and have considered K) and always seemed to pass up Wu without a second glance. That horrible blonde wig they have on him in the promo pics just does not do it for me.

Then one day I was browsing through the Gallery and I must have seen someone's pics of their Wu (maybe Satoru's Hiroshi) and I loved him! so I had to go looking around to see other Wu's.

Well, within a week, I was kind of obsessed with him. I even bought a wig for him before I even had plans to buy one! I had JUST broken up with my boyfriend and when I saw there was a Wu for sale on the MP I had to bring him home to be the perfect guy for me. He was a total impulse buy, but the more I think about him (and I have a LOT of time to think about him, since he's coming to me by standard shipping) the more I am glad I happened to click on the gallery of someone's Wu.

      Wu Power!!

    5. My Elfdoll LE Aurora (Soah sculpt). I bought her on the marketplace. I also ordered Chiron from DDE after I saw photos of him.

    6. Thats easy for me to answer...it has to be Elfdoll devil hana...i saw the angel hana version (with grumpy face) in a meet up thread...and fell in love with her. Once id gone to the Elfdoll site however i realised that the Devil version was the one for me....course it was sold out. I managed to source her from DoA's marketplace tho...and Katie came home to me.

    7. All but Hikaru--he was a direct result of a recommendation to Luts by a friend. I never knew there were so many companies and different sculpts before I even joined DoA. :o

    8. My first BJD ever Unidoll Ark! :D
I fell in love with him after seeing Sara's ones *_*!
Before it I planned to stay by MSD size, but after Ark I only have SDs now !

    9. What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

When I first saw the professional gray D.O.D Kalix pictures up at dream of doll. I did not like him at all. I thought his color and sculpt was not to my liking. But when I saw the actual user pictures at DOA, the color of his skin and sculpt looked different, it looked very nice! I immediately purchased him at the DoA marketplace.

    10. Definitely my Dollmore Banji and Littlefee Ante... The pictures from owners were so lovely that I wanted them very badly...

    11. Deffinately both of my MNFs. I fell in love with Miyu after seeing owner pictures of her. For my soon to be arrival (only a little over a month!) Carl, I decided I needed him after seeing all the posing abilities and his very pretty face!

    12. My Unoas.

I definitely fell in love with them when I saw aya22's girls. *_*

    13. Actually, I find dolls here I've never seen but really I use DoA to see what the dolls really look like. Companies use marketing techniques and we all know the doll we see on their site is a knock-out compared to what we pay for and receive, which can sometimes be VERY disappointing. For instance, I fell in love with a Snow Gabriel (Angell Studio), then I saw one with the default faceup on ebay and it was crushingly unattractive. The eyebrows were done up too high and it totally took away from her serene beauty.

So, short story long. I use DoA to find dolls I want with default faces, commissioned faces, etc. And I love searching out blank heads!

      DoA is an excellent resource.

    14. I have not purchased her yet, but I am getting a BBB Ariel as a result of DoA. when I was doing my initial research before coming to DoA, I had come across BBB doll mall, but their display pics are not that flattering and I just did not like them at all! But after seeing several BBBs on the forum, I started to warm up to them. And as a result of meeting people on DoA, I saw a Sprite in person and even did a face-up on her later. I started to fall in love with her. Then I saw Ariel on JunkeySpot and KNEW that was the next doll I was going to buy.

    15. I bought Riley, my Lishe, as a direct result of DoA. I liked her on the luts site, but I never thought that I'd have the money for her until she came up for sale in the MP. It was just the right time and she was a complete impluse buy, but I'm SO glad that I did.

    16. My Domuya Potpourri... I never had any plans to get one... but then I saw this little zombie in the Marketplace and I just HAD to have her DX and even though I don't have one (yet) I first fell in love with Dollshe Bermann from seeing owner pics on DOA. someday....

    17. I just had to have a tan Bobobie after seeing them. Also I fell in love with Sprites. So it was obvious I needed a tan Bobobie Sprite. The owner pictures really help since Bobobie stock photo's are not the greatest. I love to go through the data bases and discovering dolls I have missed.

    18. :):DI have a FairyLand minifee (shiwoo who is going to be stewie l think) on layaway now that l'v seen how they can pose.

    19. Hmm, I haven't actually bought it -yet- but the purchase will definitely be made some time this summer--an A-line body MNF Miyu :fangirl: The pictures I have seen of her on DoA as well as the poses the A-line body can achieve (again, seen from owner pictures on DoA) just convinced me that this has to be one of those BJDs I can't pass up.

    20. My wife tried getting me an Euclase but that did not pan out. I think she almost has another one but she is not telling me much as he was to be an anniversary gift for me. She has had other deals that worked out well on here though.
