1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

    1. The only doll I have that I didn't see on DOA first is my Mstya-my Planet Doll Dandy. But, I found out about Planet Doll through DOA.

    2. Because of this forum, I can identify sooo many molds and if not their name, their company just my looking at them. xD

Here is where I learned of sales and events LUTS and other company's have + my mom only letting me buy things on sale/event = Nicolai a Kid Delf Bory. :D

I just soak up the info on this hobby like a sponge, anywhere from clothing, shipping info, to the chemical make up of resin and what's safe to use on it. xD

    3. my puki, and my soon-to-be-ordered (hopefully) mnf. I don't think I would've found Fairyland in the first place without being on DoA, and I wouldn't know anything about their amazing posability.

this, also. I can identify so many sculpts that would have baffled me before. granted, its only the ones I like, but still. I can recognize companies at the least, if not specific sculpts.

    4. All but one of my dolls are from the market place, and the one I ordered directly is from Charles Creature Cabinet, which I discovered from threads here ^_^

    5. With the exception of my first doll, an AoD NiNi, and my Felixdoll Frances, I bought all my dolls only after research through the forums.

    6. Ah what an excellent question. I fell in love with DIM Happy Ace - and he is on his way as we speak *squeals*. I saw him as I was doing wig idea searches for my DZ Megi.

    7. I am in total agreement with you on that point. DoA is fabulous for this!

    8. Same problem here. I bought my first, a ResinSoul tiny. Loved him! Came back to DoA after being mia for about a year and fell into the Tiny Section... Those pukifee & puki spammers got me hooked and within 6 months I went from 1 -3 resin kids. I'm in the process of researching a Lati too now.

    9. My Luna_Tamer. I did not plan on getting her and wouldn't have even heard of Iplehouse if I hadn't seen that one fateful post somewhere on DoA about it.

Now I'm hooked on Iplehouse >_<.

    10. Volks Masha

    11. my first doll limhwa half elf which i ordered about 2 weeks ago.

searching for doll companies, i came across DoA and this forum has been an invaluable source of BJD information.

before DoA, i hadn't thought of stuff like high-heeled feet, french resin vs urethane resin, sizes of clothes and so much more.

so, thanks a mil, DoA and members!

    12. Though I don't have one (yet XD ) I learned about soom MD's through DOA. They are all so gorgeous, I know one day I'll end up getting one for sure!

    13. My entire little band of neighborhood misfits is a direct result of DoA. I love haunting the galleries, box openings and marketplace threads for inspiration. If I become interested in a certain doll, then it's onto the individual discussion groups to gleen yet more information. 4 of my dolls were purchased right here in the marketplace, one was purchased through Denver Doll Emporium (which I found out about here on the forum) and my final doll will be purchased directly through the company after doing thorough company research here.

    14. Technically... none.
Sanyu I found first, from a link my mother had sent me. But I guess I did decide to buy her only after finding about a million ShuShu owners pics to be sure. So kind of.
And Gael... well, there weren't many owners pictures of Suntan Ashas on here, but I guess that this forum is the only reason I found the Dollmore company in the first place.

So it depends on how you look at it, I suppose.

    15. Not a doll yet but just my floating head, my Zaoll Luv. First, because I bought it in the marketplace here, and then because of all those amazing owners' photos. I actually liked Zaoll Muse the better at first, but after seeing said photos, I was convinced of buying that Luv head. I just love the mold.

    16. None of them, I wouldnt have gotten past the price nor found my favorite companies! Oh DOA, you make us all so happy, and yet so poor

    17. i first saw BJD on deviantart so YES i would still have dolls now even if i never found about DoA.
i dont really remember if i first saw a doll here and though ''WOW i have to buy''. it could've been anywhere else on internet :sweat

    18. I hadn't seen a supia doll before I became a member here, and now a tan supia rosy is on her way xD
I also reallyreally want a glorydoll hoshino miyuki head! :aheartbea

    19. All of 'em so far.

1.) I stumbled across a link to Dream of Doll's Petsha here on DoA by accident. I clicked and was instantly smitten with her.

2.) The first Dolkot Day I ever saw was AmyAngel's gorgeous Crow. As a result I decided to take a peek at Dolkot's website and grew attached to both the Day and Yun sculpts. After a bit of indecision, I decided on Day since he was the one to tug on my heart strings.

3.) I never thought I'd get a tiny as small as a Brownie, but the minute I saw aquaspiral's Zeppelin GoGo I fell hard. That face! Those ears! I was hooked.
