1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

    1. Most of my dolls ?

Actually its more in the box opening section or just by roaming around I find a picture of a doll I find really pretty and look for it =3

Most of the time I dont end up wanting that doll mold but I still keep the company memorized for research later =D

DoA is the best resource to find new dolls in my opinion and while I cannot really say if its directly the reason I bought some, it is one of the reasons I found it in the first place XD

But It still doesnt stop me from finding new ones ;3

    2. Well, none exactly yet. I always knew I wanted a Ryu from pictures on dA. And I think I found out about Supia Rosy there as well. But, I definatly confirmed my choices through DoA.

And now, I've seen lots of tinys here and I'm pretty darn sure I'm going to get one (hopefully soon too). Pukifee Ante here I come! lol, really though, DoA is a defaint place I look for info/ versions of a mold. I don't know if I'd be able to make such good decisions without it.

    3. My BBB Weylin was a direct result of browsing the marketplace, clicking on an opportune thread and it was love. Besides that, all of them have been from seeing them on other sites or in other places.

    4. If I had not seen owner pictures of the DZ Feilian mold, I would never have fallen in love with her and bought her! I actually bought her from a DOA member on here too! So it worked out nicely in the end!

I also fell in love with the Luts Blanchet as a result of a meet-up; a DOA member brought her Luts Blanchet and her face was so lovely I knew one day I would own her (and one day I shall!)

    5. Both of my dolls, really. :sweat I never would have gotten my Volks MSD F-18 because I couldn't go order one myself and didn't know anyone who could do it for me until joining DoA.

And my Volks MSD Toppi, who I bought off a member here, if they hadn't offered me such a lovely price I never would have been able to afford her, plus there were none on Y!JP (I'd just bid on one and lost, and juuust about given up any hope of ever getting her when I got a PM from a sweet DoA member). :)

So it's been by a stroke of luck and the kindness of other DoA members that I own either of my dolls. :fangirl: Talk about a sense of community.

    6. I read a really cute photo-story with a puki pongpong after that I searched the forums for photos of that smiley little doll. Now I have two of them as I bought a body for the sleeping faceplate.:D

    7. I'd say I've been influenced in most of my dolls by seeing owner-pics here on DoA and seeing the potential of various sculpts... and for most of my Volks limiteds, of course, I only found out that they were being released from DoA's News section so I'd never have tried for them in the first place if I hadn't known!

I've also bought many of my guys directly from the DoA marketplace, so if it weren't for DoA I wouldn't have my...
      1. tan El
      2. Emma
      3. Shiro Tachibana
      4. Sooah
      5. Ami Ayase
      6. boy Liz
      7. Kanon
      8. Black Cat Lucas
...and given that I ordered my F-16 through Ria_Ria's FCS service here in the marketplace too, he's another one I have as a direct result of DoA! :o

    8. CP 05 Juri, i had seen her and wasnt really too impressed, then i saw one at a meet, and then looked at owner pics, and fell in love

    9. My two YoSDs, Nono and Hinaichigo. Now I loved Hinaichigo's company pics, but her owner pics? I just had to buy and seeing one for so little in the marketplace about six months later I was a goner for sure. With Nono, I wouldn't have even known about the event until way after it happened to know Volks was releasing so many Yos at a single event. Just marketplace pictures was enough to sell me as I had my Nono within a month or so of the release.

    10. Supia Rosy. The company picture isn't that great, and you can't see the price without getting an account, but I've gotten lots of helpful advice from people here, along with tantalizingly gorgeous pictures.

    11. Every single doll I've bought so far is a direct result of DoA. I stalk the news here, I stalk the marketplace. Half of my full dolls were bought second-hand in part or in full here, not to mention 3 other rolling heads. The others were bought direct from company due to seeing News posts, or seeing other owners' beautiful customisations that bring out the potential of sculpts I might otherwise have never looked at. O_o I should really, really stay away from this place. XD

    12. My Sparrow, AoD AiAi, was certainly a direct result. I got him off the marketplace and when i went to look up his sculpt, i remembered i had seen it before but hated his default face-up so it turned me off, but the face-up he had gotten while with his previous owner was much better and made me buy him. So i definitely wouldn't have gotten him otherwise! XD

    13. I used to really like "dollish" dolls, the ones with kind of vacant expressions and pretty faces, until I came to DoA and realized how much more fun to look at the dolls with odd faces and bodies were to look at. After looking around the galleries I took all the dolls I had previously wanted off of my wishlist XD so really, every doll I buy can be attributed to DoA helping me figure out what exactly my tastes are.

    14. Well, I get most of my doll news from here so yes, it's part of the reason I got some of my dolls but most often, I chance upon owner photos of dolls that catch my eye offsite and come here to find more owner photos or information about a particular mold or company before making my final decision.

    15. Pretty much my whole collection is thanks to DoA... if I hadn't found DoA, I'd still think that all these dolls looked like the weird dead-fish-eyed things I first saw. I do have some sculpts that I don't see often on DoA or anywhere else, but I found the companies via DoA. When I joined the hobby, DoA was my one and only source for all the different companies and sculpts.

    16. Thanks to this forum I got my CP Chiwoo <3 I wasn't a fan of him from the company pictures and even from the members' pictures but one day, while I was browsing the SD sales thread, I came upon this beautiful boy and I just had to have it. It was the best decision I've taken on a whim, 6 years later and I still have my precious boy plus he's the only SD sized boy who managed to stay (I like MSDs better). This forum also gave me my princess Jubilee (Puki Sugar) :)

    17. Oh most definitely DOA is very very evil..lol. There are a number of dolls that I have that when I looked at the company site I was like eh its alright and kept looking. But once I got on DOA and saw actually owner photos and how versatile and different one mold could look I instantly became a BJD addict, quite a few dolls have come from the MP her on DOA so most definitely a solid YES if I had not become a member on DOA I would say I would only have 1/2 the dolls if not less then what I do. To long of a list to name them all but some of my favorites that I hadn't stubbled across before DOA were Elfdoll Catsy and Fairyland Puki Puki Pukisha's, oh and the one I'm still wanting a Luna Tamer Chimera. :)

    18. Lots of molds, lots of sculpts that I found on DOA that looked fantastic. Several of my second hand dolls were dolls I never really knew were there or could look so amazing until I saw them on DOA. Like my Vampire Yder head. I love him and he's fantastic but i probably wouldn't have been so head over heels if I hadn't seen him the first time just perfect. He was a perfect match for a character. So I think that happens for me a lot.

    19. Oh gees, probably a third of my collection came from the DoA Marketplace! Mostly poor little orphan dolls I didn't know I wanted... :sweat

    20. So far I've purchased three dolls off the marketplace here that I would probably still be waiting/procrastinating on getting if I'd had to order them new. Out of those my Leeke Chouette is the one that really was a direct result of finding him for sale on the forum. Although I'd noticed the sculpt in some of Dollheart's sales ads on eBay and fell in love, he surely would've just ended up on my wishlist if I hadn't chanced to find an affordable one on the mp looking for a home.
