1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

    1. I probably would not have any Mecha Angels without DoA, so I'm very thankful, but the one doll in particular that caused me to obsess and lose sleep was the Latidoll Chaim. I found him on this forum and totally flipped out when I found out he was limited to 70 worldwide and that I had missed out by near 6 months or so. I got all stalkerish on the marketplace until I found one full set.

    2. I wouldn't have Zeelzaroth because I bought him from the Marketplace right here, and I wouldn't have my Souldoll Hye because I bought her on layaway from the Marketplace too!

I probably wouldn't have ordered my Puki without DoA either, because I wouldn't have known about them!

    3. My daughter and I share our dolls. Our first doll came from ebay. After we found DOA however, we found out a lot more about what was available and I also bought several from the Marketplace. I am currently finishing up a face-up on a DZ Shoyo head to trade for a BBB Tony for my daughter that I found in the Marketplace.

    4. I have a couple of dolls I felt in love after joining doa and seeing them, which I want to buy '_'

Sometimes you don't really like a doll on the shop pictures, and after surfing threw doa you may love this sculpt. Or you've never known this sculpt, someone has it and you take a closer look...doa is definitly making people poor XD

    5. A unoa. :3 I like the pictures of the dolls of them here but what really won me over was seeing one at a doll meetup recently. Really pretty. :3

    6. Steph G made me fall absolutely in love with Narae. I have my own Narae now after many years of desparately wanting her and she's so worth every penny. I'm so glad to have found out about Narae from this board.

Var my RML m-10/DZ boy hybrid was from here. Originally it wasn't the sculpt I was attracted to. I wanted a head for practicing mods and found a cheap one cos the person wanted a quick sale but fell totally in love with him and a character formed around him after his mods. I then purchased a DZ body, cheap again cos the person wanted a quick sale. I'd never have thought about a DZ body before but he's one of my best posers and I have a wide selection of different bodies in my crew now!

DT Estella too. I saw people discussing her before she was first released and remember the first person to get her and their owner pics were stunning. I've wanted her ever since and finally have her head after years of wanting :)

I now want a CP Miyu, because I didn't really like her at first but after seeing owner pics throughout the gallery I've fallen head over heels for her.

The rest of my crew were not really influenced by this or any other forum, but some were influenced by the person who got me into BJDs and some were love at first sight, off the websites. But THANK YOU BOARD :D

    7. I would not have had my DZ Mo and the body for my 4th doll. They both come from DoA's marketplace :)
And DoA has also proven to be a great resource for liking even more dolls then my bankaccount can cough up.

    8. Besides the obvious fact that most of my dolls are second-hand (all but one that is on the way @_@) and I wouldn't have been able to get them if not for the marketplace, there are a few that I wouldn't have got if not for the forum. I wasn't really sold on Shushu from the store photos alone, but I was swooned by one I saw on the marketplace that had a different eye shape so I got her :3 I also would not have hybridified my CP Breakaway onto an SD13 if I hadn't had a venue in which to get a seperate body.

My incoming doll, a Puki Flora, I would have likely never got if there were no other collectors interested in them; they are a very small doll and very hard to shop for because of that, so having people around who are able to share their experiences and disoveries when it comes to shopping for them.

And then there's all the dolls I want because people do amazing things with them.

    9. Well, I always want to see owner pics of sculpts before buying, because not too many sites put up really good pictures of sculpts. So, all of them... except scooter.

    10. My Volks SuperDollfie Cute Sweet Dreams Kaede and soon-to-be-home Kaede were both a direct result of my time here on DoA. I was never much one for Volks molds, except for maybe a couple that were nice but not really my thing. But once I saw the SDC line and Kaede, I fell head over heels in love. She became my dream doll and I saved and sought for her. Finally, I found her. Rather, she found me through DoA. I'm almost done paying for her, and in the wait time, I found a SWD Kaede and traded for her with another doll I adopted from DoA. It's all because of DoA that they came into my heart and into my home. Yay!

    11. The two I'm waiting for now were bought as a result of what I've seen here. I wouldn't have known about DF's Popo fox without DoA, and I wouldn't have fallen in love with Megi without the owner pictures. It's nice having a place where I can see these things 'early'.

    12. I have a downpayment on another DoAer's sculpt, and I've purchased three company dolls through DoA. I would never have been able to get the Doona pair, Soah AND Ryung if not for a tremendous deal I found on here. I also got my adorable NS BBB Tiah through here. The biggest one is my Soom Beryl. I didn't know Soom really at all, and I saw a discussion thread about Beryl and HAD TO HAVE HER! She's home finally, and I love having her around.

    13. RML R-01 and puki sugar (now sold).
I think those are the only two LoL
Oooh, although, even tho I fell in love with ED's Wu (from the site), I bought mine from a member here on doa ^_^
But I will have to say that I'm debating buying a VOLKS because of you guys. Most of them looked so dead to me, but owner pictures bring out life in 'em.

    14. I don't have him yet, but I plan on getting a Soom male Dia as a direct result of being a member of DOA. If it were not for this forum, I wouldn't have even known that a company like Soom existed!! They have to be like my favorite company now just because they make such remarkable dolls!! And it's because of this forum that I'm able to find out about companies that I otherwise would not have known about. And I think that I even got my first one only because I was able to find so much information about BJD on here. If I hadn't been a member here, I probably would still know next to nothing about BJD. So it's basically because of this forum that I have BJD at all.

    15. I definitely would have never found any of the smaller doll companies by myself if it weren't for DOA. I believe I would have stayed and continued to be a Volks girl if I didn't spend time here, but I'm grateful that I did, because my wishlist has expanded so much to other doll companies and doll molds that I would never have thought twice about by just seeing their default stock image. But seeing so many owners here with these dolls, their unlimited creativity, how each of them can look so unique and individual, it's just amazing. It's been years but I'm still surprised about it.

    16. I wouldn't have either of my girls, if not or DOA! Both of them are second-hand from other members ^_^

    17. My boy, a Lati M. I fell completely in love with him after seeing valkyrie's boy.
Actually, most of the other dolls I want I fell in love with after seeing the company pics (except for El and MNF Shiwoo). Strange how things work, that my absolute favorite was seen here XD

    18. i didnt know DOA existed when i got my first (DM kara klum), so he doesnt count. but the second (B&G Ymir) and third (DZ shoyo) i never would have bought without checking out owner pics on DOA, cause their site pics didnt do them justice at all. my fourth (B&G Sapphira) i saw on Deviant Art for the first time, but with so many on DOA i kept falling more in love until i caved...and my fifth i bought in the marketplace second hand XD so that one for sure!!

    19. Well, I found DOA after I fell in love with Chiwoo, but I have my two dolls thanks to the marketplace. I'm really thankful to this forum, it helped me to get my resin babies...
Thank you so much DOA!! :D

    20. If I had never signed up with this site, I would never have seen the DZ Yuu doll that I have just fallen in love with! Well, I also have a DZ Wing on the way home too, but he was more of my Mother's impulse buy for me, not one that I Really just had to own. I think the Yuu dolls that really made me want one are both owned by members of this site, I can't remember the member's names but the dolls are named Baqir and Kieran (Kieren?). I just adore the sculpt :3
