1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

1. Well actually i found most dolls on my own. There was only a sold out leeke i wanted that i found for sale on here. A dced luts i was looking for and found for sale on here and a luts limited mold i found for sale on here XD. So doa really didnt help with any of my doll finding or decisions but there marketplace is wonderful and helped me acquire my said dolls. ^^

2. My wishlist was pretty small before I started coming to DOA and it has changed a lot ever since :sweat It was definitely DOA owner photos that made me want all the dolls I want now.

3. I probably wouldn't have any dolls if not for DoA. When I origionally came across BJDs, it was Aimee's Volks page, which linked to this forum. I was put off by Volks' prices, but upon browsing this forum realized that there were many, many more options. My three dolls, and my boyfriend's two dolls, were all "discovered" here on DoA. All the dolls on my wishlist, as well as all the doll links in my Favorites folder, are a result of what I've come across here on DoA. I don't think the hobby would be as successful as it is without this site.

4. Cherry Dream Torrie and mythdoll Leroi both bought from the marketplace here.

5. When I first discovered bjd's (via Haute Doll ad on Angelic Dreamz website) I thought I was only attracted to the bigger more senior dolls but I would say that this forum has directly influenced my next choices - I've fallen big time for the little cuties (MSD) and specifically because of what I have seen on the database/gallery subforums, would like to add a Narae (Butterfly), and possibly a Supia Yan and Rosy.....:sweat Without the forum I don't imagine I would have discovered them by chance.

6. Not that I've bought them yet, but I do plan to eventually buy a dreamingdoll Hue eventually, as well as a migidoll Miho. <3 Miho so much, and I wouldn't have known about either sculpts if I hadn't joined this place.

7. I haven't yet, but hearing all the debate of DoD made me go look at their page- and I really love one of their dolls, and am scheming to make her my second big girl.

8. Mmh, my Lahoo? I had seen it before on DoD, but I admit I didn't like it very much, or at all... until I saw owner pictures @-@. Especially a long haired blond Lahoo whose owner I forget, that Lahoo has long been sold (I was unable to get it) but made me want to get my own :aheartbea.

9. I fell in love with Narae 43cm dolls because of a really nice picture of one of aya22's dolls. I couldn't stop thinking about her. ^^; So I had to buy my own second-hand even though I was JUST finished saving up for my Shushu + lots of extra hands. =_= My Narae is on her way now, but I'm a bit sad for my Shushu.. It's gonna be a loooong wait for my next doll..

10. I wouldn't have found Angell Studio if not for DoA, So I'd have to credit DoA for Novella!
Carolyn.S's avatar led to my purchase of Sophie...
And this forum also helped finalize my decision on who my first boy's going to be... So pretty much all of them!

11. I certainly wouldn't have Flora without the DoA Marketplace--I hadn't even bothered to try for the original release of the Zuzu Delfs, knowing they'd be sold out in minutes, but owner pics softened me up for her sale thread when it came along. Owner pics also helped convince me that MNF Shiwoo was right for my youkai girls when I was torn between Elf Shiwoo, Lu-Wen and Elf Chiwoo. And, of course, the presence of so many people on this humungous forum reassured me that I wasn't entirely insane for wanting to spend over $600 on my first doll and then wanting more after I got him!

12. I wouldn't have known Kaye Wiggs fabulous dolls existed if it weren't for being on DoA

I bought Willowbark, my adorable little Sage from Kaye earlier this year
[IMG]

She's currently away being painted and I have to be patient and wait to get her back.

13. All of them except my Luke and my Ying. I bought my Luke before I joined and the Ying I bought from another forum cause I loved his look eventhough I'm not too fond of other Yings xD.

14. I wouldn't say a direct result but it certainly did help me choose between two I was stuck between. I noticed on here one was more popular than the other and also some people didn't like a feature on one for them. I went with the underdog (coz I'm always a sucker for them) I choose the less popluar one with the 'feature'. :)
It's always helpful here though coz you can ask questions and request pictures and info. It's a great forum. The only one I use really.

15. The Migidoll Ryu for sure. I would have never found that mold on my own. The more I looked at different owner pictures the more I fell in love and finally snapped and bought a head. (I now have a 2nd one on layaway with a body XD) The Minifee Shushu as well. I didn't like her pictures on Fairyland but the more owner pictures I saw the more I fell in love with the mold.

16. All of them, really. And quite frankly, I think any future dolls I get as well would probably be a result of this site. I just love to browse through all the databases and pick out who I want on my wishlist. ;) Not to mention that every doll I've ever had came second-hand through DoA, including my two current resins.

17. Most of the dolls I fall in love with were owner pictures on here xD And I'm thankful for them! It's wonderful being able to see pictures of the dolls besides for the ones on the website. Without DOA, I would have never even considered Yder. To me, the Luts photos do nothing for him. But I've seen so many wonderful owner pictures I know I'll have to get him one day :aheartbea

And without DOA, I wouldn't even know Crobidoll existed. This forum has widened my range of dolls companies so much. The only company I knew of before I came onto this form was Volks xD;

18. Pretty much every BJD I have had cross my door way has been because of DOA. I saw a few outside DOA but they only opened eyes to BJD DOA has opened the whole idea of which ones I want as well as what I do with them after they arrive. If I hadn't been told of DOA I would have very limited knowledge of the Dollstown esp.

19. I have to say I would never have known about tinybear's dolls if it wasn't for DoA. I love their style.

I also wouldn't have seen so many dolls I like without DoA. Just looking at owner pictures makes a HUGE difference.

20. Definately my hound and tan soori,

I fell in love after seeing owner pictures of the hound
I died the moment I saw Yaoilover's Zevlyn♥ I still want a V1 tan Soo-ri because of him
