Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases.     1. I haven't purchased anything just yet but after browsing through an "uncommon or underrated dolls" thread I've been smitten by Dollkot Hara.

      ...That and I'd kill for a U-noa Lusis after seeing some amazing custom face-ups done on them here. T____T

    2. For me, it was almost four years ago.

      I'd just discovered BJDs, and was exploring DoA in a sort of haphazard way, when I clicked on a link in the "News" section. On the other side of it was a sweet Asian face with a grey primer faceup and indigo eyes. Something about that face, something about those eyes, reached out and took root in my soul. As I've said before, she stole a piece of my heart, and the only way I could get it back was for to bring it from Korea in person.

      <-- That's Nozomi-Cho, over there. She arrived early the following August, and we've been together ever since. She was my first BJD, and still my heart's favorite, though to this day, she's my only non-VOLKS BJD!

    3. I discovered the Torrie mold (Leyla, my first) on DOA. Only SD-sized dolls were grabbing me when I was just browsing sites (I don't really want a big doll XD'''') so eventually I just went browsing the vaguest BJD-opedia posts I could find. I found one in the same "uncommon or underrated dolls" thread EbonyFeather mentioned, found out the mold could be ordered as a girl (the one I saw was a boy) and, well, that was it. XD

      My other two weren't influenced by DOA, though. =# In fact, I'd missed Agga's news post and ended up finding the mold on my own. XD'''

    6. DoA was the medium through which I learned about both my limited dolls. Well, Mano isn't limited in the techincal sense but he's done in short batches...

      Anyways, it was through DoA News section I learned about Limhwa's Limho Mano and Dream of Doll's Elf Ducan <3 Both boys I still love muchly!

    7. DOA has been one of my biggest influences with this hobby, so it's easy to admit that two of my three dolls are with me directly because of it. My Camine I fell in love with on my own accord, lol. But I spotted Yder here on doa, and realized Lut's photos did him no justice, so now own my own <3 And Haylie I actually bought from the marketplace here, and I love him to pieces! So I guess I really owe a lot to DoA ^___^

    9. HAH!

      I had admired the dolls for a number of years but had not ever felt the need to actually own one. The one I'd seen in real life that stole actually made me sit up and take notice was a catboy doll made up to look like a character from the manga, Loveless. Beyond that though I was strictly on the outside admiring but not desiring.

      THEN....I came across DZ's limited run Shoyo 3 cat girl online and being a neko fan couldn't stay away from the DDE shop, as though it was my default destination every time I logged onto my pc and went online.

      I'd find myself searching out reviews of DZ dolls....just because. After all ...I wasn't going to actually BUY one. I stumbled into DoA during one such search ~ learned she had ONLY animal ears...no human ones (the double-eared thing drives me nuts) ... and found myself immediately scrambling around the internets, looking for images of her head without a wig....found them...(whoa...only cat ears)....and shot over to DDE and ordered her so fast I think my CC got whiplash.:sweat

      Once you pull the trigger....the next one(s) is a lot easier :|....or so it seems. Thank-you DoA for helping me drain my mad-money account....no more Japan trips for me for a while.....:eusa_pray

      Bobobie hasn't got good promo photos. They make Weylin look homely. But once I saw how gorgeous he was in the owner photos, I had to have him. I'm very happy I did, he is a lovely scuplt.

    11. I have bought (and anxiously awaiting) a DS Saint purely because of DOA. If it hadn't have been for DOA, I wouldn't have been to meets and wouldn't have met MadamMauMau's gorgeous Demien and lusted after the Saint mold heheh!

      I love DOA for the owners pics that can really help me in my decision in my doll purchases. Often the owners pics are so much better than the official pictures and show the potential for many dolls that I hadn't dreamed possible. It's great (and also hazardous to my wallets health lol)

    12. Most promo pics on doll company website show only one faceup for a particular doll, and for me, that isn't enough to get a good sense of the possibilities of a mold.

      I don't down a doll yet, but every single one on my wishlist is one that I've seen tons of owner pictures of, just to reaffirm things. Looking at the Supia Rosy on the Supia website gave me the impression of a very sweet looking doll, but after seeing different faceups, I saw that she could be made to looking much more pensive and brooding. That cemented my decision.

      Same with SDF Cian and Abadon! I never really like the promo pics but when i saw some owner's pics i instantly feel in love with the molds and decided to get them x.x (Well going to order my Cian soon and probably going to order Abadon closer to Xmas)

    15. alot of dolls here on doa make me want to get the same mold =3

      Earlier this year, i had almost finished saving to get my first doll, . The DOD A&D ver.no2. Until i was finally allowed into the market place here on DOA. Thats where i saw Frozenwings migidoll Miho.
      i fell in love with Hiritais Hayden, and i had always planned on getting a migidoll. But when i saw miho, it felt like something clicked =] so i bought him!!!! =O

    16. For Me I was sold by the CP/Luts Lu Wen. I wanted him, but I wasn't sure and I wanted a El really bad, then I say a few galleries of the Lu Wen and well I got him instead. I'm so freaking happy with my decision.

      Then Gus because his pictures made him look totally adorable. (probably not soon, but he'll be on my list!)

    20. Out of my existing nine dolls, I have bought two because of information and owner pictures on the DoA - my ED Soah and my Supia Rosy, to be precice.
      The next doll I am planning is also due to the DoA.

      But compared to the direct and indirect influnece of Y!J, which accounts for five of my dolls, the DoA has been minor so far...
