1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What dolls have you bought as a direct result of DoA??

Aug 31, 2008

    1. My next planned purchase/s is/are a direct result of attending a local meet arranged through DoA. I had seen company photos and they did nothing for me, but seeing him in person, well it can only be described as love at first sight. So now I´m saving for a RS Long (and probably Feng as well)

    2. Purely thanks to the crowd in Narae discussion rooms - my two Naraes who are being made at the moment are totally DoA find.

And DoA certainly has made me drool on quite a few dolls which I won't be getting any time soon but maybe in the future heh. Who knows.

    3. I bought a WS Angel of Dream Liu Yin as a result of seeing Kahoku007s gorgeous Sydelle on DoA :aheartbea

    4. Yder. ^^; Who I didn't much like on the Luts site, but when I saw 'regular' pictures of him floating around here, I decided he pretty much had to be mine. :> I found someone who was selling an Elf Yder in the marketplace and snapped him up, she gets the final payment tomorrow and he can come home soon. <3

    5. I didn't find Soom till I came to DoA after getting my first doll...so yeah, wouldn't have my Sabik nestled next to me, and be awaiting a Heliot and Glati, without these forums! I only wish I found it earlier, then I would have known of Soom in time to order a Sard.

    6. My IH Tania and the ones still hanging out on my wishlist.

      IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT.

      XP

    7. I haven't bought dolls as a result of seeing owner photos but the Marketplace has been fairly deadly for me. I bought my Customhouse Special Line Jun, Customhouse Choa & Ceebee both with Evenstar face-ups & various other kids that either had special face-ups or were nice bargains. The Customhouse dolls were ones that I wouldn't have been able to get any other way so DoA is directly responsible for my having them.

    8. Shushu has pretty much leapt to the top of my list since I stumbled upon this thread. And I'm sure it won't be the last time either.

    9. as for me, I purchased my Nasia from a member here. I would have never known that she even existed were it not for the forums here. before I got here I had a notably limited knowledge of BJD. will it happen again, I'm not sure. it's likely that Fumiko will be my only BJD, but only time will tell.

    10. If i haven't looked in the marketplace i wouldn't have found Clavis...
I've always been undecisive between AA4 and AA16, but i was ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE when i saw the AA4 on the marketplace...

      Thankss DoA =']

    11. i hated the mnf miyu at first
but then i saw some owner pics on DOA
and i had to have her :aheartbea
now i love her so much i won't be wanting another doll for a while.

    12. My Migidoll Ryu's. When I saw Hiritai's Hayden, I fell in love with the mold. Now I have two twin MD Ryu's. Both bought in the marketplace.

    13. I've bought.. well.. both of my dolls as a result of DoA!!

When I discovered these dolls I studied very hard to find the ones I wanted.. and that studying included Den of Angels. At first I wanted every single doll I saw, but then it narrowed down a bit... :)

At first I only knew about Dream of Doll and Lati, so if it weren't for DoA, I wouldn't have most of the dolls I have on my wishlist!

    14. Directly?
Probably just finding myself interested, then getting my first would qualify.
However, getting my Hound.... that's a 120% certainty.
      Either way, I'm sunk. LOL

    15. My most recent purchase, actually XD I'm getting a mnf shushu vampire elf head, who i never would have seen was for sale if not for our marketplace.

The marketplace is a very dangerous place XD Talk about impulse buys! Owner picsof shushu have made me want AND not want her, but here i am buying her little VE head XD

    16. Another post from me~

A while back, I was pretty much convinced that I would never, EVER own anything remotely related to Unoa. Well, that didn't last. After seeing many Sists, Lusis...es (:huh?:..) and L-Bis, I was smitten.

I'm now the owner of Lusis and L-Bi faceplates. I'm saving for MNF bodies now - which I also believed weren't for me until I saw that lovely little A-line body in action! :o

And the Lazule I'm saving for on the side too? I was a little interested in him but unsure of how he'd look without my mind always traveling back to how Soom presents him on the site. My opinion of Lazule completely changed when I laid eyes on the boy formerly known Beck.

    17. Well, I haven't actually bought him yet, but I have plans to. ^^ A CP Moon. I really disliked his store pictures, and I didn't bother looking for others. Then I saw A-m's Io, and I thought he was GORGEOUS. I went to look at other owner pictures and found that he was beautiful in every one, regardless of faceup or clothing. So I started looking at more and more pictures. Then a character, one I was about to scrap (He wasn't opening up to me, and I just couldn't seem to find a sculpt that FIT him.), just bloomed and took possesion of that face. Now he's bugging me to make money and buy him a body. xD I can safely say that if I wasn't a member here, I wouldn't have read any of A-m's photostories, and I wouldn't have seen Io. And if I hadn't seen Io, I probably would have scrapped Alistaire.

    18. Every doll I have. And all the ones on my wishlist except Ducan and Yder, since I'd seen them before I came here. I had only seen a few owner photos before, and was directed here as the best place to learn about BJD's. My initial thoughts were "I'll never be able to afford one, but I'll learn about them and see the pretty pictures". Then, after looking around here, I though "Well, I can save up and buy one in 6 months or so..." Then it became "Well, I'll save up for the girl, then 2 boys, and that'll take a couple years and it'll be enough..."

      Then I got marketplace access.

Now I have 2 full dolls, two heads, another full doll being shipped as we speak, and a body on order... and am still saving for that girl I was planning to have be my only doll. My plan is to order her within the next few weeks, and try to limit purchases as much as possible after that until the fall. We'll see how well I stick to it.

    19. Ahaha, I blame the news thread!
I would have never seen any of the Soom dolls anywhere else (well, I saw Beryl on a live journal, but I wasn't too interested at the time)
Also, if it wasn't for the marketplace, I wouldn't have found my Toshiya head :)

    20. What she said. :)
Sure, it took the friend to point me here and plant the seed in my mind of making an Ichigo doll, but it was all this place that got me the information I needed, and continues to feed the need.
Oh yes! And vive la marketplace!!! Without which, I wouldn't have at least half the dolls I do have!
