What emotion do you like your doll to have?

Apr 22, 2014

    1. I like a usual look, at some under a different foreshortening it is possible to see both a smile and grief.

    2. I love dreaming faces, and I love the look of a patronizing doll, I think it's quite classy; I don't think I would own smily dolls (that's quite a shame =D)

    3. I like dolls with either a gentle, lolita-type dreamy faceups made of pastels or sassy, attitude-filled faceups with fierce and clearly fake eyebrows. I like all kinds of dramatic, though. Especially dolls that can "change expression," so to speak, with such versatile faceups.

    4. I like happy dolls, a soft gentle smile is good too. But no sad dolls on my doll family. I do like to play with the eyes so they look "sassy". Recently, I've been attracted to the "sleepy" eye faces...

    5. I like my doll to have a little cocky look in his face, but I guess it depend on the character.

    6. For me, it depends on the character of the doll. But I do like more neutral to slightly smiley doll faces so they can lend well to versatile faceups. Though, if the character is cocky, I'll want more of smirky smile to him to work with. Really, it all depends on what character the doll will be.

    7. I like serious, sweet or natural expressions. I adore some of the smiling sculpts like the Angel of Dream Huixiang :D
But I have seen some sculpts where the dolls look like they are actually crying, I thought that was kinda creepy though...

    8. I prefer sweet/natural/gentle expressions. I've noticed that gentle faces are rather hard to find on SD male dolls, though. Most of the ones I find are too serious, arrogant or haughty.

    9. I definitely prefer dolls with a bit of a smile. Like, a subtle smile or smirk, not a toothy grin.

    10. It really depends but for my current doll (Iplehouse Stella) I prefer arrogant, confident and cold :)

    11. Depends entirely on the character's personality... But I don't like to be stuck with one really definite expression. Usually I try to go for something that's a little bit neutral even within that range, so that from different angles it can sort of create slightly different expressions if that makes any sense?

    12. I agree that it depends on the characters personality, but usually I like dolls with sad, haughty or gentle faces.

    13. I like dolls with gentle, subtile smiles. Nothing too exaggerated. ^^
I found out, that I really prefer this over most other expressions.
Since my dolls will be based on my own characters, I could also imagine a doll with a more serious look to it.
(But only because it would fit the character more)
Personally I would ever prefer a hinted smile over any other expression. :)

    14. For me I think each doll's expression should go with their character. My most recent doll is very happy, optimistic, innocent, and peaceful and I want her face, when she gets one, to reflect that. But I have characters in mind who are sad a lot, or who are mischievous or snarky and I will want their face ups to reflect that too. I don't think I have a preference for expressions but I suppose happy ones will make me happier to look at, if that makes any sense.

    15. I have someting with sad dolls, I don't know why but I just want to cuddle them. I can't stand seeing someone sad so maybe it works also with dolls...

    16. It really depends on the character of each doll. Everyone one of the dolls I will have will be part of a fantasy story line. So some maybe evil, and some maybe angelic

    17. I hear you on the patronizing look. I've been searching for a Summer Term Rosette Fir for AGES, because she just looks down on you with a sneer like "ugh, peasants" and its perfect for the character I'm planning.

As for my own dolls, they've all got a chronic case of b-face for some reason. I've yet to *really* fall hard for a smiling face, but that might change if I ever get into YoSDs

    18. It depends on the doll, but I usually do go with a "set" emotion, depending on who they are and how I've bonded with them. They're all pretty intense, though-- I have a doll who looks very worried, one who looks quite indignant, one who seems easy-going and content...

Fennel, the most recent doll I've painted, has the "Excuse you, peasant" look down pat XD You have to love a diva...

    19. I'd like my dolls having a smile in their faces and a naughty look xD if not, I'd like them looking serious or pensive.

    20. My girls are little girls! I have two LTF's and one is more serious, the other a bit mischievous but they compliment each other!
