    1. I strongly prefer female dolls, but I actually tend to be more interested in more feminine/androgynous male face sculpts over a lot of the female face sculpts. I think it might be because a lot of doll companies I like tend to have more stylized/childlike faces, while their boys look more mature/defined (presumably to make them appear more masculine while still trying to maintain their style), which fits my idea of semi-realism. I plan on my first doll being a hybrid with a female body and a male head.

I'm glad to see that so many other people have strong gender preferences too, because I kind of felt a little weird about it. I do like some of the more feminine/androgynous boys though, but I don't think I've found any that I like enough to try to save up for in the future. I just find that girls inspire my creativity a lot more than boys do.

    2. I feel that one so much and I tend to get male advertised head sculpts on female bodies as well. At least in the mini range it's quite easy because the neck circumferences are much closer compared to bigger dolls.

    3. When I first started in the hobby I had all male dolls. Since then I've gotten some female dolls in my crew. At this point I'm not picky on one or the other. It just matters if I like the sculpt and have inspiration for it.

    4. Now that I have 2 boys 1 girl, I Can tell You, that I still don't know. Few days ago I just looking for a girl sculpt for my fourth doll, but I fell in love with a Miracle Doll boy, two Dollpamm tinies, and I still have a crush on Granado Uranus. :nosebleed(I've got this crush for four years at least)And still not find a girl I like to buy... :doh It's totally clear now, that I like boys better, than girls. Maybe I Go for Uranus next year... Or wait for the perfect girl, who will fit my crew. Me and my strict rules. :XD:

    5. i definitely prefer boys! Mainly because most of my characters are dudes :P. i never really was into super feminine or hyper masculine.. so slightly androgynous guys and girls are my favorite thing ^_^). i’d never have my boys crossdress or things like that >_<) dresses are not my favorite at all… even dresses or skirts with a “darker” style. I’m sure they’d hate me if i wanted to dress them like that anyway ;^_^).

I think I want a girl doll to fit a character sometime (not in the near future), but she’d still totally wear boyish clothing!

    6. I guess it is up to individual taste and the sculpts. I have seen interesting sculpts in all areas. Though personally I would go with male or female dolls.

    7. It doesn't matter to me. I love all genders. Female dolls, male dolls etc.

However, I do enjoy making girl dolls into boys and boy dolls into girls :D I think all dolls of any gender are beautiful.

    8. I like mostly dolls that have a soft look to them; boys and girls dolls. Since I only have old dolls of 15+ years, I’m only familiar with these, but since I’ve only recently rediscovered them, I don’t remember who is who! lol
I would like a realistic one maybe someday, with a celebrity look of maybe Keanu Reeves or similar.

    9. I don't really think about it much. I have some female, some male, some inbetween. If i find i like the doll i usually get it. some times i ponder how other stuff will look on them and thats how i found out my albino boy looked adorable in girly clothes and became gender fluid.. so yeah ^^;

    10. This is so relatable! I would like a SD male at some point to be the husband for my SD girl!

    11. I'm afraid to commit to saying I prefer girl dolls because in a year I might end up preferring only male dolls... But, girl dolls are part of what got me into the hobby! Like a lot of the lesbians in this thread, I also prefer girl dolls. I think it's because I've historically preferred male characters in the media I consume, just because I tend to relate to them more. So I kind of wanted to create my own female characters to relate to, maybe, and I just prefer to look at the female form... There is one male character I really want to shell, and have picked out a sculpt for, but in general I just prefer girl dolls.

    12. I only have one doll I intend to keep atm, but so far I adore girl dolls! I think part of it is that boy bodies are either really muscly and defined, which can look a little off with some of the gentle, ethereal faces many bjds have, or they're super childlike and hard to take seriously. It seems like its easier to find girl bodies that walk a middle path between being too mature and too immature which I like. Also, I think its easier to accessorize girls because girls can typically wear whatever, but most people have a much narrower idea of what boys and men can wear.

    13. No preference at all. I actually try to keep the ratio equal. No 3rd wheels lol.

    14. Boys for sure! I like the looks of boy clothing. So I buy them for my boys cuz I can't wear them myself seeing I'm a girl :p (obviously I could, but I'm short and tiny and I dont wanna look like a student wannabe

    15. I don’t think I have an actual preference! I do own more girls, but that is because I feel like there are more unique female sculpts available than male!? But overall, I don’t think to have a preference. :) I love all my dolls :D

    16. When I was thinking about my first doll, all I wanted was a pretty girl which I could stare at all the time. I've chosen MSD one. Then I bought another MSD, which I've never completed and sold at the end. Then I came up for idea to shell a roleplay characters I've used to write years ago. The main character was a guy, and there should be 2 girls which both are in love with him. So I've bought him first, and then, instead of buying girls, I've bought a friend of him, Lucas. Another boy. He's gay, so I decided to buy him a boyfriend, which I'm still waiting for. Then pygmalion opened preorder, and I've ordered Robin. So there's 4 guys already, and I'm planning to buy 2 more for the story. So I guess I prefer boys now. :XD:

And ofc my grail is also a guy. It's LLT Ahaz. I could sell my soul to get him.

    17. I do prefer male dolls, because i got a lot of male OCs i could match with some dolls (and I'm totally in love with Eric from Iplehouse since i saw it).
But i have to admit some female dolls are trully beautyful ! :O

    18. Female, because I like female fashion more than male fashion. I'm not opposed to boy dolls or anything, maybe the right one will come along some day.... but I haven't seen him yet. I like Dream Valley's Vine a lot, but not enough to spend my money on him!

    19. Actually I find myself drawn more to male or androgynous characters, but find I end up getting girls every time. Maybe it's because I identify that way and they are easier for me to style?

    20. I prefer male dolls (masculine/feminine/androgynous, I'm not picky in that regard), just like I prefer male characters (in my own creations and others'). It's not that I don't like female dolls, I'm totally drawn to some, I just don't seem to connect with them as well as I do the boys. Probably because I mostly like male characters and find most female characters in media annoying lmao. Out of the 58 dolls I currently have, only 4 are female. >>; Though, unlike a lot of people it seems, my preference has nothing to do with fashion and how easy or difficult it is to style them. Fashion's hard for me no matter what doll it is lmao
