1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. As someone who got into dolls to make them clothes, definitely female dolls. I love my boy but there's nothing like making cute dresses and trendy items for a girl doll. I feel like there's endless possibilities when it comes to sewing for a girl.

    2. My dolls are all female, some girly, others badass, other tomboyish.
I can project myself into a female doll, besides sewing, It's one of the many reasons I'm in the hobby.

    3. My 3 dolls are all male, but they wear frills and silk and velvet too. Like Louis and Lestat in the Vampire Chronicles - sometimes in the clothes of their potential victims. :-) I have never thought of buying female dolls - dunno really why. Whenever I was considering a new doll for my doll family, I was inspired by a new male doll.

    4. Honestly, you could totally just make feminine clothes for a male doll! Most of the time, especially with msd, their sizes aren’t that off so you wouldn’t have to change the patterns much. I’m the same way with my irl clothes in that I think mens clothing is super ugly, so I wear womens clothes despite being a guy lol

    5. My collection is currently perfectly balanced, lol. Two boys, two girls, two NB.

    6. My collection depends on whether the doll fits my aesthetic. I had 4 dolls from an artist who exclusively made female dolls, and 1 doll from another artist who only made male doll, and the others really depend on whether the artist was making female/male/agender dolls. :XD:

    7. I much prefer female dolls. Of the 6 dolls I currently own only one is male and he is quite likely to remain my only male doll. I generally find female bodies more appealing and I like to focus on female characters in my stories.

    8. I like how cool masculine dolls look but im far too creeped out by muscles to get one that looks masculine. If i could get one with a cool masculine face then i'd probably get the head separate and try to match it to a body without abs or anything.

I'm weirdly creeped out by abs and muscular chests bc i mean.. you can see the inside of a body through the skin 3__3

    9. I feel like I enjoy feminine or more androgynous dolls. I feel like I just enjoy more femme clothing for my dolls so more masc ones don't interest me as much unless I've got a specific character in mind!

    10. I really like more feminine or androgynous dolls! I just have a lot more fun styling them over masculine dolls, personally. :)

    11. I lean vaaaasssstly into the boys, and androgynous can be acceptable. There's only one girl I've seen where I've gone "well, if I get a girl doll at some point, she's cute" but I don't like enough to seriously consider purchasing right now.

    12. I faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar prefer female dolls. The more feminine the better. I don't have any guy dolls and probably never will. I already spend all of my time being a dude. While I'm not a hulking adonis or anything, I'm more masculine than not. Let me live in the female/feminine world for a while with my dolls.

    13. Doesn't really matter to me. I've got males, female, others... just depends of what's right for the character

    14. I prefer girls, but I definitely looked into owning a male doll before and even purchased an outfit - not the greatest decision I've made haha. But since I like sharing my clothes between dolls, I'll stay girl bodies only. Can't imagine it any other way right now.

    15. I own almost exclusively male dolls. It's always been boys for me in the hobby. They definitely speak to my heart a lot more than female dolls can. Right now I have 2 girls out of the 38 dolls I own and after some layaways come in I'll have 57 and only 6 of them will be girls :XD: I love girls, but I just can't bond with feminine pretty for pretty's sake. With boys, the possiblities are endless for me and I do fine with handsome for handsome's sake. Some of them are a bit effeminate and I love it, but they're all still clearly dudes. So no androgyny for my collection.

I'm the type who needs to have some sort of character or personality for most dolls and prefer writing with male characters. I also love styling clothing for dudes and love casual clothing, but I find matching and styling female clothing to be too daunting. And, you know, being surrounded by handsome dudes is fine with me xD

    16. I got a whole male harem with just two females and a little naivete (just because they're so cute). I prefer more male because there's not much female sculpt that I like. When I'm looking to buy a bjd they have to have something like feature my character has for my to be interest.

    17. Oh man it depends on the maker but mostly I love androgynous boys..I do love female dolls as well but my collection heavily features males…

    18. Personally I like female dolls more so than male dolls. That is not to say that I don't enjoy or like male dolls or male sculpts. I do have some on my WTB list that I would like to end up having. However, the overwhelming majority of the dolls I do like and want to purchase eventually are female.

    19. I connect better With more masculine like sculpts. But they tend to be feminine boys, but maybe that’s because I’m gay but who knows ‍♂️

    20. These days I really prefer very feminine girls
I used to love collecting mainly boys but idk maybe it got old for me? Or maybe I just realized how much I prefer dressing girls so my collection is almost all girls at this point
