1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What if our dolls had Jointed Fingers?

Feb 21, 2006

    1. there are actually dolls that have bj fingers. i think dollzone has one of them, but it might not be up on the sight anymore. it also made the doll about 200 dollars extra. not worth it in my oppenion

    2. I recently saw a jointed finger hand. I didn't care for it myself. I would rather swap out the entire hand. The joints take away from the aesthetics of the hand, that is all you see.

    3. Maybe as option hands- something you could switch out when they needed to hold something.

    4. I would love to have some :D

But I think only soom makes them... so not a lot of dolls could have them XP

It would be great to not need other hands :D

    5. I would love to have a doll with jointed hands/fingers. So much is expressed through our hands that I think it would be great if the hands were either jointed or made pliable enough so that they could be bent for more expression.

    6. I love Soom's jointed hands! In some photos I do tend to focus a bit much on the joints, but in person they are absolutely awesome. I was lucky enough to see some at a meet up. I adore Fairyland's system with the magnets for the Minifees, but wish they'd make a few more options. The jointed hands give you all the options!

    7. I like the hands that are out now, because they are simply gorgeous, so I don't think I'd want all BJDs to have jointed hands...

I have the worst obsession (I'd use the word fetish, but that word might have too many sexual connotations) with hands and the fact that BJDs have realistic ones is a big part of their charm for me. However, if I ever wanted a doll that actually looked like a doll--I'm thinking automated doll/living doll style here--those would be wonderfully fun in their own right.

      Hope that sounds right...

    8. I know several companies have jointed fingers...
      For LARGER dolls.
If they had them for MSD size, I'd totally go for it! :D

      EDIT:

Only because I love MSDs :3 Their perfectly sized! <3

    9. I saw that SOOM had jointed finger options for some of their dolls, and while it would be really neat to be able to position them to hold/do things that they can't with solid hands, I really don't think it's very aesthetically pleasing... So I'll probably never get them.

    10. I really like the look of the SOOM jointed fingers. I'd love to get one of their large dolls with these hands.

    11. I love Soom's jointed fingers! I wish they made them in smaller sizes as well so i could have a pair for every doll i plan on getting...also need a BIG pair for the AoD Bo i plan on getting...and i wish other companies made them so that they would match the resin. Really, i like the look, and i like the idea. I just wish they were more available...and already strung when you got them T.T I'm to scared of the idea of stringing those little buggers to actually order a pair. Stringing a full doll scares me, let along the hands! O.O

    12. I've seen jointed fingers. It wasn't my cup of tea. I like the pretty graceful hands better, even if you can't move them.

    13. @w@ I want soom's jointed hands so badly~~~ >w<

but they'll have to wait till I actually get a soom boy. OTL @w@ like. two or three years from now, I suppose. OTL

    14. Yeah, I'm pretty sure SOOM carries jointed hands, but I'm not sure if that was the case 2 years ago (which is how old this thread is, LOL).

      Pros:
      - Can hold anything from an umbrella to a cocktail glass to a violin.
      - Can hold hands with another doll more realistically
      - Can do all kinds of finger-expressions, e.g. come-hither, look-over-there!, how-dare-you-overtake-me!

      Cons:
      - Another chunk of money... *sigh*
      - Can look gawdawful in pics if not done right
      - Awfully hard to blush
      - How exactly do you string the fingers? @ @

So I guess it's up to each person to decide...

    15. I'd love to have jointed fingers for my kids...but...

      Pros:
-Can hold each other or things better.
-Can point the middle finger(for Apollo....:sweat).

      Cons:
-My hair will most definitely snag in the joints...they already snag in the wrist joints...sometimes elbows...:|
-Stringing...I'll most likely be okay with keeping the parts as normal...but the number of parts to string is the problem...:|
      -Blushing...more parts to blush....*_*

That's all... I'm more worried about my hair snagging. Hair snagging in one joint is easy to remove. But if it snags in more than 1 joint...:doh

    16. I saw joint hands and i adore them i would like see all my dollies whit that kind of hands!!!!

    17. My lazule has jointed hands.
It is actually a bother sometimes, since his fingers do tend to twist in painfull looking positions. Plus the fact that they aren't strung that tight makes it hard for him holding something in mid air. I don't dare to restring his hands (just take the hand of the wristjoint and strings are visible) since the resin is actually thin.
That's also the reason why I don't think it's possible for smaller hands. Allready these jointed fingers are small and fragile looking.

    18. Although these hands are designated at Soom as Mecha Angel they actually fit a wide variety of boy dolls. They fit the Super Gem body perfectly, both Dollshe bodies, the Volks SD17 and SD13 - I'm sure they're being successfully used on other bodies, but those are the ones I have here!

Jointed hands are, for me, the perfect choice for complete articulation!

    19. a note about the Soom jointed hands for those thinking of getting them.....
they used to come assembled, but now they are offered as a kit, you need to string them yourself. don't let this discourage you from ordering them. i have not done much in the way of any kind of doll re-stringing, but i assembled them easily.....

if "i" can do it..... anyone can..... :)
