1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What if our dolls had Jointed Fingers?

Feb 21, 2006

    1. The hands don't look skeletal at all, to me. I find that an interesting observation. Especially the Soom hands - they look very realistic. Before the jointed hands, I was very picky about the molded hands I preferred - and the Dollshe hands are VERY nice, especially when blushed, but even then I found them too "static." The jointed hands open up endless possibilities for poses!

    2. I've seen hands like those!!!! I think SOOM has some! I think it's neat-o, but unless it comes with the doll, I see no need to buy them. They are pretty sweet though.

    3. I've seen them once, and they were REALLY expencive. XP
      But awesome too.
      I definitely want some! Then holding items would be easier. XD;;

    4. That would be too much for me, personally. I really like my dolls to have simpler, more doll-like jointing as opposed to complicated fiddly bits I've always got to mess with. ^^;;

    5. I LOVE the jointed hands...I have the Soom ones and they are so much fun to play with!
      The articulation is wonderful and the gestures you can do with them is really awesome...well worth the effort to get some...I'd like them on all my boys.....

    6. I believe Unidoll aleady has some for their knight doll.

    7. I have nothing significant to add, just that I would KILL for all dolls to have jointed hands. They are such a novel concept!

    8. I agree with Zagzagael. I hope to have enough saved when I order my Soom Sabik to get those delicious hands.

    9. I would love to have some jointed hands for my delf. Not so much my girls, I think. My hubby also thinks it would be really neat. He saw them on the Soom site and went :o :D

    10. Is the Soom site the same as the Unidoll? or am I asking a real dumb question.

      Jointed hands are awesome! They're what inspired me to make my clockwork cybernetic boy :)
      I'm not sure if I like the aesthetic of the hand representing a real hand, but as a robot hand? YES PLEASE.

    12. I can never stop staring at those hands kuro, they're lovely. I'm glad this thread is up and kicking. Who would've thought soom would've jumped and make some awesome hands. I still stand by my thoughts and I'd love some of these hands but for a female.

    13. It's really tempting, but I'm the type that, in the end, just prefers aesthetic over complicated poseability.

    14. Thanks! I'm actually thinking about making some cybernetic jointed hands of my own... I figure it'd be interesting to make a hand entirely out of different thicknesses of brass tubing...;)

    15. I'm hoping for the same -- I would love jointed female hands. I wonder if it could be done with a bit of shaping? Way beyond me personally, but I would imagine it is possible.

      Edit: Curses. That linked pic just sold me on a pair this FFD... like Soom needed any more of my paycheck... *whimper*

    16. I like the poseability of jointed hands but I'm not completely sold on them though because I like regular hands just fine...the joints stick out a lot for me so I'd always be drawn to them and ignore the doll's pretty face ^^;

    17. I got to play with them in person at a doll meet. If they came in a tan to match Keijo and/or Shin I wouldn't think twice about getting them if I had a real use for them. The Soom hands are 10000 times better looking than on the website, in person.

      I probably wouldn't get them though. Mostly because I'd never have anything interesting to take pictures of while using them. :sweat My dolls tend not to do too much jokey stuff, or non serious movements thus I wouldn't have a use. :sweat

    18. I have a SOOM hand, it's amazing, the more I play with it the more I love it, I thought they were cool before but now I actually have one I'm just totaly fascinated by it.

      I know its sad but its living in my handbag untilI get the doll I bought it for, I take it everywhere to show to people ;lol

      the only thing really stopping me from getting them on all my planned dolls is that theres not many styes available at the moment and I have a thing about my dolls all being different to each other body sculpt-wise so I'm not sure if I could cope with them all having the same hands, if more become available in the relevant resin tone though I deffinatly consider upgrading
