1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What is the most you've spent for dolls in one day?

Mar 13, 2013

    1. When I got my doll, I went and started getting a bunch of stuff for her and her future brother that I'm hoping to purchase, so I spent probably around $800.

Other than that I spent one day about $250 for clothes and accessories.

    2. Ok I splurged alot last year when it came to dolls. I bought two fairyland dolls: one FS and one a-le carte. About over $800 which is the MOST I've spent on dolls to date and I've been in the hobby since last October. As for clothes, wigs, and eyes I mostly buy those spiratically so I don't exactly think I've spent alot on those per say. It's such a pricey hobby but if you can manage your money well it's not a problem to spoil yourself with dolls.

    3. I try not to feel bad about spending a lot at once because I know in the long run, I'm saving on shipping costs. Better to carefully plan out and budget for a large order once in a while than to make a ton of small impulse buys.

When you spend a lot at once I think you are more likely to really think it through, and choose the things you really want and will enjoy.

    4. Wow! I am glad I got mine when I won the lottery from We Love Dolls or Kerby Lane. I don't remember which one I got him from. He was less than $1000 then! Did he have a special faceup?

    5. At one time I was close to $800 for 2 dolls, thought $300 of that was paid back to me later by a friend so I'm not sure if I should count that.
I also (actually very recently) dropped about $170 on just clothing, accessories, and supplies. That's probably the most I've spent at once on anything other than a doll, and I'm still reeling a bit from it. :P

    6. No including when I bought the doll herself.. about $200 getting clothing and wigs.
Definitely plan to spend more, though.

    7. Oh gosh... When I bought Pete and Billy, I already had Pete's wig and eyes waiting, but I think I bought Billy's wig at the same time-- AND pairs of wings, shoes, and extra hands (1 pair of each of the above, I mean) for Billy and a shirt for Pete. I don't remember what my total was, but that was the most at one time. (I already had pyjama pants waiting for Pete that had been modesty leggings of Vince's while I was working on his wardrobe, hence my buying him a shirt but no pants at the time. He's since gotten a pair of pants I love)

    8. Last night definitely did it... it was over $2100 for orders from two different makers, but thankfully the larger of the two is a "split" order, so about half of its cost came from another local collector, or I'd be totally freaking out over that total!

    9. A few days ago I just paid off a Taobao GO with a couple of Toronto friends and the total was around $950....and this was just for clothes and accessories!! My most expensive fullset doll purchase was probably a Dollfie Dream Nia from Mandarake. She didn't even have to be that expensive but with the horrible dollar to yen exchange a while back she was around $1100 with shipping *_*

    10. Coming in at a fairly low 370 right now! Might be breaking that TODAY but it would come out to about 500 so I'm still doing okay... (Or at least I keep telling myself that. XD)

    11. seriously? In one day? so far it was something around 150$ only xD expensive things and dolls always I took in installments
150$ was instant payment for my yosd girl

    12. The most I spent outright (not a lay-away) on a bjd was $1200 with shipping for an IPlehouse EID man (Dexter). That included face-up, blushing and a couple of wigs. He hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully, I won't regret it. :)

    13. $515 for Yui, her sleeping face plate, faceups on both, extra hands, a wig... Don't tell my family. >< She arrived today and I am so psyched to open her box! My next boy will be $330 approx. Won't order him for another half a year though.

    14. Hurms...I think I've spent about around $1,000-$1,200 a Volks SD17 lottery doll and I don't regret it in the least! That bit of handsome resin sweet is totally worth it.^_^

    15. The most I spent in a day was almost 800$ outright for my SSDF Avalanche Rom. Ver. with wig, shoes and shipping together. Now I'm waiting for him to arrive and hope that he is really worth for my 800$ :) (I believe he is because he is my third wish and third love at first sight doll at all.)

    16. 200 USD, max. I don't work yet so, all the money I spent is from my dad so, I have to limit my expenses :c

    17. :)I have spent 111.00 in one day and l bought clothes and shoes for my obitsu 45cm girl named Rini.

    18. The two dolls I'm waiting on are definitely the most I've spent. I spent $1050 total on the two of them with company faceups and a couple sets of high heeled feet and hands.

Since then I've definitely spent a few hundred dollars on clothes, wigs and eyes, since I had nothing.
I've also got $680 worth of art supplies for face-ups sitting in an Amazon.com shopping cart just waiting until I'm ready to buy those, too.

    19. I just bought my first SD and she was about 500 which is a lot for me ;w; usually I only buy one or two doll things per paycheck, like a wig one paycheck then the eyes then the outfit etc!

    20. Hmmm not for a doll itself but for clothes and supplies... But probably around $500
