What is your grail doll?

I don't think I have a 'grail doll' per se. There's no be-all and end-all sculpt for me. I've had a few dolls on my wish list for a long time, but I don't have an ultimate goal to acquire one specific doll above all the others. I like a lot of different dolls, and each one that I manage to acquire sends me on a unique little quest that's slightly different every time. I guess you could say all my dolls were 'grail dolls' in that sense.

 

Hello, I'm just curious about people's dream doll. By this I mean the one the you love and want the most. And do you have them, or not? If not, why?
If you can put a picture of the doll and share the story on how you obtain them, it would be great!

In my case, my dream is Ezekiel by Bluoxyde . I felt in love with him at the first sight. He's the first (and the last since then) male doll I've ever like. He just have this attitude that stands out. There is so much character in him.
And yes ... I don't/can't have him. If Bluoxyde ever think about selling him, I would rob the back for the money haha! I'm just kidding ... or am I? muahahaha

Soom Ender was my grail, except I didn't care for his default body. I drooled over him for almost 2 years, then finally, the dream came true! My husband bought him for me as a holiday/birthday gift.

My other dream is a BlueBloodDoll Phoenix. This doll was limited and hand cast 5 years ago, so I doubt I'll ever get to own him.

 

My dream doll is Volks' DD Nia. I couldn't afford her when she was originally up for sale and now the resale value has put her forever out of my reach. -.- I was considering if Luts' new anime style Coco might not make a good substitute, especially since I prefer MSD size...but her outfit and hair would be pretty impossible to replicate. So... -.-

 

My grail doll, whom I don't think I'll ever buy is a Volks SDGr Lorina fullset. I don't do dolls that aren't intended for my characters, so I see no reason to buy her, but who knows?
I have a dream doll I intend to buy someday. An Iplehouse SID Giorgio. And I own two of my dream dolls. Napidoll Chesi and Crobidoll Lance.

 

My dream doll is : Dollfie Dream Beatrice Hopefully, I find her head sculpt with a reasonable price

 

My dream doll is a LUTS BLUE KNIGHT COMMANDER Abadon. I found images of him back when he was released in a google image search for an anime character who wears blue armor. I didn't realize he was a doll until years later when I recognized the face of my best friends Abadon.
I finally got my hands on most of him just this past month, still need the normal body.I found the modified head from the release from a DoA user then my boyfriend bought me the armor set off another DoA user and we're saving up for the rest now.

Two of my dream dolls I am getting as heads just so I can have them.I can't afford them with their own bodies but I am getting Essex and Sara heads from Dollmore. They're slim MSD sized pretty much. But my holy grail of BJD's still remains an Iple Luo in NS, basic. The doll, the head anything, I just want a pretty Luo SOOOO bad, lol. 2nd makeup down, blond wig? That's my idea of one gorgeous big fantasy boy and I'd nearly kill, but he's way out of my budget, period. I'd have to mortgage my house or raise a posse and hold up Iplehouse to get my hands on him... :P

My dream doll and the one that started this whole wallet draining hobby is DD Yoko. I wasn't aware of her when she was available firsthand and probably wouldn't have had the money anyway. And the 2nd hand market makes her fairly out of my reach. When she costs as much as half my current vehicle, I just don't think I could justify it. Another doll I really want is an Iplehouse Tatiana with the default A faceup. I don't have a ginger girl in my little family and she's just adorable. I've bought enough dolls this year so maybe in a year or so. DZ annie was one of my dream dolls from the moment I saw her last summer. But she's mine now lol. I bought her back in december when DZ had an event so I even got her outfit for free. She's awesome!

 

Having acquired my main triad of grails -Crobidoll DD Lance, Switch Seoha and the penultimate grail of mine Immortality of Soul Chaos-the later two as heads only for the time being since I couldn't afford bodies for them when I found them nor do their default bodies suit their characers any, I moved on to acquire a new grail to shoot for. The next grail is one that has nothing to do with my narrow-eyed smirky men, as a matter of fact it's a completely different kind of doll even, a Dollfie Dream Sister Mariko-sensei. I don't know what it is about that particular doll but I'm just so drawn to her! Initially I had written her off as impossible to get due to her being completely out of my price range but I recently decided to save up for her regardless.

 

After many years in the hobby I've acquired many of my grail dolls and have gone through the painful process of Discovery->Desire->OMG IT'S SO RARE AND EXPENSIVE->Despair->Determination->Success! over and over again... and yet I still find myself wanting another grail doll to punish myself. I don't know why I do this to myself~

My first grail (Volks Williams) was the most difficult to get because at that time he was wildly popular and had no re-release. After acquiring him it gave me a lot more knowledge on how to acquire difficult to obtain dolls. I think it's desensitized me to the notion of 'Holy Grail/Unobtainable Doll' minus One-Offs and the like.

So currently my grails are:

Volks SDGr Miruku

 

I have two. My first has been a SWITCH Milhwa for a really long time. When I first saw the mold I instantly fell in love and knew I had to have him. My other grail doll would be a Soom Dia. After seeing what the amazing bjd community has done to the sculpt, it has made me want one for myself. I believe, though, that I could get a Soom Dia before I could afford a Milhwa.

 

My grail happens to be a Limhwa Half Elf :3 She is just as affordable as any other her size~ I fell in love with her sculpt the first time i saw her on dA

 

Fairyland Chicline Lishe, they're so small yet so detailed.

 

My grail dolls are either expensive or no longer on the market (boo, I missed out). My first are the small resin dolls just recently released by Enchanted Doll (otherwise known for porcelain) and a limited edition Iplehouse Asa dressed as a geisha. I'm really big into asian-looking BJDs.

 

Migidoll Vampire Miho, for sure. I often sit and drool over pictures of him but since all of my other dolls and the dolls I'm planning on getting are MSDs I'm not so certain it would work.
Maybe one day...

 

My grail doll.. It was a Lev from SoulDoll, the Tarot Collection! I finally got one, but I never did find his outfit that was supposed to come with it! But it's all good though~ He's absolutely dandy without it~

 

Mine is a Soom Lami (particularly the surprised one, I just find that the cutest face ever!!), whom I would name "Boo"

Considering money is slim for me right now, Boo will not be home anytime soon :C

 

My current doll (MSD AngelRegion Little Fair Cien) is my grail doll. and I'm getting a boy (Illusion Spirit Zhujin MSD). I have this feeling of no matter what kind of doll they are they will always be my grail dolls because I searched them high and low to find them and I did

 

I've been fawning (heh) over Soom Amber ever since she was released, although back then I was in High School and actually buying a doll seemed like something that would never be possible. While I consider her my grail doll, I love pretty much all hooved dolls. Resinsoul's MSD hooved body is absolutely gorgeous and I intend to obtain one at some point, when I feel like I'm ready to work on a second doll.
