What is your grail doll?

cirquemom, I just wanted to say congratulations! I love St. Mina too and had that particular girl on my watch list - I get all giddy inside whenever I see a Mina for sale, even if I have no intention of buying So glad you're able to finally bring her home!

 

I have a few. One of them I know I'll have little to no trouble getting as he's not overly expensive (I use the term "overly" loosely >.>), the others I'd only be able to get second hand, and would cost an arm and a leg. My attainable one is DollZone Yue. He's one of the very few dolls that I look at now the same way I did when I first saw him. The others are: Volks Masamune Date, Asleep Eidolon Sachiel (either merman or human. Not picky there.) and Volks Link. Link might not be TOO bad (if I can find him on the Marketplace when I have the money to GET him), but the other two were over $1000 new, and both are Limited Edition.

 

My grail is Soom's Aragon - Masquerade. But, I highly doubt I'll ever be able to find him second hand. He didn't seem that popular and I've only seen one on flickr. It's too bad, because I thought he was the most gorgeous doll I'd ever seen. It was so hard for me watching his sales period go by without being able to buy him. I had no money at all. I still look at his sales page every now and then..

 

My grail doll is (was?) a Light Violet Soom Arkose. I fell in love with him as soon as Soom put him out, but I was just starting in the hobby and couldn't buy him. Now, two years later, I've got one on the way that I bought from a wonderful user on here for just a bit over $950

The only other doll that comes close to being a grail, now, is an Ebony Iplehouse Taregan. But, unlike with Arkose, I honestly can't justify the price and don't think he's worth close to $1k nude, unpainted, wigless, and eyeless. I guess that's how you know, for a grail you're willing to pay just about any price (at least in my experience).

 

My Grail would be DoD's collection Black Luke. Even if I had the money to buy him I believe there was only one made ;(
Unless I'm wrong on it. All I know is I have never seen photos of this guy other than the defaults off of DoD.

 

I don't really have one any more. It used to be a Volks 4 Sisters with custom face up and SDGr body....I bought her last year and sold her because SDs are just a little big for me. Sooooo.....mine came and went and now I don't have one. LOL

 

My grail doll(s) I cant choose between Iplehouse Aria and Supia Rhoda but then again I dont have any...

 

Granado Taya! in white skin so I can make a geisha doll... I even have kanji picked for her geimei (geisha name)... *slightly obsessed*

 

I had a grail doll wish before. She had the most perfect face sculpt I had ever seen. But now, maybe 10 years after finding her, I can't find her anymore. I don't remember what doll site she was from, or her name. But she was my perfect doll. Oh well. Now I am madly in love with centaur dolls, and want to get the soom gem Aloa and Sov centaurs at some point. And the kid delf Bory unicorn centaur too.

I guess I find myself as a BJD lover who's "Grail Dolls" are Limited Editions/LE's.
I've tried to convince myself to give up hope but I can't no matter how hard I try, I'm infatuated with these dolls.

- SOOM Migma + Bat Wings, Fantasy hands, and Bat legs and Paws.
- SOOM Vesuvia + Scorpion Waist Parts and Tail, (Wishful thinking: Devil Horns....I gave up a bit though and if I do ever
get her I'd probably end up searching for someone to customize me some for her instead.)
Outfit:
-Iplehouse Doria 'The Addiction' Red and Black velvet-like Coat and Skirt ensemble!!

My first grail doll was one of the very first bjds that I saw and made me obsessed with this hobby and that was the Soom Gluino Vampire face. However it was sold out and once I got over the fact that I couldn't have get him at all, I stumbled upon two other grail dolls and fortunately I was able to get them both. The first once was Ringdoll Pan style B and the other one Spiritdoll Celtis. I'm just waiting for the latter to arrive.

 

There have been several One-Off dolls over the years I guess would be my "Grail" dolls. I know there is pretty much no chance I would ever get one of them, but I can always dream, right?! It seems that any other dolls I missed out on I have been able to find for sale if I am patient.

 

RenitaNeko- Oh gosh, I really hope you find her one day. Are there any clues that might help with finding her?

I guess I have two grail dolls, one is IM Hound from Dollshe...always loved Hound, always wanted one. My sister got herself a Dollshe Rosen and that's made me even more keen on getting a Hound one day.
The second grail doll isn't a doll but more of a concept...I'm trying to put together a doll of pretty much my favourite character ever, but finding suitable parts is proving hard...

 

My grail is a Volks Dollfie Dream Miko with a dynamite body ;3; I know I could never get her so I don't include her into my wishlists but she is that one unobtainable dream doll.

 

I guess I could honestly say Luts or Fairyland Shushu's seem to be a grail sculpt to me. I own two MNF Shushus. I wouldn't mind finding a feeple60. But deciding which sculpt I like best is kind of hard. I like Mirwen, Chloe, Siean, and Rona too.

 

My grail is a Volks SDGr Belle. Her smile is the sweetest, and when I'm feeling low, looking at photos of her always cheer me up. That's what finally won me over.
I missed my chance to get her when she first came out because there was a death in the family and I couldn't work for quite some time. Now I have a seasonal job so expenses are still tight, but I have the dream of one day bringing her home. Her smile will be able to cheer me up for real, one day.

 

I'm not really sure I have an exact grail doll. I have a grail body- I really really want/love/NEED a minifee body. I've been resisting them for a long time because I love the tinies, but you can do so much more with more mature characters.
It's really hard to decide whether a doll is just one I really want, one I'm currently obsessing over, or a true grail doll, and I think a lot of other people have the same trouble deciphering that as well.

 

My grail doll is a SOOM Ignim in tan skin with the cat head. I just always loved the goddess Bast and have a doll inspired by her with such a beautiful face...

I don't see many of her around though. Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough? I'm a bit worried I may not ever be able to buy her second hand either, even if she was just from last year. She is also so very expensive, just over a thousand dollars with an outfit...

But I can definitely dream.

 

I have to say that my grail doll is either a Luts SSDF Ignis (a sold-out limited edition) or a Volks Dollfie Dream Rin Tohsaka (who sells for ridiculously high prices). Here's to grail dolls being limited edition and/or extremely expensive! *cheers*

 

My grail dolls are Volks Pearl and Volks Tohya. I want Pearl so desperatly. But i can't find her.. so so sad
But I have a Tohya, and I want Tohya more and more. I love both types. XD
