What is your grail doll?

My grail is a Luts Senior Delf Jude. I love his face!

 

Not so much a 'holy grail', but one of my wish-I-could-get dolls is the Volks Yoko Littner. Though I tend to like dolls that are more realistic I really like Yoko's look. I also like Dollfies' that have a smile on them.

Still, she is hard to come by and she's really expensive now.

But, I don't know why I didn't remember this before...I actually do have a grail doll and she is the Soom Smoky Day Gena with the exact same outfit shown in her promo pics on the Soom website.

 

Oh gosh, so hard to choose. XD The doll that really caught my eye and got me interested in BJDs in the first place was the Yu Fullset on DOD's site. (Though, having not quite understood the nature of BJDs yet, I thought it was a pretty girl LOL.) I'd also looove to have at least one of the Pipos anthros, preferably the Jam mouse or Bao. =^.^=

Over time, my dear friends have blessed me. First by introducing me to dolls who became grails, & then to the means of getting them.
The first doll to really drop my jaw was Kaye Wiggs Nettle. A few monthes later, when asked if I'd really spend that much on a head, I said yes without blinking. And before I knew it I was in the process of buying her & a Dolls Town body. l still love her to bits!
2005 Juri did that to me as well. And I never expected to be able to afford one that I liked. Now there are 5 of them living in my house. ?!? 2 were gifts, 2 I bartered for & the last I simply had to buy, because she is so perfect.
Elfdoll Soah led me a merry chase. Because of hunting for a Soah, I ended up with a Sooah & an Aurora. Both of whom I dearly love. And in fact Aurora was another grail I never expected to find in my price range, until a head popped up for sale... Then this winter the same sweet friend gifted me with a Soah head for the holidays. Caused me to gasp & cry when I opened the package as I had no idea what I was receiving! And caused me to recalculate my budget to allow for a body which fortunately popped up in the mp when I started looking.
Right now, I am really happy with the dolls I've collected & can't justify spending much more on my collection for a while. SO my current grails feel less attainable. Like JennyNemesis, I'd love a Kaye Wiggs tan fawn Nelly, but couldn't justify the price when she has been available for sale.
And last month I found an Aoi Tuki on ebay & made a mad scramble for funds, even attempting to sell my least favorite 2005 Juri...but in the end had to talk myself out of a doll that is beyond my "budget comfort zone" (Congratulations Rosslyn on getting one!)
I'm sure I'll have plenty of other grails, as I love art & BJDs are sculpted art, with painted art so I'm sunk everytime a new art piece gets my heart singing! But in the meantime, I need to enjoy the grails that have made it to my house.
Really?! This is the last month for Migidoll Owen? Gah, Migidoll boys have been on my wish list since the beginning as well....

 

dollshe bermann in tan and the special valentine's limited version of nobledolls raspberry are fighting it out for the position of grail doll. Bermann is just beautiful and raspberry is adorable, both of them would be perfect for two very dear characters of mine.
With raspberry, it's not so much the valentine's limited concept as the resin color, if there's ever a basic version in that dark a resin it would make grail status as well

something tells me that I won't be buying either of them for quite some time if ever, though

 

I currently own two of my grail dollies. One is a huge mess of parts. Prem, is a little fee DES with Daisy Daze hooves (NS) she has a Soom horse tail, little fee wings and Leekie world horns.

My second is a little more simplified, A DZ april NS

I am currently waiting on my third and final grail doll. A DC Youth body (extra joints) with a DZ Greta head and Uno ears.

I tend to do mostly character dolls but Iv'e wanted a little fee with Daisy Daze hooves since I started collecting.

 

My grail doll is actually a hybrid. Soom Dia head on a female Idealian body in Normal skin. I'll have to wait until they have a Normal skin option for the Limited Idealian, then buy the Dia at the same time to make sure the resin batch mixed for this group of dolls is the same color, then put them together and mod the neck parts to make them fit.

After all this, I'll try selling the Super Gem body that I don't want at all. This will be difficult since there are so many in the marketplace already and for some reason no one is buying them.

And then I need to decide if I want to keep the ID head, depending on if I like her sculpt at all or not. She may have to share her body with Dia. Or, if when a new female Idealian comes out and I truly love her a lot, I'll end up buying two Idealians and one Dia at the same time, and sell the extra head with the Super Gem body later. Ugh... so complicated.

they are all kind off expensive!

 

I'm so horribly irresolute when it comes to dolls. I'd have to say as we speak my current grail is either a Nabarro's Har, or a Cerisedolls Ombre...

 

I guess I have three grail dolls, IH's Bichun, Asa and Soo. Is that too many, or very boring grails? Iplehouse was the first bjd company/site that I stumbled upon many years ago, so they've always been my first choice in getting my doll from. Hopefully in two months or so I will have enough money saved up to buy Soo and then go from there. Ha~

I already have three grail dolls even though I just started up collecting with the SOOM Little Gem event. X3 First would be an EID Limited Edition Dexter (where he is a really hot cowboy. X3 ) But the main two that light a burning need in me to own would be the SOOM Little Gem Grey and Ace. They are just so cute and so neat that I yearn to own them. ^-^

 

Soom Amber. I missed her first release and was dreaming of those wonderful long ears well up to the FCE last year, when I was finally able to get my dream doll. More to that, she came in the skin tone I wanted and on the body I wanted *____*
Another doll that is not quite a grail, but a "someday, I will definitely go and buy her", is Volks Rinon ^_^;

 

My grail doll is a Volks SD Lorina. Sadly, she costs $1000+ on the second hand market No matter. She will be mine one day!!

 

Iplehouse Arvid in WS! He'd shell a character of mine I really love. I just don't ever see myself having the $700+ to drop on him or the ability to handle anything bigger than 50cm. Still, a guy can dream~

My grail doll used to be Luts SDF Noelia because I had wanted her since the moment I got into this hobby. However, last December, she finally became mine!!

My new grail doll is Soom Beyla. (She's the little Teenie unicorn) She's a LE and I most likely will never get my hands on her. I keep hoping that Soom will release a Teenie I'll love just as much, but so far, they haven't! Also, I just can't justify spending the amount of money necessary to get her off the MP x.x

One day... maybe....

 

Just like lots of people, my most wanted doll is a Volks SDGr Lorina. I originally did not put in for her believing I would rather have the Alice version to go with my Yo Alice. Boy was I wrong. Now I wait and pine for her. Hoping one day Volks will release her again in the future.

 

So my sorta-but-not-quite grail (Volks Michele) did come home just last week!! He was definitely my hardest doll to acquire, and I do adore him lots so he was totally worth the trouble. YAYS!!

I didn't mention it in my previous post because I'm not sure it counts but my ultimate dream GRAIL doesn't actually exist...A WS, open mouth, complete with fanged teefies, Thinking Kara Klum. And I want him in a fullset (cause Dollmore only releases their LEs in fullsets), with a faceup I LIKE enough not to change, and a fabulous outfit. That fits.

But Dollmore has to make him first *puppy-eyes* which is why I'm not sure it counts. I'm actually in the middle of modding one my NS Thinking ones (I got the open mouth, I just need fangies), but it's not the same....*pines*

 

My grail doll is a Volks SDC Renee. As she's limited, hard to find and very popular, I've resigned myself to the fact that she'll remain an unobtainable dream. That's alright with me though, I don't want to spend the sort of money she goes for.
