1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What makes a doll "stand out" to you?

Aug 11, 2022

    1. To me a doll stands out for many factors. Face up, facial features, if it’s fantasy or not. I tend to lend towards realistic like bjds. Usually male sculpts. Also freckles, love freckles. The character of the doll also plays a big role, is it a fantasy character, a teen boy with a hectic background or a lovely one. Etc

    2. For me it's definitely the faceup...;)

    3. Definitely the face! I love dreamy almost sad looking faces or moody ones. I also really like features like teeth or elf ears :D

    4. Usually if it's "wow, you look like this one character!"

    5. My idea of a stand out doll: Show me something I haven't seen a thousand times already. A popular sculpt with the factory paint in an outfit just like everyone else styles that doll... A wonderful doll, surely, but still, Not going to be what catches my personal attention.

A doll with a type of wig I didn't think was possible to make, a really well made outfit, a new style, a well lighted photograph, a creative attempt at something unusual, a first time try at sewing something unique, it's creativity that catches my eye.

And it doesn't mean only the most expensive rare dolls, wigs or clothes!

One of the most stunning dolls I've seen recently was a Bobobie that someone took time to do a careful faceup on to make her look actually realistic, within that sculpt's shape, and it was magnificent.
