1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What was the first sculpt you could recognize?

Dec 29, 2013

    1. the easiest to spot sculpt for me are unoas and volks since they have very characteristic features. I could tell part most dolls by company but not by it's specific name.

    2. The first doll I could recognize was the first doll I learned about, fairyland puki puki pong. I was looking up pullip customizing and stumbled upon the most adorable picture of a pong with a french fry. I thought she was amazing so I went on a mission to find out everything about them. Matching the owners photo to the company photo was easy since Pong has such distinctive big smile.

    3. The only ones I can easily recognize are a few of the Iplehouse guys and gals, then the IOS boys. Everything else I mistake for other sculpts. x:

    4. Probably MNF Chloe, in addition to Dollshe's Saint and DoD Homme Ducan--they're so popular it's easy to pick them out. I can also easily recognize most of the Dollzone dolls, though that's because they're arguably my favourite company.

    5. minifee chloe for sure....since she's everywhere!

    6. I believe the Angel of Dream You/Xun was the first one I was able to recognise on sight (You and Xun are the same sculpt, but one has elf ears and one human ears). For some reason, I don't usually have much problem recognising the Angel of Dream mini sculpts, I find it quite easy to.
To go in the opposite direction, I always mix up DollZone's Fei and Megi sculpts ^^; Think I wouldn't because I have a Fei but nope, always mix them.

    7. Iplehouse strangely enough! When I first correctly identified one I hadn't even seen very many, so needless to say I surprised myself! :)

    8. The first dolls I can spot out of anywhere were ring doll sculps, specifically the large males. Next it was the various resin souls. I can usually tell the major companies, but I'm awful at remembering sculpt names

    9. The first doll that I could recognize was a Pukifee Bonnie! c: It was pretty exciting since most dolls look very different when they have certain face ups.

    10. I can identify lots of dolls, and even when I first started I was good at it! Faces were always my thing. Bobobie was probably the first I could identify!

    11. Soom Beryl. Not that she's very easy to confuse with any other doll (especially back when she first came out :XD:). Even without her fantasy parts, her extreme pout was easy to identify even when I just started looking at BJDs. Now I'm very good at recognising Soom sculpts - most Super Gems/Teenie Gems/Little Gems, a few of their faeries and Mega Gems, and all the Rosette girls. I'm vaguely familiar with Mecha Angels and Idealians as well...

But since all my recognition skills come from combing through Soom-related threads, I really only recognise Soom dolls :sweat

    12. When I was first being inundated with sculpts on Deviantart the first one I immediately placed without having to go on a little name hunt was the Migidoll Ryu. After that I could always place the companies, but never exact sculpt names, probably because I have a shitty memory. Recognizable companies are Migidoll, Volks, Doll Chateau, Dollzone, Fairyland, Resinsoul/Bobobie, Ringdoll, Crobidoll, Soom, etc.

    13. I could instantly weed out RS Mei's among other dolls...And March and Bei too...Song took me a short while to recognize, (didn't start to instantly recognize it til I had my own Song)

    14. I find that I don't recognize sculpts as much as I do companies. For example, you can easily recognize FairyLand dolls. I also find that I recognize Dream of Doll pretty quickly, but I think that's because I have one. I may not know the exact sculpt but I know the company who made it. Another is if my friend has the sculpt I'll usually recognize it just from seeing it a lot. There are some people out there that seem to know every sculpt from every company, it must be a special talent!

    15. Welp the first doll I ever saw was SoftPoision's Candy on DA a few years ago so Migidoll Jina was my first, then the other Migi sculpts followed... And now I'm saving up to buy one. ^_^;

    16. I would say maybe Ringdoll's Sol? He has a really distinct face, it's even more recognizable with tan skin I find. I can recognize Iple's dolls pretty easily now too.

    17. Hmm...I don't know! Back in my day there were a lot less dolls in existence though so it was easier.

    18. The first doll I learned to recognize was a Migidoll Ryu (I blame Deviant Art), and after that a Soom Amber. That one was pretty easy to pick up on.

    19. Volks Friends Baron.
XD I'm terrible at IDing sculpts. Unless they are really unusual, a skillful face up is enough to throw me.

    20. My first I could recognize is DollZone Mo. He was my second doll, and regardless of faceup, wig, style, etc, that doll is just so distinctive, I can't miss it! DollZone Megi, too.
