1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What was the first sculpt you could recognize?

Dec 29, 2013

    1. I still have a lot of trouble telling sculpts apart....though I find I'm having an easier time the more pictures I see.

I don't exactly remember what the first sculpt I recognize was....but I guess the company I really started to remember first was IpleHouse, because not a lot of companies had their mature looking faces for the SDs. Doll Chateau has been a lot easier to spot now since I've looked on their website so many times and admire their unique body types. Other than that I think I can kind of recognize Dollfie Dreams? (The Vinyl anime ones)

    2. I'm starting to recognize which minifee is which, but that's about it. Minifee's, minifee's everywhere!
I wish I had of seen them before purchasing my first doll, I just love them.

    3. I can regonize some Doll Chateau sculpts. They are so unique so that makes it easy. The first sculpt I could recognize on sight is Doll Chateau's Christina. She is my grail doll, so I'm always looking at pictures of her. So, she is pretty easy to catch.

    4. The first sculpt that I could really recognize was Souldoll Chiron in human version because he was my first doll and I did so much research looking him up!

    5. Dollshe. All the old dolls have that very recognizable look to them.
Nowadays I can recognize pretty much most of the dolls. And by "recognize" I mean that at the very least I can tell what company are they by.

    6. I can only really identify some of the more obvious sculpts like a Saint or a DZ moon, the two sculpts my gf has XD

    7. First one ever was Lut's Lishe, probably because it seemed to be really popular at the first forum I saw when I started learning about bjd's. Nowadays I can guess a lot of companies at sight, when it comes to Dim's happy girls, I probably can tell most of them by name

    8. I think Unoa Lusis, because she was everywhere when I first started researching what bjd I would like to buy first. I still love her and maybe would like to have one someday!

    9. Fairyland's ante sculpt. The first yosd I ever saw pictures of was an ante and so it kinda stuck in my mind!

    10. Mine must be Homme Ducan because I saw him first while searching to know more about BJD (DOD was my first company of BJD which I knew.) and many people who I know own him. And his sculpt is really easy to recognize. ;)

    11. My first positive id of a sculpt was Ringdoll Sol, my first love. Then it was Dollshe Saint, he came close to edging out my Sol but not quite, followed closely by Dollshe Bernard, Claude and Hound.
I'm not absolutely positive but if I could zap my 60cm+ non-Ringdoll dolls I'm sure they would be replaced by those Dollshe boys... um men.

    12. The sculpt of my first doll, a Doll Leaves Maya.

    13. Probably Dollzone Shoyo, since she was my first BJD. Second was probably Delf El, and third was either KDF Ani or MNF Chloe, but I'm not sure after that.

    14. Volks Suiseiseki/Souseiseki. She was the first sculpt that made me go: "Who is this girl and how can I get her?! :D" after I noticed every Flickr picture I loved had her distinct facial features. Even now, she stands out to me like a star in a dark sky when browsing dolly photos. I don't even need to check for the sculpt name as I know her facial features so well now to very easily identify her.

    15. The first sculpt I could recognise was Louise of Glorydoll. It was the first doll I wanted to buy when I just started. I did not get it though because up to that moment the company already stopped. But somehow it was the easiest for me to tell that sculpt from the others.

Then probably were Doll Chateau dolls. May be because they look very special for me or may be because I own two dolls from their company. That's always easy to recognise Hugh and Erica, Bella... and the others.

And SWITCH's dolls as well. I would say they are somehow unique, too.

    16. I think it was Dream of Doll's Shall, because D.O.D. was one of the first doll company sites I visited often. Shall isn't even nearly my favorite from them but she is pretty recognizable. :)

    17. I have been looking at dolls off and on for years and somehow I’m not really able to recognize them very easily, I could probably pick out companies though. I’m not really good at recognizing people in real life either.

    18. Probably soom dia! That's also the first sculpt I fell in love with

    19. I am still a newbie so seldom recognize sculpts - there are so many different companies and I can't get them straight... Except for the Iplehouse EID and SID - those I have got down to a fine art - still expecting to get one, but don't have any yet, but LOVE their look and stable bodies.

    20. I can recognise a lot of girl sculpts by now, first one was probably limhwa halfelf. Have problem with boys though. I have never paid them much attention. But every time I react at an especially good looking boy, and look up what sculpt he is, it's a Soom Dia. Never seem to learn how to recognise the sulpt ^^'
