1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What would you do if Den of Angels shut down permanently?

Mar 23, 2015

    1. I'd rally the troops and create a DoA clone

    2. >o< Cry since this is the closest I've gotten to the hobby and checking DoA everyday has become an everyday occurrence.

    3. I am part of a couple facebook groups but it would definitly be a shame to lose all the resources. My experiance here has been very pleasant and I would be very sad if it went down.

    4. I would still have my local bjd forum and facebook group I guess, but it's not as active as DoA and I have never been to a meet, but I hope to be in one soon. Plus, they have already developed a community that I'm kimd of afraid to penetrate :( so I will be sad to see DoA go if ever.

    5. I joined DoA 10 years ago this October! I was 13, so that's a large percentage of my conscious life. I would be sad to say the least.
To me DoA is the hobby, it is the community. Sure there are other places but they don't have the history, the amount of resources, the friendly faces. I feel like on tumblr you can get lost in the drama, I haven't really experienced Facebook for dolls and I think YouTube is only for some. And other smaller forums might gain more traction if this happened but then everyone would be in their own little separate forums and it would be much less international. I dunno I'm bad at expressing myself but I really think the loss of DoA would have a huge impact.

    6. I visit other forums as well but I would also miss the sheer number of helpful threads, tutorials, lists of links and users a lot! :3
This is my first doll forum as well and all my BJD nostalgia is here. XD
In short: I would miss DoA. A lot.

    7. I'd be a little sad, because I definitely like buying secondhand on the MP. I have pretty good resources in my area for everyting except that.

    8. I use the facebook groups as well but I like visiting the doll waiting and arriving area. It's nice seeing other's update to say theirs has been shipped and gradually seeing it pretty much working down the list towards mine :D It helps me with the waiting. I'd be sad to see it go.

    9. I would be sad as I would miss all the wonderful people from all over the world that I have talked too because of this forum. Also I would miss the wealth of information, the photos and the marketplace where I have bought several of my dolls.

    10. Not much one can do about it if DOA closed. There are other groups that l have joined that l can get the info on obitus's so it's not a be deal to me that is.

    11. I would be sad because I love to read articles and all news about BJD here so much. But still, I wouldn't quit this hobby because of such thing and I actually was in other local BJD forum too.

    12. I would probably:

      1. Lie down
      2. Try not to cry
      3. Cry a lot

I have my other BJD groups etc. and they're nice and all, but nothing compares to all the resources on here.

    13. That would be quite sad as this site has been one of my constantly visited ones ever since I joined several years ago.. If it dies, well... nothing we can do. But I'm planning to cherish it as long as it's around. :)

    14. I'd miss it a little... but, honestly? It wouldn't be the first large forum I've used that went the way of the dodo bird, and given the impermanent nature of the internet and the way social media networking sites are already taking over much of the forum format's utility, I doubt it would be the last.

I'm almost willing to bet that in another ten or fifteen years, forums in general will be in the same niche as "old-school" Usenet groups, news readers and Yahoo Groups. That is to say, remembered as an older, obsolete format by most users and actively maintained only by a handful of stubborn grognards.

    15. I'd be a little sad. I enjoy getting news on new releases, the tutorials, box openings, gallery, marketplace... all of it. Other forums that I've checked out that are supposedly friendlier and more inclusive are recast friendly & inclusive and that seriously turns me off from joining them. Hopefully DoA will be around for a while. Maybe we ought to have an annual sacrifice to the Mother SD to ensure DoA's continuation.

    16. I'm fairly new here so am still navigating and checking things out, so not sure yet lol

    17. eee that would be sad..im not an internet socialite..no facebook or anything like that so it would be sad..
on the bright side there would be no more temptation to spend tons of money on my dolls anymore but its fun and makes me happy so I hope DEN OF ANGELS doesnt shut down E...V..E..R

    18. Die.

Not really, I'd just be homeless in the way of BJD social networks. I severely dislike Facebook groups for anything more than local buy/sell/trade groups, I'm not very socially inclined on other forums, tumblr makes me too paranoid to share anything, flickr is nice for photos but not much else, and so on and on. DoA isn't exactly my home on the internet and I still don't talk much. I'd probably just be one of those other hit-and-run users on other forums that signs on once a month to post pictures.

    19. I would be pretty sad, this is the only doll forum I know of. I spend way too much time on here, I wouldn't know what to do v.v I met some friends here, and even though we all live in the same area, I would have no way of contacting any, and that would suck

    20. I am fairly new here so still learning. I am hoping this is just a what if post not a heads up post.
