1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What would you say is the doll company which you feel blends the price and the quality the most?

    1. I do feel that all doll companies are pretty reasonably priced. For example, resinsouls posing issues are balanced out by their cheaper price while companies like iplehouse are priced due to their detailed sculpt and volks has an amazing quality resin coupled with a very strong brand. However what would you say would be the company who has the best “quality” in things like posing, details, resin in comparison to their price?

    2. Luts & Loongsoul for me.

And not so new newcomer Dream Valley. <3 Thought don't look this one up if you like fantasy. Their regular new releases (like every 2-3 months) will suck your savings dry if you don't stand your ground and resist. Even if they really ARE awesome creations.

    3. Hehe, completely agree on DV!! Have been guilty of buying two dolls within 4 months :kitty2

    4. I vouch for Doll Leaves! They're relatively cheap compared to other (perhaps more realistic/detailed) companies. I have two girls -- a Doll Leaves (Another Me) Lilith and a Doll Leaves Pearl -- and they're both posed pretty easily!

In fact, I'm going out this weekend to take pictures of them both to create their doll profiles with on DoA. It'll be a good "real" experiment to test their posability on something that isn't an indoor flat surface :whee:

    5. There are tons of companies that I feel could fit into this category but their aesthetics just aren't my preference. For me, at least so far, I really feel like Souldoll has met this category for me. While their torso joint on their new female zenith bodies is not my favorite, I really, truly find their realistic sculpting and the condition of the resin to be worth the higher price point.

    6. It would definitely be Doll Leaves for me. My Louis was only $143 and he's amazing quality!!

    8. My Sylves got shipped just when Dawn was released, so I'm definitly a happy buyer XD Also have some bodies and other dolls from them ever since they first popped up ;P

    9. Myoudoll hits that sweet, sweet spot for me. Very resonably priced, I've been very happy with the one fullset I got from them (and I think they have some very cool fullset ideas). Their bodies have a tendency to kick, but I've had so much worse with more expensive brands (the tall dream valley msd boy body is a nightmare to stand) and generally I find them easy to pose, and looking nice both on camera and irl

    10. Another Dream Valley fan here. They have great posability, detail, and resin finishing. I also love the variety of fantasy dolls they make, and find them to be more affordably priced than some other companies that do fantasy dolls. I currently have two MSDs and a pet doll from them.

    11. Withdoll. I can plunk these dolls down anywhere and they are solid standers. I also didn't find them to be overly expensive. Admittedly, I am not very original with my posing.

    12. I have been around these dolls for a long time, although I don't own that many. I feel like the ones I own are definitely a good balance, that in the end I can safely say they were worth what I paid for them (for most of them). I own two SoulDoll dolls and two floating heads, I got them when SoulDoll were considered a less expensive choice, compared to other brands at the time (Volks, Dollshe, Luts/CP). I have a soft spot for SoulDoll, I wouldn't mind owning an army of their heads, if I didn't dislike resin as much as I do. I also own two DollZone, also from a time when they were considered an inexpensive brand. I sold the body of one of those, but I still feel like they were worth their cost. these are all old-school single jointed limbs dolls, with heavy stylized faces and proportions (that was all there was back then).

More recently I purchase a Myou mature tiny, he's nicely designed, I feel his joints could be improved a bit, he is aesthetically pleasing to look at and his articulation works. If I was being nitpicky, I would have liked broader shoulders and longer feet -- the latter, to allow him to stand a bit steadier. I find his feet a bit too tiny, for the height and proportions of the doll as a whole. Definitely not an expensive doll, but well worth his cost, considering detailed sculpting and articulation. I also own a Fairyland CL Rou, whom to me is by far the best engineered doll I own (of this kind), and the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. He wasn't the most expensive doll of this kind I ever purchased, but the one that is the most expensive falls short in engineering, although he is 67cm and aesthetically pleasing (to me). I find it hard to justify the cost of that doll now, that I am no longer interested in adding more resin dolls to my collection. At the time he was obviously worth it to me, or I wouldn't have purchased him, but he is also old school none-dobule joints and kind of too much resin for me -- I would still purchase him, if I could go back in time, because I do love the style of the artist who created him, but I would still be angry he was lowered to a less wallet wounding amount a few months later. DX

This is all my personal experience of course. I have read people having mixed QC & QA from all these companies. I was probably just lucky, that most of my dolls didn't suffer from many, outside of what was already known at the time (as most of my BJD are older than dust), but nothing I would call a major drawback or flaws I couldn't look past or couldn't fix myself. (:

    13. I’ve been collecting since 2006, and for overall consistency, sculpting, engineering, pricing, and resin quality, I have to say Luts. Although I’ve collected from many wonderful companies over the years, Luts has remained an absolute go-to for me. They produce so many sizes and types, from their Sd’s and MSDs to tinies to their anthro Zuzu line. And their regular sculpts stay available for like…ever! So you can always pick up an old favorite if you wish.;) Their resin quality is amazing too…whatever color you might want to choose, including the limited fantasy colors on occasion, is always top notch. I’ve always felt they were a great value for their quality, and I can find almost anything I want when shopping there, including high quality wigs, eyes, and outfits…they’re an overall great resource.

    14. Another vote for Luts, but I have also been astonished with the quality of Doll Family-H stuff I have received. They have a subtle detail and grace I haven't seen often in this hobby, but at considerably lower cost that many companies.

    15. Out of the small handful of companies I have, I'd say Myou! They have nice articulation, detailed sculpting, smooth finishing, and the price is pretty low especially with frequent sales. The reasonably short wait time also adds value if you are impatient They're one I'd recommend to folks looking to dip a toe because imo it doesn't feel like you're "missing" any nice feauture of bjds from them, while being affordable and convenient

    16. I'm quite pleased with my Angel of Dream dolls.
Inexpensive, nicely sculpted and solid to pose.
Now mine are quite old so I can't speak for their newer dolls.

    17. I have to second Withdoll. I only have a couple of their 16cm size but the resin, posing, and factory faceup quality is really good for the price. I love the weight and feel of their resin and the wait times have always been very good at 1-3 months.
