1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Whatever happened to kits?

Dec 8, 2020

    1. Thanks!!
I totally want to sculpt a cyborg arm that can be interchangeable.. once I realized it's just a matter of confidence in stringing/getting a tool for it, I was psyched about the idea. And sculpting a fancy tube with detailing seems like a good place to start with sculpting BJD parts... haha.... But yeah, just as we were talking here, I was thinking "kit bashing" by mixing sculpting and parts instead of having to sculpt all the fine details might *really* be the sweet spot on a project like that.

So maybe there is hope for us kit-lovers. We can reinvent our own kits ;P

    2. Yeah!! Luckily my dolls have big Paws that need to be taken off to slip them into certain clothes, so i've gotten pretty good at restringing arms.

    3. Part of why I picked up some Gunpla and other kits again is because the one I'm working on designing is...well, a robot I want in big-SD sized BJD form. I wanted to get a look at how they were sculpted and what kinds of articulation might work for designing him.

    4. YeeeeeEEEEeeesssss! :dance

    5. I've completely disassembled and restrung BJDs and off-topic dolls before. I'd honestly kinda prefer kits, because that means that the box takes up a bit less space and is easier to ship. Like how a Lego set comes in a box that's smaller than the completed Lego model is.
