What's in your MSD guy's pants?

Aug 18, 2024

    1. So, talking to my bestie this morning about doll junk (as you do on a Sunday morning) and the various sculpts and their differences. She lacks a DOA account but found herself wondering, while squinting at unboxing videos on Youtube, who's complete versus who's had...accidents down under, sculpt-wise.

Between us, we have SartoriaJ, Resinsoul, IslandDoll, and Dream Valley (on the way) for boy dolls with bits, and boy there is a variety, from tic tacs with nothing else to a full-on anatomically correct sculpt. The things that make you laugh thread has taught me that SD guys have a fascinating variety of options. But what about the MSD boys? Am I gonna have to follow through on my threat to send her a bag of fun-sized bits in her Christmas box to act as prostheses for some sad boy dolls as her collection grows, because most MSD boys are a mere half-step above Ken? Inquiring minds want to know.

    2. In MSD-size I have:
Iplehouse JID Muscle type: Not hyper realistic, but definately some sculpting going on there.
DollLeaves old Teenage Dream: Plain tic-tac.
DollFamily-H: Minimalistic sculpting, but all parts are represented.
Resinsoul Ming body: Slightly more personality than the DF-H, but still very stylized and minimal details.
DollZone: Tic-tac with a hint of a skin fold at the base.

I must say, they all are consitant in that the level of stylization and detailing is reflected in the body over all. And I mean, that makes sense. It would be equally jarring to find a super realistic bits on a smooth undetailed boy as it would to find a Ken-doll bulge on a hyper relisic body.
And as funny as the optional parts are, I can live with a tic tac as long as there is something there. Obvious male bodies where it's just missing makes me uncomfortable.

To answer you last question; of course you are going to have to follow through on your threat.

    3. my Luts kid delf has a very simplified situation down there - it's more detailed than tic-tac (hilarious description btw lol) but not by a whole lot; he has some subtle, tasteful implications of certain anatomical details.

based on pics (i only have the one doll so i can't base it on experience), it seems like the majority of MSD bodies tend to have a similar middle-of-the-road approach, being simplified with subtle detail (which, imo, is preferable for the size). i've seen pics of some that were a bit too detailed for my liking, and others which were sort of formless, but those seem to be outliers.

    4. Most of my MSD boys are barely more than tic tacs, but they're also on younger bodies. My Dika Doll boy is more mature, so his is shaped as the real thing but with a visible head (and without any details). My Resinsoul Wu is also mature and has one that is shaped realistically (also not detailed), only his is uncircumcised. As for preferences, I don't care what's down there, even if it's a complete Ken doll situation.

Also, can I just say people are missing out on a market for tiny packers? Even with business, my Dika Doll boy looks flat in his jeans. He needs a little sock in there or something, lmao.

    5. I have luts , soom and iplehouse msd boys the luts and soom have smaller less defined bits the iplehouse a bit bigger and more defined but that fits the general sculpt both luts and soom msd's are sculpted and supposed to be kids the bodies represent a child before puberty hits and also the style is more anime and less realistic so it's perfect as it is , but if a sculpt represents an age of 10 it will be a tic tac cause hormones haven't hit yet . Iplehouse is more of a 12-15 kid body with the first wave of puberty hit so the sculpt is natural also. It's natural in big dolls to have more definition and variety as it is about sculpts representing older ages. It is also not only about age you can also have in mind the style and size of the dolls luts and soom are more anime while iplehouse more realistic. I think you will have more variety as more mature sculpts representing adults are made into the size of 40-45cm . I feel a bit weird for even talking about the bits of msd dolls cause in my eyes they are kids it's like talking about the bits of miniland baby dolls they have bits they are sculpted without stupid shame over human's real bodies but that's the end of it cause they are not sculpts of adults.

    6. Per photos on reddit, it appears that silicone novelty minis are of the right size, although the...foldability in pants may be a problem. I've also seen full on action figure accessory kits of this stripe (and what accessories there are!) but those looked to be intended for Figma and the like, around 1/12 scale.

    7. I don't have one myself, but Unoa boys famously have interchangeable parts for, shall we say, different "moods". Don't know about the size though...

    8. But don't confuse "tic tac" with "turtle" - my oldest BlueFairy Tiny Fairy (minis despite the category name) boys are just uncircumcised.

And how much detail can a sculptor get on a mini's relatively small body part anyway unless going at it obsessively?

    9. I have one MSD boy and only had one in my entire time of collecting, he's Huajing new 1/4 uncle, so he's meant to be an adult. He brought along his bag of dingdongs :XD: I assume he is wearing his relaxed one right now, but truth be told, he came with underwear that I haven't taken off yet, so he might be just a magnet boy right now... :abambi:
I haven't had a close look at them but when I peeked at the bag, they seemed fairly detailed to me :sweat what can I say, I can appreciate the realism but I don't care to look at my dolly's bits, not out of body shame, it's just not too interesting to me as a collector unless they are outrageous in some way.

Edit: what luck, I forgot that I hadn't put his box away, it was sitting right next to me so I had a look again for science.
in the bag are 3 parts, two happy, one a little bigger than the other and one sleepy. I guess he may be wearing another sleepy one or nothing. and yep, my memory was right... the sculptor definitely put some effort into detailing... he seems to be a healthy guy

    10. I have some input!

Dollshe Fashion boys, where they can alternate between flat plate or peen, strung on a seperate loop of elastic and teeny s-hook. The anatomical piece :candycane :wiggle is generally correct, but not super detailed.

Granado! He has the *detailed* pieces as magnets, and he has one limp, one very excited, and one that is down but gently nestled inside of a... disembodied hand. Imagine if someone is standing behind him and reaching under to the front, but just the hand.

    11. To the point of pubic hair, apparently. Some sculptor at Island Doll is very dedicated to their craft. (Also as far as younger body types versus older: both of us tend towards mature minis, her with the more realistic head sizes like SartoriaJ, and me with the adult-but-still-relatively-big-noggin'd stuff that seems like the more common 1/4 mature mini look.) So it sounds like from these responses and my buddy's own doll that Island Doll, Huajing, and Granado are winning the maximum effort (sorry, just saw Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday) award.

    12. That's true you are perfectly right there is a fine line there , the size , style etc direct how much detail can one sculpt. It would be obsessive if there was such level of realism only in that part. That's why I also mentioned the ot miniland baby dolls they have fairly realistic baby parts but they are well premie/newborn size fairly realistic looking baby dolls and it looks very natural , they are looking well like babies and it doesn't look creepy cause the whole sculpt is on the realistic side and they are helpful to be anatomicallly correct (p.e. my son who has autism loves their boys is thrilled a company made dolls without feeling the bits are too shamefull to include.) that's not the case with most msd which are both smaller scale and more anime looking.

Well I haven't seen those but that is the point the more dolls are made in that size which are "miniature" versions of the 65-70cm adult dolls and not same scale kids the more variety will be there cause I know if I had seen an msd representing a 8-10yrs old boy sculpt with pubic hair I would go wtf cause those hair come forth in the beginning of puberty.

Oh God I had forgot about these they are ancient before I had joint they hobby in the total beginning , I wish I never see one of those arround they seriously creep me out and it was the reason I never ever thought of getting any unoa doll

    13. My dragon shell doll mini (which was sold with a Nindum dolls body) has a fitted cup that putty's onto his manhood. I quite like the effect under pants, bulge without a lot of um details, but it's removable and he is certainly detailed underneath. None of my other guys have a piece like that and I quite like it.

    14. My Telesthesia and dragon 1/4 special boy came with 5 different magnetically attachable bits with varying lengths/angles. Unfortunately the magnets are very weak and his legs don’t quite accommodate them while sitting down. However, I was able to solve this by making a harness to keep things attached.

The doll zone 50cm 1/4 guy comes with a packer, and has other swappable parts you can buy separately.
