1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. It answers my intended purpose of the question. I wanted to determine how many dolls people buy in one order to see what is seen as excessive. I feel like I have been way too excessive recently because I'm new to the hobby and because i can get extreme at times with collecting. I was also curious if others had more self control with dolls compared to me. There is also the fact I was genuinely curious of how many dolls a person would be willing to order in one order. I read someone has over 200 of the dolls from a specific company, so that's how i ended up wondering about how many dolls a person orders in one order and other stuff I got curious about. That's great they have that many if that's what they want. I don't know if i can handle maintaining that many dolls, but who knows maybe I might get to that point if I'm in this hobby for long. I wouldn't mind having that many dolls if it was feasible for me except for the maintenance.

I bought one in one order once, but I really regretted it because the male I felt like was her older brother and i felt upset i couldn't get them both to be siblings, but fortunately for me Peakswoods is having a re-release. I can't recall the most I've ordered on one order because I behind on organizing since April. Once I organize my doll gallery I can look back on how many dolls i have ordered in one order. I feel like many were impulse buys this year.

    2. 4 in one order. And I actually ended up selling them almost immediately after the order came in, because I had lost interest in collecting that particular type of doll shortly before they arrived.

As for how many orders/dolls I’ve been waiting on from different companies simultaneously? 19, with 3 of them being orders for just heads. But that was because of very long production times and my fiancé spoiled me with dolls last year after he got a settlement from a motorcycle accident he was in in 2020. Definitely not a regular occurrence in my life.

    3. I have ordered only one doll at a time, but was waiting for 2 at the same time for my first two dolls.

I was tempted to order both Lieselotte and Charlotte when they had open preorders last year, but I realized I truly only wanted one of them. Charlotte would have been an impulse buy so I'm glad I stuck with only one.

    4. Most in one order? 4, there was a discount event and I picked up a couple I'd been interested in before but hadn't bought yet. Most I've been waiting for at once (between layaways, shipping, and just waiting on manufacture) is 6 full + 2 floating heads.

It's not uncommon for me to go multiple years without buying any dolls though, so when I do I sometimes go a bit overboard.

    5. When I was in college I was living with my mom, who wasn't charging me rent, my tuition was covered by a scholarship, and I had two jobs. So... I was unusually loaded for a college student, and at one point ordered two of the same Iplehouse doll in different skin tones because I ~wasn't sure which color I liked better~. (Turned out, it was neither). That was probably my biggest living it large moment.

These days I seem to average buying about 1 doll every three years so... there hasn't been an overlap in quite some time.

    6. I never exceeded one. There aren't many dolls I love after all.

    7. I've never purchased more than one doll in the same order. However, I've had two on preorder but from different places. I also do not have many dolls. I'm limited by expenses and space.

    10. Just at the beginning of this year/end of last year actually. I placed 3 dolls on layaway around the same time. A Soom Heliot which is 2nd hand, AE Love Nikki Star Sea , and Soom Obsidius. And now they're all paid off *_*

    12. Two.
A Resinsoul Ming and a DollLeaves Wish, through a dealer.
I was incredibly lucky, as far as money goes. First DollLeaves had an event where you basically got the head for free when you bought a body, being allready afordable dolls that was to this day my cheapest new doll.
Then, on top of that, I bought them through a british dealer and the day I did the payment then euro dipped sharply compared to my own currency, meaning that even with the conversion fees (...paypal...) I realized when the payment had gone through that I had payed way less than I had expected.

Well, since the universe likes to balance itself it seems; I then had the worst time with the delivery, but that was on UPS, not on the dealer, who actually stepped in like a hero and convinced them to book a new delivery after the first had failed. There was a long a and very stupid seried of events and explanaions for what went wrong, but the end resault was that they decided that I had to go in person to pick the dolls up... At their depo more than two hours away by car, within less than 24 hours after I finally got any kind of notification from them. I don't drive and I had especcially booked delivery to the door because of this. It was a mess.

It all worked out in the end. Both dolls are still with me and I am very happy to have them.
The Wish, now named Theofil, sits here at my desk right this moment, keeping me company. :)

    13. I'm still in my first year of owning dolls, so that's definitely influenced my decisions.:XD: I bought two from the same company about 7 days apart from each other, because I'd been planning to get both of them anyway but originally said I'd wait until the first came in before buying the second... and then thought extending the wait time to have both of them (when I wanted them to be companion dolls) to a full year, if not longer, would be a little unbearable. If you count overlapping wait times, then the number is 3 because I have one doll on layaway right now. They could all arrive at similar times, due to the way I spaced out the purchases, but who knows!

Also, if we're including in-stock dolls within the time frame of buying/waiting on other dolls then the number climbs to 4... :eusa_pray It's been a very dollful few months.

    14. I bought 2 full dolls (new from different makers) and a floating head (secondhand) in the span of 10 days at the start of this year. This is exceptional - my pace has usually been 1 doll ordered at any time. But I'd just returned to the hobby after a very long hiatus, so I have an excuse for splurging. :XD:

The floating head arrived and I ordered a body for it a month later, so I'm currently still waiting for 2.5 dolls, all from different makers. I ordered that body and one of the full dolls direct from the companies' Taobao stores. There's a slim chance they'll both be finished at the same time and I can ship them together from the proxy's warehouse...
