1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I like my dolls to actually be shipped in their box/in their company box. It does take up a lot of room (With over 20 dolls and a few other odd dolls that are not totally considered BJDs I've been scurrying around my house trying to make room for them sense I hate to throw them out). I DO have two dolls bags though (a Volks SD black diamond bag and a black Dollmore MSD bag) I bought those separately when I had the grand idea to take some of my crew places/conventions. It's neat that some companies give free bags along with the doll, but a box and lots of bubble wrap is more safe to me...and I like to fish in there and get my new doll out lol. I think Impldoll gives out bags and I also think Angel Of Dream (AOD) does as well (someone correct me if I'm wrong sense I've never bought a doll from AOD before). But that's what I prefer anyways.

    2. Hehe, the ironic thing is that the vast majority of dolls that I've received in a bag actually had the bag inside a regular doll box and then that box was inside a traditional shipping box! So yes, the shipping aspect isn't really an issue as that is just as many layers (if not more, in some cases) than a traditional box.

Also, a doll box does not always guarantee to be safe either. I remember when Soom changed their boxes…I think at the end of 2008? Inside they switched to these air filled sheets and thin foam strips just around the doll's ankles and neck and many, many dolls arrived broken. After that they changed to zippered bags and that was much better.

    3. I personally prefer bags for no real reason. I really like Fairyland's "book" boxes for Pukipuki/Pukifee, too; these are the only boxes I keep due to their cuteness. Otherwise, I'd go with bags anytime!

    4. Resinsoul, at least for a time don't know if they still do, did bags. I was always so tempted to get a doll just for having an extra professional carry bag around. But in the end, I'm a box girl as well.
I like the fact that it's a. more secure/safe for shipping b. their is usually pictures/labels on the boxes so for reselling purposes you can have an official box to go with them c. as a perfectionist, it's a lot easier to leave the boxes safe and sound in a closet, were as the bags would be going out and might get dinged up. That would hurt my "mint condition maintaining" soul.

    5. Both! I have both and like both. And even better is receiving a bag in a company box ;)

    6. Boxes all the way for me. I like the bags, but boxes seem so much safer and more practical for storing clothes afterwards as they stack up nicely :D

    7. Both times I have had dolls arrive in bags they are inside a box as well. The bags are great as you can use them whenever you take your doll out. Boxes just tend to take up space and gather dust. Bags can fold to store also which is very useful. I suppose it's a size thing to as most of my crew are 65-70+cms those damn boxes are huge!

    8. What about a bag within a box? I had that with my first doll :) he came inside a very pretty bag with his equally very pretty company box (+ the shipping box of course). In the end, I prefer the bag if I know the doll is a keeper because the bag is so useful to travel and hold, plus it keeps my doll safe whereas a box it is only good to keep if you plan to sell the doll later on or to use it as storage...in my case, I always throw the boxes away since they take too much space in my room and I don't need them because my dolls have a place to stay and for traveling, I have bags for them.

    9. I have one doll that came in a bag and loved the fact that he did. I use that bag all the time to take dolls to meet ups. But I really only need the one bag. So as much as I love getting a cool bag that has some use, I guess I'd rather they ship in their box. And pillows, pillows, pillows, I can never have enough.

    10. Carrier bag! I hate boxes. They are fairly useless and take up space in my closet.

    11. I'd love my dolls to come in a bag but so far all of my own have come in boxes.

    12. Box. With a magnetic flap and foam cut out for protection!

My IMPLdoll and Spiritdoll bodies came in bags. I do like having the bags for meets, but the boxes are more useful if I resell, and I feel are more secure as well, since my IMPLdoll arrived broken due to lack of packing materials.

    13. I prefer box because of security with regards to the shipment of the doll.

    14. The only ones I have had come in bags are my Resinsoul dolls, it was unique but I actually do prefer boxes. Though both were very well I just prefer the idea of having that second box for protection.

    15. I like my doll shipped to me in boxes. I keep all the boxes as well and keep the doll in there when they are not being used.

    16. While boxes take up more room, I prefer it because I feel it's safer. This just might be a psychological thing, but it's like an extended warranty. You get it because it makes you feel better. Getting a bag where you can transport them in tho is pretty cool.

    17. I've only ever received my dolls in boxes, but I think it would be pretty cool to get one in a bag sometime since I don't own one at the moment. Either way, the most important thing is that the doll comes intact and undamaged :)

    18. I had one doll come in a carrier bag (inside a box) and I LOVED it. I store my dolls in their carriers, so having instant storage is massive plus in my book and it saves me the time and effort and money of tracking down a carrier bag elsewhere. (Especially since all my carriers have the same color theme...yes I am just that ridiculous.)

    19. i'd prefer a box. since its being shipped having the doll packaged up safe and sound in a box makes me worry less about it getting damaged. It be really nice to have both though if possible. A box for protection and a bag to carry them around in would be great.

    20. Definitely a box. I thought that most dolls would be shipped in a box, because the resin in some dolls are usually so fragile. I guess they must have very good bags. Never heard of a doll shipping in a bag. Depending on the amount you put towards a doll, usually a box is best. However, if the bag is layered in cushions it would be alright. I'd still prefer a box though.
