1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

When someone buys your doll just to resell it at a higher price...

Jul 2, 2016

    1. Well this always happens but I can do nothing about this. I won't resell the dolls in a higher price. Actually, I told them that hurt my heart, someone will apologize while some will ignore my words.

    2. I don't think it's always that black and white, though. Sure, there probably are people who buy dolls with the sole expectation of making a profit by selling it on - but frankly, your price would have to be significantly below market value for the seller to make a profit. You have to consider that buyers also paid the shipping, and in some cases import duties. (Where I live it's 21% plus so-called 'adminstration fees' on anything from outside the EU.)
Buying a $250 doll from inside the EU costs me $275 at least. From outside the EU my total costs are more like $350, and that's a conservative estimate.

I've never really bought a doll that I didn't like when it arrived, but I have heard plenty of stories about people falling in love with the pictures and being disappointed with the real doll, whether it is second-hand or new. It just happens.
I would think that if I bought a doll and then realised the size wasn't for me, or it didn't fit in, or I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would, I would try to sell it for what I paid (including all extra expenses) - thinking I could always lower the price if I needed the money badly enough to need a quick sale.

I totally get that, too. I understand sellers not wanting to be stuck with either a head or a body. I also understand not keeping a head if you really only need a body. You might as well try to sell it instead of throwing it away.
I once came close to buying a PKF that I didn't actually like because I needed the body and headback... Ended up finding a headback and using a LaTi body, but if I hadn't, I probably would have bought that PKF and sold the faceplate.
