1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

When you were waiting for your FIRST doll...

Oct 3, 2013

    1. I think waiting for my first was easier than some of the other waits have been. I was still anxious and excited and nervous wondering what exactly I had gotten myself into, but I think my worst wait so far was for my F60 Lishe. If I could be said to have a grail doll it was her. I've never been so obsessed with checking order status in my life. Not even my vacation to New Zealand was able to completely remove her from my mind, although it helped :)

With the exception of Lishe, I think it gets a bit easier with each new doll though. I've got a few on order now and I can say that by comparison I'm relatively calm XD

    2. Yes!! Even though she was a cheap one, I was so excited to get my hands on my first doll! I bought a bunch of fabric for her and my mom taught me to sew while I was waiting for her to arrive. I still get excited waiting for a doll, like right now, :) but I'm more patient.

    3. Well I didn't have to wait too long for my first doll since I bought her used but it did take me a couple weeks to find one since I wanted a limited girl. I also had a person contact me and ask if I wanted to buy one and then backed out and never contacted me again.
The three or four weeks it took for me to find and receive her was the most agonizing time ever! I was so excited and scared after having spent so much on a doll (of all things :P). It felt like a lifetime but it was so worth it in the end.
I don't think I could have waited so long to get my first - I'm pretty sure I would have bought a used one in the mean time to tide me over!

    4. The wait for my first doll was actually the easiest out of all of them. I ordered him through Denver Doll Emporium right around my birthday (he was a present), and he didn't show up for around four or five months. For a good portion of that time, I had actually forgotten he was coming! I was so absent-minded about him showing up that I forgot to even buy him a wig or clothes until after he got here xD

    5. My first one was a third handed doll, she literally went to hell and back. My second doll I waited longer than it should because I had to save bits and pieces like 10% of my part time check to that doll account so that took 6 months to get enough to buy him and the shipping from eBay.

Since they changed customs from china to America. So the official distributor had to cancel the order until the doll was made then reactivity the order so it can be accepted by customs. It was nice that they gave me the option to refund the money in full then email me that the doll has been completed and then re order him again...I just said to them to keep the money cause if they refunded it to me. I'm going to end up spending on other things XD

anyway my boy came in a little less than a month than expected which was expected to be in September. I ordered late June, and got him late July.

it kind of reminds me like going through a pregnancy. Waiting for your bundle of joy to come into your arms to love and hold...just without the pain and the medical bills XD

    6. No. It was super hard to wait for all three! Luckily, all three were secondhand, so I only have to wait a week or so for the first and the third, and the second was picked up in person. I'm an impatient person, so even with a doll with me, I still want the one on its way to come home to me instantly.

    7. The wait for the first doll is quite a challenge, sooooooo many what if's. What if I don't like the resin color? What if it doesn't look like what I thought it did? What if I don't bond with it? Should have bought a girl instead of a boy? It's hard but exciting at the same time, a little bit of an adventure and after a few months you finally get to meet your doll, it's a good feeling. Having another doll with you helps the next go round. n_n

    8. I got lucky with my first doll. I ordered her in two pieces (she's a hybrid.) I was completely prepared for a long wait, so I was super surprised when Mirodoll got the body to me in 8 days! While I was saving up for her head, I had the body to use as a dress form, so I could occupy myself with making her clothes. And when I ordered her head from Elfdoll, I got it in exactly one week! I was so shocked when I got the shipping notice, I thought there must have been a mistake. Anyway, that was a fluke. I'm now waiting on my second doll, and this one is much more of a normal BJD wait. It's been over two months now, so I'm HOPING she arrives soon! This one is much harder than the first.

    9. I was very fortunate with my first doll as I only had to wait about 3 days. I ordered from a fabulous store that had the doll I wanted in stock & with priority mail she was in my arms shortly. But I must admit I constantly haunted my postman until she was in my hands. Sometimes I really need instant gratification & can't imagine waiting months for a doll to come in. Since them I've waited some months for a doll & while I try to just put it out of my mind, I still find myself checking the site constantly to see if there are any updates in shipping status.

    10. When I place an order for my first doll in the future, I feel like I will be extremely impatient and worried until the minute my postman knocks on the door.

    11. > A< I was very impatience for my first doll, but that might have been because I ordered my first bjd from Ebay. :] I waited 2-3 months.

    12. It was so hard, my friend told me it was a long wait but I didn't really know what she meant until I was actually waiting. I had bought two outfits, shoes and boots all ready for my doll to arrive. It came a bit longer than what I thought but I did buy in promotion season so that was my fault really. Even though I never had a doll before I had this awful feeling of emptiness. Hope it doesn't sound too dramatic but its true.

To top it all off my doll was held by customs for two extra weeks and I got so fed up I spent extra money after custom fees to just have her home with me on the Saturday. But I dont regret paying even more money, she is perfect and I love her very much :)

Its still hard waiting for dolls but its nothing like the first one!

    13. I checked the Luts site compulsively for the first two weeks. Then I forgot about it until the day I got my shipping notice.

    14. I don't mind the wait for a doll because its worth it:)

    15. Haha, I'm glad to see I am not the only one who is seriously having trouble with the wait period. I am very impatient person and I hate waiting and when I get excited of something I just can't stop thinking about it until I get it. I actually bought a second hand doll while waiting for my souldoll fafner. Now I am very impatient to get my Aquariusdoll Ella too :D

    16. And because the waiting is toooo long I have too much time to surf in net and find everything new and what should I have ordered... That's why I have now three different orders inside.

    17. Haha :''D Sounds like me. Luckily I have my boyfriend living with me that keeps me in control.

    18. So much harder! I think when you're waiting for your first there's all these questions and anxieties there - what do BJDs feel like? How heavy will it be? What if it gets lost in the mail? Did I buy the right one?"

Once you've already been through the process and have a doll at home it's much easier, because most of those questions and anxieties are diminished and you can spend more attention on the doll you already have to offset some of the impatience.

    19. I'm on my wait for my first doll right now and coping by...trying to teach myself how to sew. It's something, anyway?

    20. I only received her 1 month ago and the wait was touture ahhhh
