It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. where do all the old dolls go?

Jul 28, 2011

    1. Personally I have a lot of regret for some odd the older, out of production dolls that I've sold. Because it is extremely hard to find them on the second hand market.

I really miss my happydoll Carrie the most, but finding another just won't be possible.

    2. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?
I have a number of dolls that are over five years old, since that goes back to 2008, and I've been collecting since late 2006. Some are still being sold, however, while others have discontinued head sculpts or body types. A few are still being sold, but aren't being bought much, due to their company's shiny new and improved later editions.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?
Certainly. My collection has accrued character biographies, and all are current in my storyline, so whoever is "up" gets photographed! For pure gallery shots, my only determinant is who I can grab fast when I make that split-second decision that I have time to snap a few.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand?
Certainly have. I have older floating heads who always need bodies that will match their aged resin. And just plain sometimes "catch up" on doll editions I either wasn't interested in when they came out, or couldn't get at that time. Besides, when you buy a "pre-aged" doll, you know how they'll look for a long time, post-oxidation. No surprises!

What state are these dolls in now?
Great. I've never gotten a non-French-resin doll that has gotten too yellowed.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?
      Not applicable.

    3. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?
Almost everything I own -- or have on my wishlist -- is old and discontinued. I seem to make a habit of this. The oldest thing I have is a Volks body that dates to 2000/2001 with the long-since discontinued slender-type arms and legs. If I sold it, I wouldn't be replacing it any time soon. I need to find a suitably aged head to match.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?
I don't photograph as much as I would like, period.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand?
      All the time. :D

What state are these dolls in now?
Great. In all this time I've only had one doll and one head yellow badly. I suspect it was something with those resin batches since the rest are only lightly yellowed and very even.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?
Again, don't photograph as much as I would like. I don't think most people want to see my dollies anyway.

    4. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore? I have 3 bjds I bought in 2006, and they are a year or two older then that. But they are still available from the original companies.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA? Yes, sometimes. I take less and less photos of my crew. I will photograph usually when I re-dress all of them and take the time to pose them together.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand? My last two were new, the previous 5 were secondhand

What state are these dolls in now? My bjds are in good shape. If the resin has mellowed, it is not bothersome or obvious.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why? I have an older boy but he would not be a sculpt that pics would get a lot of hits.

    5. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?

Yes, I own many. I seem to really enjoy buying dolls that are either older/ or limited/ or sold out. XD

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?

I admit I do not think my photography skills are really that good. So I seldom do.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand?

Yes I did, I bought a Souldoll Celestyn from 2006 or possibly earlier.

What state are these dolls in now?

All my dolls have mellowed out, most of my white skins have become a pale ivory. My normal skin dolls have become a beautiful pale peach. Also a very old B&G white skin body that has become quite yellow.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?

Many of them are still WIPS, so they don't get photographed.

    6. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?
Yes, both of my girls are- I have a CustomHouse St. Mina (sad version), and a Supia 60 which was made in 2006 and only 20 were produced.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?
Actually, I never did. But I definitely will once they're 100% done.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand?
I bought my last doll a little over a year ago, and it was my Supia 60.

What state are these dolls in now?
She is very yellowed, and her original faceup needed refreshing. I had to ask the (amazing) faceup artist who did her new faceup to airbrush her face so it's closer to its original colour.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?
Yes, simply because I don't have a complete outfit for them yet.

    7. I own a latidoll Chaim. He was made in 2006. Really hes a great doll and stands very well but he has design flaws such as his legs swing to and fro and they dont really lock into place. I also have a DIM marianne with the mature body (before the glamor body). Also and olleaf cookie.

I dont photograph any of my dolls unless they are being worked on. Each doll gets time spent with me to be spoiled and made to my liking. Once I get a decent camwra I will photograph them and display them.

Just olleaf cookie. The olleaf company when it was around in general wasnt to popular but cookie is my favorite tiny since she does stay put. I havent played with any other tinies aside from soom though.

Olleaf cookie is yellow, but buttery yellow. Chaim has mellowed and is still decently white still with original faceup and everything and marianne has also mellowed and is still decently white. Marianne sticks out to me though because she used to be VERY white and her face was gothic like now that shes mellowed she seems more sickly I guess...if you look at her you wouldnt guess it but I guess I see it because I know she used to be very white.

I own them and once I get a decent camera ill photograph them. *shrug*

    8. All my girls are from Volks FCS and it's a bummer to see that some of their stuff like their face & eyes have been retired, but I'm not about to send anyone to the back of the line bc of that.

I love seeing the older dolls in the DOA Galleries or when in the Box Opening section when people have bought an older doll in the MP !! :aheartbea

    9. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?
      All CP Sculpts:
      Elf Ttori
      Juri 06
      Elf Lishe 2006
      Dark Elf Soo
      Nanuri 07

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?
I do not have much time/space to fully capture my dolls in photos. Once I get a house and my hobby room, I hope that will change.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand?
Two this year! I got my Ttori Elf and my Dark Elf Soo.

What state are these dolls in now?
The ones I got back in the day are in pretty good condition... though both my Nanuri and my Elf Lishe have suffered wig stains that I cannot remove unless I want to redo their faceups. They have all yellowed some, but evenly.

My secondhand dolls did not fair as well. Both of my girls have uneven yellowing, my Dark Elf Soo being the worst of the two, but I think she may be nine years old and sat in the same pose in the same outfit for a long time. I still love her to bits though, she just cannot wear sleeveless dresses until I have the time to do a little blushing to fix her up.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?
Its not that I do not want to put them up... it is that whole lack of time and space... and well, I honestly am never happy with my photos and if I do not at least get some comments, I feel even worse about it.

    10. I joined this forum back in 2006 the same year I bought I first doll. I remember when the Dollshe Bermanns were all the rage in the forums--oh and Migidoll Ryus, Volks Williams, Volks Luna, and SOOM Sabik--GOOD TIMES! :D

I've laid dormant since 2009 and just getting back into the hobby and forums recently. I do notice that a lot of the active members from when I was also active (around 2006-2009) are not so active anymore. I think it's because they have changes happened in their lives and posting their doll photos in the galleries became low priority.

I haven't been up-to-date with the newest, shiniest sculpts that are popular in the galleries and forums these days. I also need to "update" my mindset and think that what I think is a popular doll is actually not popular anymore.

Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?
My SD16 Yukinojo Sawaragi that was released in 2005 that I got in mint condition here at MP. He is the oldest doll I have in my collection. He's going on 7 years now. Volks Re-issued him in the SDGou version last year as I'm aware.

Another older doll I got 2nd hand from the MP is Volks Luna. Her release/manufacture date is 2007 and she's the 2nd oldest doll in my collection and has not been re-released. She's 6 years old.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA?
Yes! I posted some photos of Luna--got some reactions but not as popular like the newest sculpts out there. Still it makes me glad that there are people out there who appreciate a doll even though they don't really know the sculpt.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand? What state are these dolls in now?
I haven't bought any dolls recently.

But to answer the 2nd part of this question, my dolls are all well cared for and if I don't have them out, I make sure to store them in their proper boxes and remove all clothing/wigs that can stain the resin. I also like to check on them from time to time even if it's just opening the box lid and doing a visual inspection while they're boxed. This is how I keep them "like new" despite them having yellowed a bit.

Do you own old doll sculpts and dont put them on the forum, why?
I have a Lati Red L. I haven't taken any recent photographs of him since I'm busy.

    11. Do you own any sculpts that are over five years old and not sold anymore?Yup I own a CP Nanuri 07, CP Tan EL, Abio Angel Yi (same artist as mythdoll that also went under), Doll in Mind Lloyd.

Do you still photograph them and put them on DOA? Sometimes but not in a while. The scenery isn't the greatest on the side of a highway :/ My house is also extremely dark, I can't actually photograph in doors.

Have you recently bought an older sculpt second hand? no.

What state are these dolls in now? They're still pretty good. Lloyd is missing his original headcap after magically hovering out of the carrier on to subway tracks ;3; But they still got all their face ups intact. My Yi has tanned into a rather dramatic peach, I think my El's tan has lightened slightly, no greening luckily.

Do you own old doll sculpts and don't put them on the forum, why? Nope there are pictures of all on the forum somewhere, nothing recent though. I do plan to post more once I'm done renovating my house.
