1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you buy weapons/props for your dolls?

Sep 8, 2022

    1. Saw this really pretty bow on gem of doll but I don’t really want to have to buy the doll and it’s Fullset for it. Do you guys know where to buy stuff like this? Thanks!

    2. The best places I've found are Legenddoll, Tata's paradise, and etsy.

    3. Also, SartoriaJ sells weapons separately sometimes. They're preorders so only available when one is open but they are usually super pretty and detailed! They have MSD and SD sizes.

    4. If you can engage a proxy that can help you purchase and ship from China, Taobao is a really good place to look for BJD props and weapons of all types, colors and sizes.

You can use Google translate to search for items.

    5. Korean maker, SADOL sells clothes with accessories. I really like their baseball club outfit. It included gloves, batting gloves, helmet, bat, baseball and carrier bag for equipment! Check out their clothes set! You can get them all together with the outfit! If you only want certain items you can also split the order. Hope this helps!

    7. I found weapons and other props on Ebay, for example this seller has some interesting stuff. You can also find miniature swords and sabers that fit 1/3 and 1/4 sizes on Aliexpress.

    8. Shapeways is also good, if you are amendable to a a bit of DIY.

    9. Letter openers come in various sword shapes and well with BJDs.
      Check eBay

    10. Ooooh I am saving this thread. It may be good to know for later!

    11. I have the biggest trouble finding props and weapons for my 70cm LS doll. No place really has something his size. I combed thru taobao and etsy with little luck

    12. I've had some success over the years finding mostly 1/3rd scale firearms. A model company from Japan (I think) called Dragon Models Limited used to have a few; you could even get some of them that you actually built and had working (non-firing) features. I also found some of those cheap "cap-gun" key chains that were the right size. Everything else though has been really hit or miss.

I'm going to try making some swords and bows with the 3D printer once we get it set up and running..,.

    13. Firearms tend to be easier; key chains and customizable models fill the gap for 1/3 and 1/4 (I have several rifles from GoatGuns at this point—great props and I just think they're neat, to channel my inner Marge), while 1/6 is, and will always be, plentiful, courtesy an entire doll/figure hobby around it. Swords, as previously mentioned, can be filled in with antique and collector-oriented letter openers.

Anything else? Unless you're willing to commission or make it yourself, there's not exactly a whole lot of options out there, and they don't tend to stick around for long.
