It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. I've kept all my official doll boxes (3 Super Gem boxes, 3 Teenie Gem boxes, 3 Pipos boxes). Partly it's because I'm a sucker for nice packaging, but it's mostly a storage thing - at the moment, most of my dolls live in my boyfriend's apartment. He doesn't have a hobby that's similar to doll collecting (involving stuff to put on display, etc), so I feel it would be very unfair for me to clutter up his space with my dolls. Until I have a place of my own (or we move someplace bigger), I'm going to keep my dolls stored safely in their boxes in the spare room, and only keep them out when I'm actively working with them.

... okay, I might occasionally have a Teenie out just for the fun of having one out (my Shonki is currently haunting the couch cushions, for example), but mostly they're kept safely out of the way :XD:

    2. I've kept all of mine, and since my collection isn't terribly huge, it's not much of a problem. I use them to store the spare parts the dolls may have come with, and keep them handy if I need to pack the dolls up for whatever reason- like if I need to move.

    3. I've always kept my doll boxes large or small. I've used them for storing other things, if I felt I needed to have more space or justify keeping them. Sometimes I'll even keep the shipper box too, depending on doll and if I'm likely to re-home the doll.

    4. I keep the boxes on top of my cupboard.

    5. I turned my doll's box into a bed.

    6. I only have 2 proper boxes and i don't think i'd ever get rid of them. My Littlefee box sits on the top of my bookshelf because it's really pretty and my Delf box (which is illogically large) is up in the top of my wardrobe. I like them though because they remind me of when my dolls came home, plus they're useful storage. All of my other dolls are Resinsoul dolls and they come with carriers rather than boxes, which are much too useful to get rid of!

    7. I mostly keep the doll boxes I have , but if thay are very damaged , than I throw them out . I have 2 big boxes right now that I use for storing clothes/wigs. I also have 2 small boxes , just in case I might sell someone one day.

    8. Yes.

And thank you Suuchan! I'm organizationally challenged. Those are great ideas.

    9. When I got Hong, I turned her box into a giant couch, using pink floral wrapping paper, the pillows the box had, and some other little pillows I made. It was fun at first, but then it got in the way alot, and the wrapping paper kept tearing, so eventually, I took it apart and threw it out. It was like one of those boxes where it had a 'window' to show the doll, and then a cardboard flap over it, and not as nice as the typical bjd box, so I had no qualms in getting rid of it. I did keep Xiaofen's box though, and it more or less serves as a sitting/display couch. And I'll probably keep the new doll's box when she comes, but probably store hers away in the closet.

    10. i've kept mine ^^
And used it to put some of her clothes and old wigS "=D

    11. Iplehouse EID boxes are so huge but I do keep mine. You never know when one of your dolls has to go to a new home so I keep them for that reason. I do not store anythign outside of wigs and outfits in them since all the padding is needed if the doll gets resold. I make short videos of my dolls and use their boxes ad props for the to sit on!

    12. I do keep mine because I really like BlueFairy's box. Their box is beautiful. ; u ;

    13. I could NEVER do that. It's awful, but I'm totally obsessed with this idea that Louis will yellow if I leave him on display all the time. So he usually sleeps in his box and comes out in the evenings to play with me. Which is alrigh as he's supposed to be a vampire boy anyways. Still, it's pretty annoying to pack him up all the time. Actually makes me a bit sad, I'd prefer him keeping me company all day long. But what's there to do about it? I'm only glad D.I.M. has such a nice, sturdy boxes, so there's no danger whatsoever. Moved with the box a few times already and it's still as good as new <3 And yes, having only one doll is nice, since the box itself takes up a surprisingly big space.

    14. Yes I kept all (3) of them. Unfortunatelly untill now I haven't a proper place to display my dolls, so I use the box to store them (with some accessories).
I even had recycled a bonbonniere box to make a (perfect:aheartbea) box for my DZ Leo who came without it.

    15. yes because the box is as much importent as the figure herself :)

    16. Yeah I keep all my doll boxes for storing individual outfits, shoes, wigs, eyes that I know the other dolls won't share.

    17. Some boxes are just too big eg. yo sd size bjd came pack in a large 70 cm box. So what I do is throw those boxes away and buy a nicer prettier smaller boxes I see on sale or in dollar store. If the bjds I buy came in small boxes then I keep them. But I kept my Soom Mecha big box just in case I sale them in the future.

By the way, I am hook on buying nice pretty little boxes with handles for my tiny bjds :)

    18. I used to keep them all, but had to downsize on my boxes so now I've got one from each company that my dolls have come from. And one of each incarnation :XD:

Sounds weird but I've got 5 soom boxes and they all look different. I keep them just so that if I ever have to store my dolls they can be put up and kept safe.

Admittedly, it's also because i kinda feel the boxes are something the dolls came with so it is a little hard for me to part with them readily. I really needed the space thus couldn't keep 20 boxes.

    19. Yes. Because I always use them to store my dolls since there's too much sun and dust in my room to display them (not to mention, absolutely no adequate display space), or if I need to transport them somewhere - like when I moved to college.

In the future I hope to maybe get a pretty and elaborate box ala vintage doll cases for my tiny, but even then I do intend to keep his box... I dunno, he'd just feel... homeless without his own doll box, haha.

    20. I used mine, with the accompanying 2 shipping pillows, to make a Bed, so that my girlie can slip into it at night, and not get all dusty.
